  2. Don't kill the messenger. KP16 needs a good performance Saturday. Count how many times he gets to his second read. I'm counting the minutes until I hoist that Belgian. PS For those wondering, TW13 would rank 29th on the list but does not have enough attempts to qualify. Keep in mind all his attempts have been in blowouts one way or another.
  3. Ranked by passer efficiency, here are the MAC east QBs out of 126 in the country: #30 Licata (Buffalo) #46 Vick (Ohio) . . . #91 Frohnapfel (Umass) #95 Knapke (BG) #97 Hendrix (Miami) #110 Pohl (Akron) #119 Reardon (Ken+)
  4. The Illini have landed their first big-name recruit during the Groce era. Groce has long shown signs of being able to reel in the big fish — coming just short time and time again. Illini fans have been starving for signs of optimism for years now. While being teased by the likes of Alexander, Brunson and others, it has been clear that Groce has the wherewithal to bring this program to another level. He just needed one prospect to set off the avalanche. Jalen Coleman
  5. Coach Amato, what is your game plan against the Pitt offense?
  6. I knew what you meant, but I forgot to mention something about Marshall's coverage earlier, and used the opportunity.
  7. I wish. You will not see anybody in the MAC cover the x and z receivers the way they did. Very impressive coverage.
  8. The point was the "trend," but okay, I'll look it up for you.... 14 wins for 100 yard rushers, only 10 wins for 300 yard passers. Edit: Maybe a better way to put it, since Cheech & Chong, I mean, LeBackfield both had a 100 yard game last week would be: 8 losses for 300 yard passers, only 4 losses for 100 yard rushers.
  9. In the first three weeks of the NFL season there are eighteen games where a team has had a 100 yard rusher. In the same time span, there are eighteen games where a team has had a 300 yard passer. One would think as many times as the media repeats "the NFL is a passing league", the two would not be equal, with both being 18 games. This surprised me. Gil Brandt was discussing this on NFL radio. His simple explanation, the more teams try to defend the pass, the more the running game is there for the taking, and offenses are starting to adjust their game plan to a running attack. PS I'll be happy when the "bubble screen" becomes unpopular again.
  10. With the small conversation last week of the Zips practicing no running back offensive sets, I thought the stat below was interesting. And the fact that we are facing the nations leading rusher this week. "Through 3 weeks of the NFL season, there have been equal amount (18) of 100-yard rushing and 300-yard passing games." Isn't the NFL supposed to be a "passing league" now a days?
  11. Thanks for your input Jr. I'm glad to see you write this. It was interesting seeing coach Amato gather his group multiple times and do exactly what you wrote.
  12. He tweeted this article twice. The first time I believe it read, Brumbaugh, Hundley and Chisholm should all play. Weekend weather should be perfect...enough so, that I'm considering staying in town for Sunday's game. Does anybody think Tommy Woodson gets some meaningful snaps in his "hometown", or still too early?
  13. Not really. It's a choice, but only a less expensive choice. I drank one of the summer wheat's Saturday, that's probably my last one. The Siasons ale Red Sky was my first, but not my last.
  14. Maybe we should do what the "Big" ten is doing, tickets for $1.50!?!? How long can this last? Edit: Promotion pulled.
  15. Thanks for taking the time up05, nice job. I'll expand on your description of Carson street, it is for the twenty something crowd. Skip it if your in our late thirties or older. The last time I was there made me appreciate how good we have it in Ohio with our smoke free bars. I forgot how bad you smell when you wake up in the morning.

  18. Nice photos, I'll have some to share soon...I'm waiting for the sting to go away before viewing.
  19. No 0x personnel packages yesterday, both teams run 10 almost exclusively.
  20. Are you sure your not a Marshall fan?
  21. Marshall game beers.
  22. Will LBJ be there...with his new hair? Adobe Photoshop is kewl. I would guess K92 will be all over this. Two simple Z stickers on both doors, and he will be the talk of Lot 9. Might have to use the air, it's going to be 80 degrees Saturday.
  23. George writes that the Zips need to establish the run, and pass the ball accurately. Then stop Marshall's run offense, and stuff their receivers.
