  1. So D'Orazio is not only the QB, but also the kicker, punter, and a DB for CHHS. That's impressive. I love to see players that are actual "football players", who are athletic enough to do anything the coach might ask. Also, Ritossa looks like he will become a gigantic TE who can catch the ball. He will be a player that we'll need to find a way to get him the ball on offense. Time to change the "invisible TE" offense we run now.
  2. They're expecting another sellout on Wednesday against OSU. This is great! I hope we clobber them badly in front of a bunch of casual fans who might be conflicted over who to root for.
  3. How does this sound for a conference?AkronCan'tOhioMiamiBGSUToledoBall StateWestern MCentral MEastern MSounds like a bunch of teams that absolutely nobody in the area would pay money to watch the Zips play against.
  4. Well, our three problems have already happened for the week.
  5. The short answer is no.As of right now we had two scholarships to offer for 2010 (due to the graduation of C.McKnight and Conyers). Both of those scholarships have verbal commitments attached to them (Egner and Green). If I'm thinking correctly in order to pick up Euton we would either have to rescind an offer to one of those two or we would have to have another player leave the program. I suppose it is possible that one of our guards would look to transfer out. We do have a log-jam at the guard spots right now and it wouldn't be a total surprise if one of the talented youngsters saw the writing on the wall as far as playing time. The other possibility I could think of would be if Daryl Roberts isn't granted or doesn't want (his commitment to the program has been a question in the past) his extra year of eligibility for '10-'11. I think that goes over about everything. Hope it helps.Thanks. I remember that Roberts got his scholarship thanks to the transfer. There is a huge log jam at the guard spot, and if one of them does transfer, then I would be thrilled to see this kid sign on for 2010.
  6. Do we have another scholarship?
  7. I think it's a healthy part of a growing fanbase.
  8. Offensive or defensive coach?
  9. Here's the latest on the QB situationInteresting that they only got quotes from defensive players. So what if the LBs support Rodgers? I want to know about the OL and WRs.
  10. It could always get worse. This is especially important for those of you making the trip to CMU on Saturday.
  11. This is the last game where I will accept excuses from the coaches and players. After this game you have two weeks off to figure out why everything is going so horribly wrong and then fix as much as you can.CMU will win this game, but I am looking for a change in the offense. If the offense looks different, with different plays being called that better suit the talent, I will be happy that they are at least trying. If we see the same old offense built for the old Getsy/Hixon/Biggs offense when we clearly have a different style of player at each of those positions, then I will start advocating that we start looking for a new coach.
  12. The liquor agency was prowling around. Most of the time, as long as you aren't drawing attention to yourself or being blatant about your beer consumption you will be fine. But sometimes you get an officer looking to stir some things up or an agency like the liquor people who are out to get you. I suggest coming up with some emergency beer removal maneuvers just in case.
  13. There were several agencies out and about during tailgating hours. Some were more lenient than others. This is why I'm not a fan of lot 9. It's too easy of a target. There are plenty of secluded, mostly empty (more room to party) lots on campus on game day that the cops never even think about checking out.
  14. And whose job is it to bring in players that will will respond well to JD's style of coaching? Players that have the right attitude?
  15. I like the spread, when it is done right. Akron's spread offense is not done right.
  16. You're probably right. I wonder if ESPN forced their hand. Most definitely. UA probably wanted this matchup televised because it was a Big10 opponent, but ESPN could only give them this time slot, which also happened to overlap with OSU.My philosophy is that we should only televise games if it convenient for us. Playing at the same time that OSU was 30 miles down the road and not televised (meaning that everyone will go to the game) was not convenient. If ESPN offers to put us on TV, we shouldn't accept in the name of 'exposure" if it means taking away something else like attendance. If it works out then sure, put us on TV, but only if it doesn't take anything away.
  17. There's a good idea. Broadcast nationally but not locally. I don't know if ESPN can do that, though.
  18. Nothing like watching our soccer team dominate to get rid of the bad taste left by football.St. Louis is in the "others receiving votes" category in the NSCAA poll, so they're not a bad team. Certainly better than any MAC team except for maybe NIU. Hopefully there is a big crowd there.
  19. The game was lost before the opening kickoff, when Zippy got decapitated by her Segway.
  20. I'm surprised that nobody has gone on a rant about how another player from the class of 2005 is gone.
  21. the guy had an espnu mic. maybe it's something they are doing for today's game? That's my guess.
  22. Does anybody know what time the gates are opening for the game? Don't want to be late and miss my opportunity to sit on the grass berm (It will be open from the beginning this time)
  23. They had an attendance of 10,235. Not bad, but not as much as I thought it would draw. At least 500 of them wandered into the UA-IU soccer game in the second half.
  24. it seems like every team in the MAC has taken a major hit the past few weeks.
  25. Main story on ESPNU's website.Pretty cool stuff. I hope the Rwodies can come up with something to play off of Kofi's self-appointed title "The Ashanti King"
