    I think the fact that we've heard absolutely nothing tells us a decision hasn't been made, either way. The fact that the rumor gained so much traction tells me it's at the very least a possibility. I'm still holding out hope.

    He could be better. Lots of guys could win at Akron. I know this. I just mean until he wins games, in the eyes of the public he just isn't Tressel. Basically, and understandably, anyone that gets hired not named Jim Tressel is going to be a disappointment for most.

    The fake student union rumor ruined a lot of the speculating. too many people took it and ran with it, now everything i see is talking about that...shame.

    I've never like Tressel, but watching the attention this is getting, it's not hard to imagine how much publicity would come if he was coaching on saturdays.

    Anyone in here in charge of the facebook group? This is the status of the group currently "From a very good source, Tressel has turned down UA's offer and UA is moving on to other prospects." ...any truth?

    I respectfully disagree. It doesn't take a lot of talent to win in the MAC...It takes the right talent at the right places. OU isn't dripping with talent, yet they won 9 games so far this year. They have enough talent to win a coach that helps them win. Winters can get the right talent. I'm in this camp. The MAC stinks and a good coach can turn it around relatively quickly.
