UNT lost 77-20 to Rice this weekend and are 0-4 this season and none of their four losses have been remotely close games. All blowouts losses where K-State, Tulsa, LSU and Rice were able to play back-ups after building big leads. That's on the heels of 3-9 the past two seasons and 3-8 in 2005 season. Methinks UNT raising 40 million even in Texas will be a bigger task then the AD thinks.

Yes at certain times of the day I could see the Morrison house in CAM 3It looks like it's gone. But, because of the cloud cover today. I'm not really sure.I just drove by. It's still there, fully intact. They are making more progress on the ramp located in the back yard, though.ThanksI still can't see it and I'm sure it was visible in Cam 3 just past the visitors locker room.

It looks like the Morrison Son house is gone

I thought those properties were already demolished. Either way, it's good to see another loose end tied up in this whole eminent domain mess. Those properties were demolished. But, they appealed anyway with the lame excuses and that's why they lost on appeal.
-
Also the shot is not showing there more room between that tunnel and those trees. If, you look in Cam shots you'll notice just how much room there is where the last part of the stadium property will fit. It's all moot as Manny's properties will be in UofA hands no later the first of next year. He'll either settle through the mediator or take his chances going to court without the real estate broker making speculation claims on the future value on his properties.Like I said earlier. Judge Spicer has already ruled that the appraisals only will be used in Manny's trail and no real estate broker who was unlicense to make appraisals this time around. That's why both sides have agreed to mediation. Something Manny and his attorneys had refuse until this point.
-
There nothing to extend. Go back and look at the designs. The Visitors stands end where they currently are. Dorms were supposed to go other side of the tunnel you see being built next to the trees. The endzone area is totally owned by UofA. One half of the parking lot you see in the picture that touches UofA property will become part of UofA property in December. The bottom line is all of Manny toilets sit where dorms are supposed to go and is not blocking the stadium footprint.

The lastest on good ole Manny care of Summit County Probate Court. Letter from mediator Lisbeth M. Bulmash to all counsel of record, scheduling mediation for Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at 9:30 A.M..Like I said earlier. Manny will settle before his Dec 2nd court date.

Great shot. I'm going to use this over at the ABJ blogs the next time that moron Akronite posts (if he ever does with new posting restrictions for morons like him) about being a Manny relative and claiming how construction is parked all over the Manny's parking lot everyday blocking customers.Someone care to point out any construction equipment in Manny's dump lots? That parking is in such bad shape. A small backhoe would fall through it.

They block no parts of the stadium. Aroma, chopstix and Mannys block are an area where dorms were going to go. You can clearly see the visitors side stands and field entrance are behind the trees between them and Aroma, chopstix and Mannys. But, it's matter of time before Manny settles with UofA.1) He can't use the real estate broker that his cousin used in his trial.2) After legal fees and court costs Joe Nemer take is 1.3 mil. That's only about 100,000 more then UofA offered Joe in the 1st place. He doesn't see a dime of the other 800,000 which means bottom line he should neogiated with UofA instead of playing hard ball.3) Manny would have to be complete moron to go to trial now, as without the Real estate broker who was speculating price. The jury will base there findings on three appraisals which from all indications are not in Manny favor. 4) I'm betting Mid October early November latest Manny will settle.

I'm sure the visitors side will have it's own restrooms and concession stands built under the stands.
-
The big crane is moving around today after sitting idle since before Labor Day. Maybe well get to see the final three floors of the press tower start to go up today.
-
The overall project needs 100 mil and at the rate they're going. They'll never raise it.
-
On the Visitors side they currently putting in the visitors locker room which will go under the visitors stand. If, look down towards Exchange St on the Visitors side you can see the entrance and the area they've been working on is under the stands behind the lower stands is the visitors locker room. The endzone facility they're currently removing dirt for will house the gameday locker room for UofA.

I love how despite heavy rains in the area. They're working.

