  1. Coach Stroud is the recruiting coordinator and can be emailed at stroud@uakron.edu. If I had to guess, pad level is probably the answer to your first question.
  2. EA of the PD writes, Injuries Mount as Zips Keep Traveling. When will Noah be ready? "Who knows,'' Dambrot said. "He'll play when he's ready to play.'' What about Pat? "We've had X-rays, but we still don't know if he's got a broken rib or not,'' Dambrot said. "But he is still in pain." How about Jimond? "He's not quite ready yet, but he still may play, although I doubt it,'' Dambrot said of Ivey. All this, and the Zips are still favored by four. Game is on ESPN3 at 8 pm. Free stream found at go zips dot com. Congratulations to Antino, MAC East Player of the Week!
  3. Winners announced Saturday morning. Congratulations to last weeks winners, zippyfan34, and CK.
  4. Yes, Three for Thursday will have a special Wednesday appearance due to the early game. Stay tuned...
  5. Marla Ridenour article in the ABJ from March 7, 2013 entitled 'Zips freshman Jake Kretzer dealing with rapid heart rate scare' Get well Jake.
  6. The Senior Class will be honored during a pregame ceremony. Former Zips' QB Charlie Frye (2001-04) will be inducted into the Ring of Honor. I hope the forecast changes. Is playing in the rain becoming an advantage for the Zips because of experience? Maybe we can play in the Rain-X Bowl.
  7. Congratulations to zippyfan34, and CK!!! You reached your goal with two games to spare zippyfan34. PS If I remember correct, the bonus question was 7:22 left in the first quarter.
  8. I'm hoping your prediction is right on. Nice job.
  9. The Bulls played a lot of cover one in the first half. Give credit where credit is due. AJ and TW13 (receivers/o-line) beat a defense that was trying to stop our run game with (vertical passing attack) good play calling and execution. The second half, the Bulls adjusted their defense, and the Zips started to have success running the ball. Good game plan, good execution. The offense took what the defense was giving. Nice to see the offense take the pressure off the defense. With the maturity of TW13, the offense has evolved into a passing team that sets up our running game. Fun time to be a Zip fan. “I think Tommy’s ability to hit our explosive plays … that’s where we’re trying to evolve to,” -- Terry Bowden source Edit: Sorry Jrship, I just went back and read this. I guess we had the same evaluation.

  14. Agreed. Beth Nakamura did a great job with all the photos. Gives a nice detailed story. Good effort put into the piece.
  15. I know a team that likes MAC players that needs a safety with a high football IQ. I'm sure they will be at his pro day and have him in for a visit. JB1 projects as a late rounder right now. NFL prospect Jatavis Brown answers some questions. What NFL Scouts are saying “He's probably a safety at our level because of his size so we'll see how that transition goes. But I love his speed, the way he plays with violence and just the way he carries himself out there. I know our special teams coach will be excited to get his hands on him.” – AFC North scout
  16. Joe Licata passing stats for reference.
  17. Yes, it's on Fox Sports 1. Isn't the 303 in Denver? 330 is Akron. The game is at 4:30 EST. A couple of photos of last nights game found here at go zips dot com.
  18. I'm feeling good about my pick after last night.
  19. I wanted to include the question, "When will be the first time the Zips call an off tackle play for a RB?" I thought keeping track may be too difficult. Maybe for a tie breaker, you can guess the time of game that happens in this thread. It will be tough to determine though, and might be controversial.
  20. George Thomas writes about the game. What an awesome game. I'm still amazed at how Akron players were moving without the ball. I love this new offense! If our big guys can clean up their work around the rim, things are going to get interesting in Akron this year. For anybody that missed it live, I highly recommend watching the replay.
  21. Love our offensive tempo! Finally!
  22. Back spasms during warm ups according to SEC announcers.
  23. You don't need to sign up for anything, but you need to keep closing out of ads by hitting the "proper" x. If you have never used it before, just be very careful. Don't let anything download. I used to use this site, but have not for a long time. Too much squeeze for the juice. Way better alternatives now a days. I've never tried the wiziwig site. I'll give it a shot tonight. The game is on ESPN3, it says "your event is about to begin" right now. Like LoyalZip writes, starts at 8.
