  1. And his twitter said I'm not done yet earlier today.
  2. Yes, I used this on Friday when we took the kids to see Shrek the Musical at Northwest High. The first peep the baby made I volunteered to take her "for a walk". I got to catch the Zips come back to tie the game only to lose it at the end.
  3. Do we see any zone defense to try to conserve energy on the defensive end? Probably unlikely for a team that has played man 99% of possessions.
  4. Now ideally we want a center to replace pat in this class as well? A possible red shirt behind big dog of the other power forwards can play some backup minutes at center
  5. Exactly. I did go back and reread the email I got back and here is what it said where they did leave the opportunity open for someone to sing without purchases tickets.. I never got any correspondence for any games where they decided to play the recording instead. Also, I own numerous season tickets to most sports so why should I have to buy 20 more to be able to help the university out. We are both alumni as well. Thanks for your e-mail. We fill most of our National Anthem slots with groups who purchase tickets for the opportunity to sing. There are games were we are unable to fill the slot and I’d be happy to offer one of those to your wife. I will be in touch as opportunities arise.
  6. I asked about my wife singing the anthem a couple times the past couple years for soccer and basketball after sending someone in the athletic department one of our Carrie Underwood Akron Zips rewrite songs. I was told for soccer the sound system was too bad for a live singing of it (I understand if that's the case). For basketball they told me they only let people sing if it is a large group. However, I know earlier this year for 1 or 2 games they had someone sing solo. I guess I am not a big enough donor and they would rather play the CD instead.
  7. I came away with the "moral victory" tonight and saw enough from the team without Noah to say they will win out and win the MAC tourney! This group plays well together and I think the best is yet to come.
  8. Miami up 5 in. BG with 9 minutes left
  9. It will be interesting to see who gets the backup point guard minutes. Evans, maybe deji, and maybe the walk on Walters will get 5-7 minutes
  10. Maybe I have bad eyes but I don't see Noah in the layup line
  11. Check that he is in uniform, but not really participating in shooting drills
  12. Deji is warming up. I don't see Noah out there right now
  13. Hard to believe we will have all the snow melted and the field will be ready in less than a month.
  14. We also have Ivey next year who can play SG. It will be interesting to see who redshirts and how much people play. We can't really go from an 11 man rotation to 12 can we?
  15. Nice little story in Zips Line today. Read the La A QUICK STORY I WANTED TO SHARE Our 13th-ranked Rifle team competed Saturday at the University of Mississippi, earning a hard-fought and -shot 4.601-4,591 victory over the No. 17 Rebels. That’s a great win for our program, but what made this trip particularly memorable was a man in the crowd wearing a Zips shirt. Although there are Zips fans all over the world, Oxford, Miss., is not exactly a hot-spot for UA alumni, so it was a pleasant surprise to see someone there wearing our gear. After 36 years as our Head Coach (following his time as a UA Rifle team member), Newt Engle knows everyone associated with our program. Since this gentleman wasn’t related to one of our current student-athletes or a former Rifle letterwinner, Newt walked over to introduce himself to a smiling stranger who was waving and cheering for our team. His name is Perry Arrington, and he’s the brother of our late Football Assistant Head Coach, Alan “Tank” Arrington. An Ole Miss grad, Perry is from Mississippi and lives there today. He told Newt that it was the first time he ever attended an Ole Miss event wearing the colors of another school, but he wanted to cheer for the Zips because of how much our school and athletics department meant to his brother and family. We all miss Tank every day, and we think often about Perry, Tank’s wife Gail, Tank’s mother Gale, and their entire family … it means a lot to us that we still have a Zips fan in Mississippi, especially because all of us here in Akron who had the honor to know Tank always will be lifelong Arrington fans.
  16. I think for the past few years we don't announce the class on signing day. Not sure if it has to deal with still finalizing what international recruits are coming in or what. On another topic, did anyone else get something in the mail that the soccer team is doing their once every 4 years international trip to Brazil this summer? I'm glad Victor will be able to show the guys his home country.
  17. I can't make it due to family commitments. I have 3 free GA tickets. PM me if interested.
  18. And they removed that blank now. Riggins must have been a surprise today.
  19. So is the only blank to fill in on Go Zips Joe Riggins who is no longer coming or does TB have one more recruit? Last name between M and S
  20. So Boxen did what D'Orazio did many years ago. He didn't enroll in school that first fall after high school graduation, thus not starting his 5 years to play 4 years clock.