How the Sun Belt Conference inflates their attendance
bigham78 posted a topic in Akron Zips Football
Many here were saying the SBC is good draw as too why they're getting the Bowl bids over the MAC. I've said the SBC knows how to play the game.Arkansas was cheered on by a home crowd at Little Rock's War Memorial Stadium, but the Razorbacks were technically the visitors under an agreement that allowed Louisiana-Monroe to count the game's attendance of 55,048.This is the 2nd time ULM has done this in three years. They've played Arkansas four out of the last 5 years and all of games in Arkansas. Every other time they play ULM gets the attendance count for the game. But, Arkansas still gets the revenues. The SBC uses deception like this to claim what a big draw they are. A doormat like ULM will proceed to draw 5,000 to 10,000 per game for the remaining 5 home games. But, will brag about drawing over 75,000 to 90,000 for the season went actually 54,000 of those fans are not even theirs. Outside of Arkansas St and Troy the SBC doesn't draw jack once they get into the heart of their home games. A team like MTSU will start with 20,000 to begin the season but, once they're turn out medicore a quick check of their late season home games will see less then 5,000. The SBC manipulates their numbers with deals like ULM-Arkansas to inflate their anemic attendance. The MAC has drawn well at the Motor City Bowl, GMAC and International bowl. The New Orleans Bowl will feature over 55,000 empty seats for the usual 19,000 or less to see the The SBC Champion play a 3rd or 4th place C-USA team. UofA out sold many Big 10 and Big 12 teams in tickets for the Motor City Bowl a couple of years ago.North Texas was four time SBC champion 2001-2004 and never sold their full allotment in any of those years and the amount they brought actually went down over the four years. That's why it makes no sense too the SBC is getting bowl deals. -
Watching Ball State vs Navy and...
bigham78 replied to Ryno aka Menace's topic in Akron Zips Football
I agree. The Zips will need to play better on defense to beat beat this team.I very impressed with Ball St on both sides of the ball. -
I saw that.Lots of progress today.
-
I don't think they've slowed down. I just think not as much was done today after the 3 day weekend. Methinks it will be going like gangbusters again in the coming days.

It still doesn't include Manny's Pub and Aroma/Chopstix. The parking lot is settled though.I posted the same thing it doesn't include Manny's dumps. The parking lot is only half settled. Joe and Manny jointly owned the parking lot and UofA now owns Joe half of the lot. Manny will settle. A good friend of mines and UofA grad was just there for Labor Day weekend and got back to town today. He said Manny's Pub was mostly closed over the Labor Weekend and when it was opened there was all of three people in there including the bartender (Not Manny). Aroma coffee still getting just a couple of Akron Cops and assorted drunks and derelicts.
-
Wait a minute. These are just Joe and Mona Nemer properties and 50% of the parking lot he shares with his cousin Manny. UofA still has to get Manny rat holes which are Manny's Pub 451 E Exchange, Aroma Coffee 445 E Exchange and Chopstix also 445 E Exchange (Those addresses are not included). Only a matter of time as I'm sure Manny now knows 2 mil for his crap is out of the question. Joe and Mona Nemer still only get 1.3 mil for their property. The other 800 k is attorney fees and litigation-related expenses.

They're hard at work digging the area out for the endzone facility and they getting closer to pouring for the lower section on the pressbox side.
-
I caught that this morning. I expect the pace to really pick up in the coming weeks with the lower tier close to being ready to be poured and the upper levels of the tower to start going up.
-
I think 45 feet is going to bit higher then that smaller crane Currently, the structure looks imposing with several floors of the press box tower making its mark on the Akron skyline. However, the tower still has 45 more feet (or three more levels) to go before completion. To this point, the top level of the tower will be the bottom of the club level, which will also house Akron’s loge boxes.

HEY!!!! THE FIRST STEEL OF THE NEXT 3 FLOORS JUST WENT UP!!! DOH... it was just the small crane... looked like more steel Don't feel bad. That smaller crane has fooled me a couple of times.
