  1. He signs with Cleveland, everybody forgives him. Don't post, "not me" because you are in the minority. He hasn't killed anybody. If he leaves, he can be held resposible for several deaths that are bound to occur in the Cleveland area. Dan Gilbert hanging from the rafters in the Q, Brian Windhorst found dead from exhaustion after a 12-hour Twitter session, and a Bath township firefighter who dies heroically trying to put out the flames that go up on Crystal Lake Dr. in the ensuing riot.
  2. Former Zips RB named the head coach at his old high school Hope you find much success, Coach Biggs.
  3. I think he might actually choose the Clippers. He keeps buddying up to old-school businessmen trying to learn their financial secrets, and you don't get more like an old-school, cigar smoking millionaire than Don Sterling.
  4. Free face time on ESPN. The announcers would mention Dambrot and UA's basketball program. It's good for recruiting when a recruit can point at the TV and say "hey, that's the school that's trying to recruit me, and they're important enough in the sports world for ESPN to come there".
  5. If UA was smart, they would have immediately organized a watch party in the JAR and invited cameras from ESPN to film the crowds reaction live and show the party/chaos during the latter half of the TV special. Considering he played half his HS games there and just had his camp there, I doubt ESPN could resist.
  6. That's awesome!
  7. The whole media circus he and his marketing team (Can we contract them to create a gigantic media circus for the Zips?) has created is a power play. They are changing the landscape of professional sports with this move by creating the idea of a player that is a valuable commodity that the owners and big execs should have to fight over, instead of the player being a disposable asset at the mercy of the league. He's transferring the power from the owners to the players, and that's shaking things up behind the scenes in ways we can't predict.
  8. NEO doesn't have a heart left to be stabbed. It's been blown up, burned, smashed, shot, electrocuted, and buried. As long as he continues to give to this community, I don't care where he goes.
  9. For the final spots open on the schedule, just look here to see what we're trying to do.
  10. I'll assume you are talking about Dials getting grabbed while shooting a three-pointer at the buzzer, and it was unbelievably called a "non shooting foul"? That highlight was in the internet for a long time, and maybe still is. That's exactly what I'm talking about. I still believe that he would have hit all three FTs.
  11. http://www.WHIZnews.com/content/video/201962 http://www.WHIZnews.com/content/sports/loc...ron-picks-akron QB Clay Cameron from Tri-Valley HS near Zanesville, OH will become a preferred walk-on at Akron this year, switching to the linebacker position.
  12. Hopefully it doesn't end with us getting screwed by the refs like last time we played down there. Edit: Game @ Dayton confirmed, Wednesday, Nov. 17th
  13. http://www.chillicothegazette.com/article/.../SPORTS/7050311 Looks like the NCAA denied Humpty's hardship waiver. He'll redshirt this upcoming season.
  14. GW has a run-first offense. They have one good receiver that is the focal point of their air attack. It's almost perfect to test out our new 4-3 defense against. GW has no known active internet message board. Their conference, the Big South, used to have one but it got shut down.
  15. If you create a user Gallery here (look for the tab upper right), you can upload as many photos as you wish. The limit is a database size restriction thing. No limits apply in the Gallery. Let me know if you have any problems. FYI, the batch upload for Gallery takes about 2M at a time without choking. Go Zips! ZW That info should be pinned in the tech support forum. It's good advice.
  16. CP3 somehow managed to talk LeBron into joining Twitter. I'm almost shocked that @kingjames wasn't taken by an impostor years ago.
  17. LB Derek Watt verbals to Northwestern.
  18. Like last year, they're only available to season ticket holders.
  19. The JAR got some face time on ESPN today.
  20. With the WAC losing Boise in 2011, all the WAC teams have an extra OOC game opening and Akron is looking for a home game. We should try to being in LA Tech. Just as easy as FIU, and alightly better looked-upon than a FCS team.
  21. The city and campus police are fine with it. It's the state liquor people that like to wander around that you have to keep an eye out for.
  22. I dont know if anything moved forward since I last heard, but late in the spring semester I had heard they were looking to get cams mounted on the light poles once they were erected... Dont know if that is true or if anything would happen, but I know it was at least discussed. By the time they hook those up, the thing will be complete. The opener is August 13th.
  23. I wish they had a cam for the soccer stadium. It could easily be mounted on the Student Union or Infocision stadium's press tower.
  24. According to TopDrawerSoccer.com, Akron has received verbals from a trio of defenders from Las Vegas. Meghan Brascia, Lexa Green, and Hailey Kirkwood have all verbaled to Akron. They are all defenders on the same club, Neusport. To anyone more familiar with women's college soccer (Z.I.P.? Anyone?), is this common? Getting three players from the same club at the same position all at once? I have to imagine that coach Pfau will make sure they don't get seperated via redshirting some but not others. Great chemistry along the back line is not something to take for granted.
