  1. I'm assuming CK meant the "berth" to the Championship game. Seems like a fun goal this year. Mid-American Conference Championships 2014 Schedule Friday December 5th Ford Field
  2. Nov 4th against BG, per the color of the ticket. I can't wait to see the solution to the obvious question.
  3. Thank goodness I was at that game, and didn't have to listen to that! I really hope Reghi gets promoted to another market this year. He is really good.
  4. Thread on Dri has been started here. Plenty of opinion posted. Always fun to look back. The video highlight is a good indication of the potential I observed when he played the Zips.
  5. Spring, how about summer? Johnny Football bringing his talents to the Zip Strip? Watch out ladies.
  6. This may apply to only one or two people, but if they read it, and can take advantage, it will be worth the post. I'm a pretty big sports and music fan. More than a decade ago, I decided I had had it with normal radio, same normal music, and the sports coverage and discussion all but deteriorated. I bought a lifetime subscription to Sirius radio. I have been fairly satisfied throughout the years. While the product is excellent, they may have the worst customer service department on this planet. I have always had "free" internet access to channels and the on demand stuff (which is cool), but if I downloaded the app to my iPad or iPhone and entered my password it indicated that you need to upgrade your subscription. I think it's an additional $4 a month with a subscription. I really didn't care to spend more. Turns out, you don't have to. If anyone is in my exact situation, here is how to get your app working without an additional charge. Apparently the app does not work with "simple" passwords. A decade ago it was fine to use a password "abcdefg", now you should be using caps and numbers for security. I haven't logged into my account in years, because I had no need. If you simply log on to your account (not the internet player) from a browser, you will be prompted to change your password to a stronger one if you had a simple one. After you change to a stronger password, go back and enter that on your iPhone or iPad app...full access including all sports packages (MLB/NFL/NBA/NHL/NCAA). I found this "loophole" buried in a forum while searching for something totally different for a friend. This only applies to the subscribers that took advantage of the "lifetime" subscription a decade ago. They don't offer this anymore. I know this works for more than me, because I know two other people that have taken advantage since informing them.
  7. I nominate Nick Swisher. Then I can watch Tribe games again.
  8. Good point, great quote.
  9. I wrote earlier in this thread, that LBJ is a bigger man than me. I couldn't work for a guy that has the decision making skills that Dan has previously displayed. Although a real apology would go a long way in my book. I will forgive, if you really mean it. I would hope someday, LeBron reveals the tone of the apology meeting they supposedly had. While I am thrilled that LBJ is back, I won't be throwing, or attending any party themed "welcome back LBJ." I will watch more NBA this year than the last four combined. I like my 2010 prediction of him leaving a situation and not realizing how good he had.
  10. You are able to do it yourself. “There's two kinds of people in this world when you boil it all down. You got your talkers and you got your doers. Most people are just talkers, all they do is talk. But when it is all said and done, it's the doers that change this world. And when they do that, they change us, and that's why we never forget them. So which one are you? Do you just talk about it, or do you stand up and do something about it? Because believe you me, all the rest of it is just coffee house bullshit.”― David Della Rocco
  11. I like his attitude. Seems like he is putting himself in a position to succeed. "I just have faith in the Zips, plus I like the way the coaches treat me and I know it's a nice environment" Dixon, an athletic two-way player who sees time at both defensive back and wide receiver for Hagerty, said he wasn't concerned what position he plays in college, just that he's playing. "I think I can get on the field early because I am determined and I am a hard worker," "They like me just as a playmaker and they like my speed." "He (coach Bowden) made me feel very welcome and he said all of the right things to make me feel comfortable with the program," "I want to get bigger and stronger this year and continue my academics (3.2 gpa)."
  12. Well done. That's some talent!?!?! Frank Caliendo channels Morgan Freeman when reading LeBron James' letter discussing his return to Cleveland.
  13. I'm looking forward to our Tuesday game in November with BG. I'm pretty sure it will be another trap game™. Ellen gives a BG overview today, writing that they are looking for "respect." Sound familiar? (New BG head coach) Babers said don't be surprised if there are games where both teams eclipse 100 plays. He also said his defense will play the game at a high speed, forcing opposing offenses to operate just as quickly, getting them out of a comfort zone.
  14. If anyone thinks that LeBron doesn't like his neighbors, check this out.

  16. I would occasionally check here. (ESPN week 4 link) I would expect it to show up on ESPN3.
  17. User Actions Following Gil BrandtVerified account‏@Gil_Brandt .@WestVirginiaU has 27 different uniform combos of blue, gold and white + 3 helmet options.
  18. I would guess, most posters are ignorant to this. I used to play in a small league, and they had a heck of a time procuring ice time. Plan B; offer this kid a scholarship NOW.
  19. I'm just curious, has anybody posting in this thread ever tried to buy an hour of ice time in this area (15 mile radius of Akron)?
  20. Could Pitt's offensive line be a weakness? Pitt’s offensive line was not at that level last season. In fact, the unit wasn’t even close. The Panthers averaged just 125.7 yards per game on the ground in 2013. The figure Rowell was more concerned about, though, was 43, the number of sacks given up last season, sixth worst in Division I-A.
  21. Veteran QBs abound in East Division ranks: MAC Football 2014 (pohl...I mean poll) by EA of the PD "Less than a week until the Mid-American Conference holds its annual football media day in Detroit. Here is an early primer of what to look for from the MAC's East Division, which this season should carry the flag for the conference, considering the majority of proven returning quarterbacks reside here." Kyle is currently in second to BG's Matt Johnson.
  22. I always wondered, can a game be called a "trap" game, if before the game you call it a "trap" game? Isn't a "trap" a surprise? I hate stupid clichés. As I was reading the article, I forgot how much I liked Storm Johnson when I watched him last year. I missed him being drafted by the Jaguars. I'm guessing he was kind of a product of that offensive line, but I still admired his running. When I saw him run, I thought he would be a good compliment in most backfields in the NFL. PS Here is what I still think of Marshall.
  23. One could argue that it was associated with the greatest moment in Zips football.
  24. Arizona Sun Devil, Texas Longhorn, Louisville Cardinal, Boise State Bronco, Northern Illinois Huskie...
