  1. Keep in mind not only will the tower run a full 100 yards. It has another 3 floors to be added.
  2. Yeah. I haven't been paying close attention, but I suspect they are working on more concrete collumns. Before the last batch of iron went up, then spent a few weeks putting up those concrete pillars that are between the steelwork and the lower bowl. I think they are doing more of those on the south side now.The CAM's don't do the site true justice. There tons of work going on and friend of mine's just got back from Akron and couldn't believe what they got done last week alone while he was there. There steel going up out of view and look at how much steel work they completed last week in view including installing the steel where the upper deck will come into the club seats infront of the suites.I beg to differ. They still appear to be working like gangbusters to me.
  3. .....unless your AKRONOr Miami 2001 7-52002 7-5 2005 7-4NIU2002 8-42003 10-22005 7-5Toledo2000 10-12003 8-4Western Michigan2000 9-32005 7-4 Ohio 2000 7-42007 6-6Bowling Green2001 8-32002 9-3The MAC has been getting screwed out of bowls worst then delusional SBC.
  4. Very Funny But, everyone here needs to keep one thing in mind. This site drains very well given they haven't installed field drainage and the extra amount of heavy rain Metro Akron has gotten this year. The last two heavy rains haven't left the amounts from the previous rainfalls as they've graded the field area. Once the drainage system goes in. I doubt with the exception of few puddles, you'll be able to tell it has rained at all.
  5. I'm not worried about either as the SBC will get exposed as the delusional BCS buester conference they claim to be. They've managed to beat a mediocre 7-6 Alabama, 1-11 Minnesota and went 1-1 Vs 6-7 Oklahoma. Florida Atlanta beat Memphis in their bowl game. They lost all of the other BCS games they played and most of them very, very badly. The years prior just about everyone was losing ugly and this conference is not about to be breakout conference.Scoring late TD's in games Vs BCS teams who were long past resting their starters to take 59-7 game and make it 59-20 final is not an upcoming conference. I'm just tired of the comments of the MAC not being better then SBC when the MAC has been beating this conference head to head the past few years. UofA is 2-1 Vs the SBC in their last three games. They gave 2nd place Middle Tennessee St the Motor City bid in 2006. Central Michigan 31 MTSU 14. The clue should have been a month prior South Carolina beat MTSU 52-7.The SBC getting bowl bids gets more cash for the SBC. But, all it does for the bowl is assures more blowouts losses with low attendance and low viewed games.Four time SBC champion North Texas was 1-3 in bowl games and never sold their allotments. This conference is full of teams struggling to draw 15,000 to their home games. They surely don't travel well.Southern Miss bringing a truckload of fans to the 2004 New Orleans Bowl saved the bowl from the extinction list. The prior year then 3 time SBC Champion North Texas Vs Memphis just barely drew 18,000 est 15,000 was Memphis fans.I forget to mention Troy in 2004 in the now defunct Silcon Valley Bowl lost to another MAC team Northern Illinois 34-21.This conference doesn't fare well Vs the MAC and is glorified tune-up for most BCS teams and they deserve bowl bids?
  6. This arrangement is joke. The SBC champion struggles in the New Orleans Bowl Vs 3rd and 4th place C-USA teams. Someone missed on this one as 8-4 SBC are nothing more then gloried tune-ups for most BCS teams. Florida Atlantic won the SBC last year at 7-5. They lost 42-6 to 6-6 Oklahoma St. They did beat 1-11 Minnesota 42-39. But, lost to Kentucky 45-17, South Florida 35-23 and Florida 59-20. They also lost to La Monroe 33-30 who at 6-6 won have been one of those bowl eligible teams. Their lone non conference win was over Grambling. They lost 35-17 to Tulsa, 49-26 to Clemson and 54-14 to Texas A&M.Troy the 2nd place in the SBC did upset Oklahoma St 41-23. But, they lost to Arkansas 46-26, Florida 59-31, Georgia 44-34 and Florida Atlantic at home 38-32, which is why they lost the conference championship. The MAC owns the SBC head to head in recent years and this arrangement has more to do with the shrewdness of the SBC commissioner and his being a snake oil salesman. Because right now the SBC is not better then the MAC. The SBC is a conference full of gloried tune-ups for most real BCS teams. Wins over the likes of Rice and Memphis in the past tow bowl games and regular seasons wins over 1-11 Minnesota, 6-6 Oklahoma St and 7-5 Bama in 2006 doesn't show this conference is up and coming when you have teams like North Texas losing games 79-10 to Oklahoma, 66-7 to Arkansas and scoring 62 points in regulation Vs Navy. But, still losing the game 74-62, shows how truly weak this conference is. The North Texas scores are just a few of the ugly losses this conference takes every year.
