That is an incredible gift. The Audiology program is an overlooked part of UA, hidden away in the lower levels of the Polsky Building, just below the IT school, UA's other hidden gem. Big scholarship donations for programs like this can instantly vault them to competitiveness on a national level. Kids tend to go to the university that offers them the most scholarship money, especially for highly specialized programs where the applicant pool is not very large.

This win was great and may be the key win of the season, but the bowl game was bigger for the overall football program. One was nationally televised, the other was streamed on a webcam at the same time as the NFL. From the perspective of wins catching recruits attention, this last game might as well not have happened.

We should be favored over Kent, Miami, and Buffalo to varying degrees, and we get Ohio at home. I like our chances to at least get to a bowl game.

Scoring early put WMU on their heels and the defense played well enough to keep them off-balance once they didn't answer immediately. I think that's the reason for some of WMU's offensive playcalling. Their coaches panicked (though they would never admit that) and started throwing more than they needed to because they were playing from behind. I can't tell you how often I see coaches go away from what works once they have a points deficit to make up, only for it to make things worse.

If you can't match them strength for strength, you make the game ugly, play gritty, and hope for a few bounces your way. That's basic strategy for winning against teams with more natural talent.
