  2. I was joking with some friends at the game that the Marshall fans there probably felt insulted because the discerning sports fans of North East Ohio decided that watching Marshall wasn't worth spending their Saturday afternoon.
  3. Syracuse. Indiana. That's about it.
  4. And there's where your misconception stems from. Marshall is not interesting in any way for the average sports fan.
  5. ‏@MDrago59: Mifflin QB Jan Johnson has given verbal commitment to Akron, Mustangs coach Mick Vecchio has confirmed #pahsfb Here's a recent article on him. Doesn't mention if we offered him a scholarship. I added what recruiting profiles I could find to the list at the beginning of the thread.
  6. Don't really see Penn State or Nebraska running the table. These guys are used to comparing teams in the conferences with the MAC teams always being on the road. Would PSU survive four road trips in the MAC? Probably not, and certainly not if they got NIU or BGSU on the road.
  7. It's a photo-shopped re-color of the pic of LeBron wearing the uniform he bought for St Vincent St Mary.
  8. Better betting trend: Marshall is 1-9 ATS as road favorites under Doc Holliday.
  9. The Browns' hegemony already includes Columbus. Looks like they'd be better served by having camp in Toledo every few years if they want to capture a significant state market.
  10. http://www.ohio.com/blogs/ua-zips/university-of-akron-zips-blog-1.277207/zips-football-sophomore-rb-may-be-in-line-for-more-action-1.523434 We might see more of Hakeem Lawrence. I'm fine with that. Maybe Chisholm will get the message that he needs to spend less time stutter-stepping in the backfield while the defense closes in.

  12. HerdNation's look-a-like thread Charleston Gazette article
  13. Is this the blackout game?
  14. Marshall is a horrendous road team.

  16. They also disqualify anything that badmouths the competition.
  17. I read through the rules. They are moderating the Facebook posts and Tweets. Only the ones that actually follow the challenge are getting counted. Just spamming the hashtag or saying something like "You need to vote" with it will not get counted towards the vote totals.
  18. Joe Bruin is making a last-minute push. Vote!
  19. It would mean that they have 20 times more people voting for them. Vote bots don't work since voting is tied to a Facebook account.
  20. As best as I can tell, nobody is is actually voting for Joe Bruin on social media. It's a mystery to me that this contest is as close as it is. If you're going to the soccer game tonight, there might be an opportunity for Zippy signs. If we get a couple dozen people that do that, we can blow this thing open.
  21. UCLA's making a big push right now. Don't forget, you can vote 50 times per day. Also don't forget that the winning school gets a scholarship.
  22. It's a freaking soccer field, not some piece of sacred ground.
  23. Browns camp would bring more attention and media coverage to our campus in the span of a few weeks than every athletic and academic achievement combined over the course of an entire year. Recruits hear about having a pro team on the campus. Prospective students and their parents hear about UA. So the pitch might get a little muddy. I say it's worth it and it's not even debatable. It won't get ruined nearly as bad as you might think. It's probably the most well-drained area of grass in Ohio. The pitch is tougher than you think, and the groundskeepers obsess over it. They'll keep it in great condition.
