  1. Periscope it. Somebody has to have a webcam in the press box or something.
  2. When the field bubbles up like that, it's finished. WMU now has an expensive turf replacement project on their hands. One that hopefully includes a revamp of their drainage systems while things are torn up. I'd be surprised if they can play another game on that turf this season.
  3. They're going to need one hell of a pump system to get that cleaned up. And they'll also have to replace all the rubber turf pellets that will float away. I'm not sure where they'd even pump the water to. The entire region is seeing catastrophic flooding from these storms.
  4. Do you have any studies or empirical evidence whatsoever to back up your claims? This circlejerk is getting tiresome. Somebody, anybody, please back up their claims instead of bloviating back and forth forever.
  5. I'm just hoping that WMU is physically exhausted after playing a 7OT game. That's seven drives on offense and seven drives on defense. That's like playing an extra half of a football game.

  8. Before Liberty moved up, I would agree with you that the attendance requirement should be removed, because of the requirement that move-ups have to have a conference invitation in-hand before the move. Liberty removed that requirement with the threat of anti-trust lawsuits and now any program can be FBS as an independent. So now the only real barrier to moving up is the attendance requirement, which is really just a financial barrier. Only teams that are serious about it will make the move.
  9. This can not be repeated enough. It's bad enough that our ticket sales are struggling without Akron fans on here calling for us to be held to a standard that literally no other venue in the country uses.
  10. The area north of Kalamazoo/Grand Rapids is the Manistee National Forest, and it is beautiful in the fall. Especially if you like off-roading down jeep trails. There are some pretty big sand dunes on the shores of Lake Michigan at a place called Silver Lake State Park.
  11. We looked like that under Ianello. Like a high school team playing against adults.
  12. To be somewhat fair, he's their backup and they're also missing their starting RB. Ball State's offense is completely wrecked by injuries. Still, the way our defense was playing I don't know if a healthy Ball State makes it any closer.
  13. RPI is out: http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer-men/d1/ncaa-mens-soccer-rpi

It's not typical rust belt desperation and decay. Perhaps that broadened perspective gained from your travels needs to be re-calibrated a bit, scottditzen.
  15. Feds = tax evasion. Also, this isn't the end. Typically, you start with low-level targets and get them to flip to testify against the big targets in exchange for lighter sentences.
  16. As part of the Big Ten, Purdue gets more from the college football playoff (all D-I FBS schools are purportedly a part of the agreement) than Akron's entire athletic budget. every single year. That's not counting TV money, which I am fine with as a "free market" system (along with merchandising) unlike the playoff contract payouts which should be evenly distributed to create a competitive environment since athletic competition should operate in a way that is fair to all competitors. So yeah, Purdue has no idea how good they have it, to say nothing of OSU and Michigan.
  17. It's easier to eat a few years of a coach's contract when your conference gets a share of the playoff money every year. The Big 12 gets over $20 million from it every year. the MAC gets about $1 million to split between all its members. And then we get to hear talk about how if we wanted to be "big time" we should spend more money. How many power conference programs would financially collapse if the playoffs distributed money mostly equally like the pro sports leagues do?
  18. That's a hell of a statement for either of you to just throw out there without any supporting arguments or data.
  19. If only we could airlift the tailgating field and put it outside the Info.
  20. We adjusted to what Troy was giving us. Look much better in the second half so far. Weren't we 17-point underdogs? Not too bad of a result, no matter how this game shakes out.
  21. So just as the team was starting to win and had a pretty good coaching staff, we voluntarily death-penalty the them and bring them back as the NCAA's first attempt at a crowdfunded athletic program?
  22. Giving Kato a quarter and a half of reps is invaluable.
  23. Talent differences aside, does it look like we have improved in any way from last week? I'm not sure we can say that we have.
