  1. Not official, but hearing rumblings about 2021 Brecksville QB Joe Labas. I saw on his Twitter that he received a BG offer. Local coach I know shared that he is "the real deal."
  2. Cornell messes up a gift at the end of regulation. 2-2 overtime.
  3. Down 1-0 at half. Ivy league team looking like the better squad. Hard to watch right now.
  4. I may take you up on your advice; Always wanted to see Coliseum.
  5. Another positive: We have a "turnover pencil" that was featured on an ESPN highlight!
  6. I simply would like to attend a game before January 2020.
  7. Wow, just when you thought the home offerings couldn't get any worse. This makes my $60 investment look like a poor one.
  8. From what I saw at Duquesne this year, the answer is no. Williams = he will upgrade his situation to a big conference Wade = looked lost at the DI level Bizeau = physical presence of Olive Oil Swingle previously kicked the tires of UA, so maybe??
  9. I nominate Mr. Sayles for the transfer down route.
  10. I don't think you are giving Dyer his proper due, as he knows his target audience well: 80-year-old Firestone Park residents.
  11. Talk about disappointing. Home losses are starting to pile up and the stadium was empty. Zero home field advantage in the Rubber City.
  12. I like what I saw in the 1st half. Good ball control, excellent strike by Egbo, and defense looks much improved with Muhammad on the right side.
  13. My wife asked me last night if the in-stadium announcer gets paid. Her thoughts, "If so, he needs fired."
  14. They needed a game like that. Started slow, but then they started to look like a Zips squad. Another beautiful night, where the hell are the students??
  15. If this group doesn't gel soon, the away schedule is going to eat them up. I'm hoping they get more from Abdi/Skye and a Zagac return would help too. Where has Kahsay been? Would like to see some minutes for Allen on backline.
  16. Fortunate to escape with a 1-0 win tonight. Pitt dominated the ball for a lot of the second half and took corner after corner. Defense gets clean sheet, but Pitt's lack of finishing was to blame.
  17. Denver 1-0 win...I didn't stick around for the "extra" 30min after the game. Tough to draw anything from the match. Looked like a team of strangers that may need some time to gel. Little time spent in the offensive third. I was hoping one of the newcomers would leave me saying "wow" and wanting more, but that did not happen. Hoping CSU game gives me something to work with. Beautiful weather, so this guy not complaining!
  18. Great info, thanks for taking the time to put this together!!! I truly wish we had a Zips columnist that showed this much passion and commitment to bringing exciting news to fans. Much appreciated.
  19. BTW, I like the ticket w/President Wilson. He makes me feel confident in the direction of this university.
  20. Tickets arrived today. Excited to get this season started. GO ZIPS!
  21. After six games, this team is about where most thought they would be at 3-3. The next six games make or break their season, Bowden's future with this school, and bowl eligibility. That schedule contains at least three wins, the question is: CAN THEY DO IT? Funny how two (2) weeks in college football can add a new perspective to things. GO ZIPS!!!!
  22. This summarizes the lack of my interest in Zips football in a nutshell. I follow this board religiously, but rarely attend games a matter of miles from my home. Complete lack of NFL talent and college atmosphere. It is sad that I have to travel to Ashland to achieve either/or...
  23. I try to give local writers the benefit of the doubt, but the GT article was lame. He focused too much on the negative and it lacked any useful information. I wish the Beacon would just assign him the Columbus State beat and find someone with a bit of enthusiasm for their job.
  24. This guy deserves a ton of credit thus far. I met him at the UA Graduate Chef Dinner and he could not have been nicer. He was put on the spot to give a quick speech and he delivered a thoughtful and classy response.
  25. This is an easy one for me: Jimmal Ball in his freshman year dropping in shots from everywhere on the court versus Xavier at the JAR. The back and forth big shots in that OT game defined college sports excitement. That was the day this guy became a Zips fan for life.