  7. Not true--The Carrier Dome in Syracuse is on campus and I assure you can can drink all the overpriced beer you want until the end of halftime. So Kangaroo fans bring your $$$ to Syracuse this fall.BTW, Syracuse offers Bud products (Brewery in town) but if you go on the first level I heard you can find LaBatt's and SaranacClick on the Right Side For Syracuse Tailgate and Visitor InfoYou're more then a tad late. I already posted that NCAA has no such rule and any alcohol bands are left up to the schools and the conferences. The SEC has ban on alcohol regardless to on-campus or not. Alcohol sales are banned at SEC events. If, you watch the SEC football championships or basketball here in Atlanta. The alcohol concessions open for Atlanta Falcons games are closed.
  8. I live in the SE part of the country and I for one can tell you. The MAC has a far better reputation and is thought of far more highly in this part the country then the SBC. It may have to due with the MAC coming in and winning the GMAC Bowl in Mobile while the SBC for the most part gets their butts handed to them by mid pack CUSA teams in the New Orleans Bowl. Or the 79-10 type losses many of the SBC teams take at the hands of SEC teams for the most part every year.
  9. The Sun Belt has only passed the MAC due to Troy success last year which IMO was no different from NIU a couple of years ago. Can the SUN belt maintain those dollars? I doubt it given the MAC has been beating the Sun Belt head to head as of late. I look for this to continue because IMO, the Sun Belt is without a doubt the worse conference in the country. Beating a medicore Alabama, and mediocre Oklahoma St and Minnesota the Big 10+1 cellar dwellers last season is nothing to write home about. The so called elite teams of the Sun Belt are not beating the top teams in the MAC. I don't look for the SBC to take any steps up when most of their teams are nothing more then a glorified tune-ups.Troy knocked off 7-6 Oklahoma St last year 41-23Troy lost to Arkansas 46-26, Florida 59-31 and Georgia 44-34. Troy St lost to Florida Atlantic 38-32 and FAU won the Sun Belt.FAU lost to Oklahoma St 42-6, (Proves what a goofy conference the SBC is) Kentucky 45-17, South Florida 35-23 and Florida 59-20.My point is Troy is not capable of knocking off better then average BCS teams and crashing any BCS parties right now. In 2006 they lost to a medicore Nebraska 56-0 , UAB 21-3, FSU 24-17 and Ga Tech 35-20.In the past two seasons Troy has beaten 7-6 Oklahoma St and Rice in bowl game 41-17. That's hardly the stuff of a BCS buster. The SBC may have gotten more dollars then the MAC because of couple of BCS wins over medicore and cellar dweller BCS teams. But, given the MAC owns the SBC head to head over the past few seasons says that was not justified.
  10. AWESOME!!! I like the "A" design on the light towers. Also, that DEFINETELY looks like a restaraunt in the north endzone, with the windows there. If you're talking about the two story facility in the North enzone. I thought that was going to be the entrance to the home lockerrooms and part of the fieldhouse. The two glass structures on top of the facility look like street-level entrances. If it was part of the fieldhouse, there wouldn't be a need for entrances from Vine street. Plus, if it is connected undergtound from the fieldhouse, why wouldn't they just use the fieldhouse lockerrooms?According to the UofA site. The endzone facility is a two story building and is for game day operations for the team and the naming rights are being sold for 5,000,000. My guess is part of it will team area used for home games.

