I think the NIT goes away with this expansion. There's no need for it anymore. I thought the whole point of the NCAA taking over the NIT was to eventually merge it with the NCAA tournament.

It means that every single BCS team with a winning record will get into the tournament, which gives those conferences more money. This can only hurt mid-majors.

Short turnaround. Akron plays EMU at home on Monday. EMU is a talented team, far better than they have been in the past, but they're only an average MAC West team. They have some good players in Brandon Bowdry and Carlos Medlock.Akron just needs to come out with energy. No sleepwalking like against Toledo.

A WMU win would be huge. Hope somebody besides Kool steps up. If anybody besides him gets hot, WMU becomes an extremely dangerous team.

Sounds like a system with all the problems of the BCS but none of the benefits.

The Zags won't schedule us. Most of the teams that people want to see Akron play won't schedule us, even as a buy-game.
