Thanks for the info.I'm hoping for four poles or more. I've viewed dozens of stadiums on the net and three light poles is HS looking IMO. I wish they'd went ahead and did the five on top of the upper deck in the graphics. That more of college football look IMO. I don't know why they felt the need to change that look.

http://www.ohio.com/news/51913187.htmlI just want them to get it over it and resolved so they can tear that eyesore of house down.

I thought they said it would be too slippery.I don't know who "they" are, but I remember posting somewhere that sod only takes two to three weeks to root.I would be a little amazed to see fans on it this year. It already looks AWESOME! I love it.That was in one of the articles in ABJ they (Project Manager) was saying they would be planting grass as Sod would be too slippery. I thought it was odd as well as when Sod takes root after couple of weeks it far from slippery I've seen over the years. If, you can play football on Sod after couple of weeks. Surely it would be okay on slight slope in about Six weeks and couple of days.

I'd imagine it will stay made out of the blue tarp thing. Aren't the speakers right behind it? Fabric makes sense because a plastic sign there would make the audio sound terrible.Forgot about the audio. You're right they won't enclose that in plastic.

YepThat clearly a Sod pile at the top of the hill.I thought they said it would be too slippery.I guess we'll find out.

How can you tell?I can just barely make out that it says InfoCision Stadium. But, can't see anything that says it's misspelled. It did appear to be flapping this morning and I hope that means it was tempy and not the final product.

I hope it's four or more.

My friend and I did a significant walk around last night, and the thing you see that looks "like a start" is actually holding the support cable for the field goal net.I do have some decent (in my opinion) pics that I am going to throw up on my flicr. I would do it here but the couple times I've tried to upload to an albulm, it fails out on me. (my fault I know, but if there is a secret, please point me in the right direction)Thanks,I was trying to to get a good look at that and could't tell the net wire was attached to it.I've seen them put up all kinds of light towers in nothing flat over years. The original lights at Wrigley Field they put up in less then two weeks and that was 21 years ago. No biggie on the installation front.I was just wondering if the hardware had been delivered.

To go along with this, many teams do a Pre-Game walk to the stadium from much farther away than 100ft.Try Va Tech for one. Their walk is much further then one UofA will use. They have gameday rooms in the stadium for pre game and haltime and use their state of the art practice facilities for dressing and they're much further away then UofA short walk. I know of couple of schools that used buses back in the 1970's as practice facilities were on one side of campus and the stadium was on another. Penn St UofA opponent in few weeks did that until the 1978 season when they expanded the locker room facilities at Beaver Stadium when they did the first of many stadium expansions. But, until then they had gameday rooms at Beaver Stadium and had to cross a minor highway to get to the football facilities where they dressed. They were not the only ones that used buses for an on campus Stadium and there still few out there that do the same thing today.I agree with UofA and spending 3 mil to tunnel through sandstone was an expense they didn't need at this time.

I know there's plenty of time. But, any of our locals see any signs of the light towers for the east side? It does look like begining of something at the end of the upper deck. But, I can't tellI'm still hoping they do more then three towers and have something close to the original design.

ThanksI get to update my wallpaper.

It also looks like they have all those scoreboard sections back up across the bottom.

As stealth as those bomb shelter entrances are, I would still doubt that they would bear any load should additional seating be added above. I would think the seating would be built with similar steel support as the east and west stands -- hey, maybe those columns for the wrought iron fence are strategically placed to be the base for future steel? Never know. Also, looking at the height of the north end zone building and its proximity to the field, if seating were added above, would not virtually all the fans be unable to see the back of the end zone? As nice as it will be to have the grassy knoll behind the south end zone, I think that end actually is more conducive to adding additional permanent seating. The sights lines certainly would be better. All I know is those stairway entrances have more roof layers then buildings at the South Pole.

I saw those. I was wondering if maybe they were over to the info today and wanted to hang some banners.

Info to Expand to 44k - Can You Believe It?

AgreedNorth Texas who can't fill their current 30,000 stadium, has backed off plans for 50,000 seat new facility and now are raising funds towards a 30,000 new stadium.I'll never forget coming across that story and thinking here's a program that was struggling to draw 15K when they were winning the rent-a-win SBC. But, laid out these delusional plans for 50,000 new stadium. I guess they must have thought going from the usual 15,000 to 20,000 empty seats to 35,000 to 40,000 empty seats was what they needed. -
Those stairs should never leak with the layers they've put on them.

why should they play wake forest? if you want to play bottom-feeders, at least go to the pac-10, or big-10Wake is not a bottom feeder at this time. Here's the last three seasons2006 11-3 ACC Champions 2007 9-42008 8-5They're 2-1 in Bowl GamesThey're 3-0 VS Florida St (Not saying much since they're down as of late)All their losses except 3 games over the past three seasons have been competitive games.I hardly see 8 wins per season in the past three season as a bottom feeder and ACC conference championship with BCS Bowl as being anywhere close to being a bottom feeder.

I've seen 30 and 40 story buildings go up faster when I lived in Chicago then those stairwell buildings.
-
As soon as I read that I thought tha same thing. They have been working on those things forever. They must be. That's most roof layers I've ever seen installed on stairwells. Those have to be the most insulated, rain and snow proof stairwells in Ohio.
-
I saw that.I'm always curious as too what they're delivering when I catch the trucks on the Cams.

They said sod would be too slippery to use the hill for seating. But, I don't feel grass would have time enough to grow and take root between now and 09/12. I'm with you on them using some type of sod on the hill as seed would had to been planted back in May timeframe. We'll have to wait and see.

It's great seeing the upper deck going in on the pressbox. They started working on the remaining part of the dech June 16th and today July 10th all the supports are in place and all that's left is the steel under the seats. That's amazing seeing all that completed to this point in less then a month.