  12. I think the decision on alcohol sales is ultimately up to the conference, after the individual school. I know a guy from Georgia who says the SEC has a ban on alcohol sales at all athletic events, which is mind boggling to me. Football and beer, what a great marriage. As I posted earlier. The NCAA has no such band. It's up to the conferences and schools. While the SEC ban is true. I do believe that alcohol is available in the suites or loges. I know there were no alcohol concession sales in the Georgia Dome for the SEC championship due to SEC rules. But, I've seen drinks flowing in the suites.
  13. I doubt this one. After seeing the Zips play a couple times out in that dump to the East, my only enjoyment there comes from a victory and the fact that I can buy a beer and drink it in my seat.Rowdy is correct. The NCAA has no such ban. The USA TODAY did an article about this very thing just last year.A USA TODAY survey of the 119 schools in the NCAA's major football-playing Division I-A found that nearly half (54) allow the sale of alcohol — through public concessions, in private suites or both — at one or more playing venues.I know I've seen alcohol in the A Man Club or whatever it's called these days that was built under the Rubber Bowl pressbox. I'm assuming UofA is included in that 54.
  14. Despite NE Ohio very wet and rainy spring and early summer. Per UofA they're ahead of schedule at this point. The site drains well and please note they keep working unless it's lighting in the area.
  15. those aren't just any assorted trolls and morons. Those are the fine alumni and students of can't stateI have no doubts that some of them are just that. I find it funny many of them slam the Morrison House deal which still is unresolved. But, applaud with Joe Nemer is getting.
  16. Like another one of the reponses. This does not effect the stadium. This is property for the much needed dorms that will surround the stadium. The stadium is still on budget and this once again effects the dorm piece of the propect which has already been delayed from Dec 2009 completion to August 2010.I don't think UofA can walk away from this. In my opinion they'll appeal and some sort of agreement will be worked out along the way. UofA needs the property and Joe Nemer is going to get a nice sum one way or another. This also assures his greedy cousin Manny will as well whenever his trail comes up in the near future. It's an election year and Spicer whimped out on this one leaving it up to circuit court to rule if this jury erred or not. That's 50/50 with Joe Nemer being in a stronger position with UofA trying to show this jury erred, which IMO they did.I'm also through arguing with the trolls and other assorted morons posting at the ABJ blogs. I can't believe there so many negative brain dead people out there with a computer ready to post that crap against UofA and the City of Akron. The City of Akron would truly be dead without UofA and I applaud all the great things going on and don't speak like those assorted trolls and morons other there.
  17. Anyone still having trouble. Try cleaning your cache and deleting the site if you have it bookmarked and reload it again.Mine's is working fine now and the new 3 Cams load much faster.
  18. Mine's cameback only after I cleaned my cache.
  19. Excellent pictures for a cell phoneIt really helps those of us out of state going through Cam withdrawal while they're off line.
  20. I don't think that's the problem. They were working yesterday and they repointed Cam 2 towards the home side as the steel work was kicking into high gear. They froze on my computer around 2pm to 3pm in the afternoon. I attempted to reboot and have been unable to get them back since.Bottom line is they were working for most of yesterday on my computer and IMO, they were not knocked by any storms in the area. I'm thinking this is more of technical glitch right now. They have new picture today from the new Cam 2 view from yesterday's work.
  21. That correct. They repointed Cam 2 towards the home stands and it worked for awhiled. Then I notice the cars had stopped moving and one worker standing on the same steel beam not moving. I tried rebooting and lost themHopefully they'll have it corrected by tomorrow. They had some serious steel work going and I liked the new view for Cam 2.
  22. They repointed Cam2 and it's now pointed towards the home stands. They both went down on me today as well. But, came back up after I rebooted.Lots of steel work done on the home side today. I hope they keep these two Cams pointed at the home side and add cam 3 back looking towards the visitors side from the Fieldhouse.
  23. They changed the view in cam 2.A huge crane is now blocking part of Cam 1. I hope that just tempy
  24. You're either joking or you have computer issues. My cams are fine and It's a Sunny day in Akron.
  25. I suspect that will happen next week. Anyone know what the concrete rows they poured in the visitor side stands area are?You suspect right More steel going up today. I'm so excited
