I honestly think this game was a good thing. Hopefully the coach recognizes where we need to improve, and focuses on those areas before the conference play starts. The only way we will dance is by winning the MAC tournament, or winning the rest of the OOC schedule and losing in the MACC finals. I don't know where I saw this, but I remember reading something where coach KD was looking foward to Texas Tech and just assumed we would beat UALR. If that is true then we are having the same pre-season hype problems as the football team. Hopefully I am wrong but if I am not, hopefully this loss knocked some sense into the team and coaches before it is too late.

Mid-Major top 25 had us at #8 in the preseason poll. With our loss, we will most likely vanish from there unless we win big for our next couple of games.

OK, so I drive an old car that only has an AM radio, and as I was turning the knob (yes, knob) I came across this "progressive" radio host whom I usually skip over. But this week, he said he wants to talk College Football all week long. His radio program has an internet chat room from 9-12 in the morning. I decided to check it out to see what the Clevelanders think of college sports since they only have pro teams, and everything is scarlet and grey. I felt that it was my duty as a Zips fan to represent the U of A's point of view at great personal risk to myself. Those Buckeye/Browns fan hybrids are a violent bunch. I invite everyone to join me and talk some college football. Sign-up is free, and we need more people to represent a more LOCAL point of view.

Before you laugh, look at these numbers.Bowl eligible teams (6 wins or more): 49Bubble teams (4-5 wins): 37No Chance (3 or less wins): 33Looking at the schedules, many of the bubble teams play each other, or much stronger teams, eliminating alot of them from contention (especially the teams with only 4 wins). There are currently 64 bowl spots, and (at the moment) 86 teams with a shot. We will know much more about our chances after saturday. I'll come back to this and update it for everyone. IF we win out, we mill most likely have a very good chance of a bowl.

According to our A.D., we have over 4,500 season tickets this year. That has to help the attendance tremendously.

Maybe it will be on GoZips or something. If/When we win that game, the game against Texas Tech will be on ESPN2, so that shouldn't be a problem. IF we manage to get past them, you can bet the media will cover the Zips much better than they are doing now.

I thought something like this would happen. all it takes is one conference loss, and Can't loses their nerve, and forgets how to win. Great win for Buffalo! Both Buffalo and Temple look like they may have finally figured out how to play football.

I believe I saw something where there will be a shortage of bowl-eligible teams this year. IF that is true, we should have no problem getting into a bowl game at 6-6, even if it is not one the MAC is contracted with. We can only hope this is the case.

I can't wait until this season starts. This team is looking to be the best one yet!I will definately pick up a copy on campus Thursday. Everywhere I go, I here people talking about the Bball teams, and most of what I hear is disbelief. They just can't believe that one of our sports teams might have something more than marginal success. It is treated like a rumor, going around in whispers, like if it were said out loud it would suddenly be completely ruined.Oh, and I believe it is "Zipsnationals"

Today I talked to one of the guys on the team (He asked that his name not be mentioned) and he told me who was being redshirted this year. No big suprises this time. Tim Carroll, the player I talked to, and a guy he would only identify as "Strawberry-D". That's three players, and there are only four freshmen on the team. I wouldn't hold him to his word but he sounded absolutely sure of what he said, so take it for what its worth.Here's looking foward to what feels like it will be the best ever at Akron!

I am pretty sure Tennessee and a few other teams would give a TON to have Frye be their starting QB right now.
