  1. You've never been to the Winking Lizard?
  2. New offer: ATH Aykee Henderson
  3. You want grass tailgating? There's a pretty large grass area on Brown Street next to Memorial Field. I'm about 95% sure that UA owns it. It's about as close to the Rubber Bowl tailgating area as you'll find near campus.
  4. Are all the gravel UA lots getting paved? Or just this one?More importantly, why are there still ANY gravel lots? A first class university should have all paved lots. There you go.Lot 9 is the largest gravel lot on campus, by far. That's why it is the one selected for paving. Most of the former gravel lots have already been paved. Lot 9 is the most visible one on campus. It wasn't paved in the past because it's only three years since the buildings that were there were demolished. This is simply another phase of development for this particular location. It's also a sign that the dorms that were planned there aren't likely to be built any time soon.
  5. It's to the right of the Ask the AD button.
  6. You pave it because on school days there are students who like to spin their wheels in the dirt, kicking gravel up and hitting parked cars. The money will probably come from UA-issued parking tickets. Those things are really expensive. This project isn't just about football.
  7. Akeel Lynch commits to Boston College.
  8. Tressel essentially hired Gene Smith. Smith had Tress' seal of approval, so he was the one who got the job. I am certain that there was an understanding between the two, something along the lines of "You let me do my thing, no questions asked, and I'll make sure you are the one who gets the job." And so Smith stopped the paper trail. OSU's legal department should all be fired. The first rule of Legal at a large institution is document everything, also known as the CYA rule. They should have noticed this some time in the six years that it had been going on.
  9. Joseph Spencer commits to Illinois.
  10. Wow .. prognosticating red-shirts 11 months before he can enroll .. and 16 months before his first practice.Your view of the future gets deeper and deeper.Kid is a big-time rebounder based on the first 2 pages of Google hits.Welcome aboard the Zips Nation, Gary .. be careful what you read around here. B) Go Zips!Talk about twisting the meaning of my words! I said he may be a candidate for something meaning that there's a chance that he would be considered, but not necessarily chosen for something. A chance multiplied by a chance. I'm just noting that he plays at a position that we have plenty of options at and that his skillset seems a little raw.It all comes down to defense with Dambrot anyway. Can the kid defend?
  11. He seems like a good redshirt candidate. Lots of athleticism, but raw skills at a position where we have a massive logjam.
  12. "Some late night scoop: 6-foot-5/2012/PF/Gary Akbar from Dayton, Ohio (Dubar HS) has committed to the University of Akron."ESPN profile. Their description of him makes me excited about the direction the team has taken and where it's heading.Barring an outgoing transfer (which is probably very likely), this completes our 2012 recruiting class.
  13. New offer: DE Arlington McClintonPatrick Elflein commits to Ohio State.Five of the last six offers are defensive ends.
  14. http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/i...cate-2009-titleHere is how the NCAA punished Georgia Tech for "failure to cooperate in an investigation".
  15. A big part of the new AD's platform over there was cleaning up the basketball program. Let's see how he reacts to the second arrest this year for the program.
  16. Shawn Lemon just signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
  17. http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/local_new...player-arrestedHard to fix the URL on this phone. Anyway, welcome the latest Golden Flash to carry on their proud tradition.
  18. S Jay Mastin commits to Miami-Ohio
  19. Meves brought us a national championship. But I've seen better. If one of our new GKs is as good as Evan Bush was, they'll earn the spot.
  20. There. Now I, and those who agree with me, can feel superior to both sides of that debate.
  21. Meves' spot is not safe. Besides, he's a junior now. if he takes us to the College Cup for a third year straight, he could conceivably go pro early. These young GKs can redshirt or sit this season out and whoever wins after meves is gone will start the next three or four years.
  22. He doesn't have that option, which is all we really want. "Youre either green and growing or ripe and rotting" is a pretty clear indicator that he views reaching a successful level as the beginning of a decline. Sustainability isn't an option.
  23. When's our schedule going to be announced? We're still trying to schedule both a payday game and a road game that begins a home-and-home series for early January.
  24. Don't believe me, fine. here's the nice thing about living in a world with social media: you can ask him yourself. @bjustice_14 on Twitter. Go ahead and send him a message.
  25. Looks like you're right about Stargel. ScoutingOhio usually scoops the other two recruiting services, and I forgot he was mentioned.
