  1. Those were just a few examples within 30 miles of Akron that ZN readers can relate to. I don't need to see a full list to see the point. Well done Spin.
  2. LBJ in China rep'n the AK.
  3. Hofbräuhaus brewery coming to Cleveland I hope it's as nice as the one in Pittsburgh, and nicer than the one in South Beach. An $8.4 million project proposed for downtown Cleveland's theater district could marry a Hofbräuhaus, a 400-year-old German institution, with the Hermit Club, a century-old private club dedicated to amateur performing arts. Cincinnati Restaurant Group, Inc., which built the nation's first licensed Hofbräuhaus 10 years ago, plans to wrap a restaurant and entertainment venue around the Hermit Club, at the northern edge of PlayhouseSquare. Sketches show a 660-seat hall and a 1,000-seat beer garden facing Chester Avenue, off Dodge Court.
  4. Thanks for posting. Nice interview. I enjoy listening to coach, even Rizz can't mess it up. Coach talked about Dri Archer's run for heisman, saying it's a popularity contest, and we are not that popular in the MAC. Here is a small article and an interview with Dri. Hopefully our revamped defensive line will have more success against Dri this year. Nobody but Ken+ recruited Dri. Funny that coach Bowden joked with Dri about leaving early last year. Dri says he submitted to NFL and they come back with 4th round or later, possible undrafted free agent. Seems like a nice kid.
  5. The number one jersey is not "after" any player. It's the only jersey UA sells in the team shop. Generic. You will see many of them in the stands if you go to the game. Bowden has said that the number one jersey is reserved for a "special" player. I'm surprised to see a freshman "awarded" the number. Maybe we will all find out why come this fall.
  6. Good thing the Rubber Bowl sold out all those years, so they could build Infocision Stadium.
  7. I have been collecting singles in my beer fridge for such an event...in.

  9. In the 42 seconds that I wasted thinking about this subject, this was one of my first thoughts.

  12. Source Bowden on the MAC and the Zips: "We have to improve to meet the level of a conference with 7 bowl teams. We have to go through the (word omitted) but everything is there for us to be successful." Bowden on OC A.J. Milwee: "I promoted AJ because he is ready. He is young, smart and knows the offense and how to scheme for success." Bowden on QB Kyle Pohl: "Kyle has an abundance of talent and an NFL caliber arm. He can throw every pass in our playbook. He continues to grow as a quarterback and as a leader." Bowden on RB Jawon Chisholm: "Jawon is a tough, hard-nosed back with good speed and is due for a 1,000-yard season after coming close the last two seasons. He allows us to really spread the field and find holes in the opponent's defense." Freeman on the secondary: "We are getting deeper at all four positions. We continue to work on defending as a unit and we are making progress. We need to build on last year and play better as a group for four quarters." Freeman on Moses McCray: "He brings depth to the front line that will help us keep opponents from moving the sticks." Dillard on Year Two of Bowden Ball: "We felt good last year and you could see the offense progress as the season went on. This year, we are more comfortable and confident, and fans should be ready for some more fireworks." Dillard on QB Kyle Pohl: "We are going to take advantage of Kyle's mobility to scramble and run from the pocket. He has a strong arm and is growing into his leadership role." "How many games would that be coach?"
  13. Yes. Here is some news you may have missed.
  14. Watch Live ESPN3 GoZips media day blog found here. Joining head coach Terry Bowden in the media sessions will be seniors WR Jerrod Dillard and CB Malachi Freeman. Discuss Media Day Below.
  15. That surprises me a little since coach seemed pretty reserved when asked about that specific jersey in June. MTB = #1 Hope he goes out and earns it!
  16. Has anyone seen his projected business plan?
  17. UA should hire someone to help with the funding.
  18. Thank you for the update.
  19. You might be correct when it comes to our junior and senior class, but not so much with our sophomore and freshman class. So depending on time (relative), I would say 2 years. Is that far off? Not in my Zip fan career. Small example: NIU 2013 ClassAAAUA 2013 Class Putting the BCS BS aside, I like the 2 for 1's. Any opportunity to get fans excited to come to Info is a plus IMO. Indiana is not a huge deal, but well enough known around here that people were excited to see them at Info. Nice buzz before the game...after that, well, not so much....
  20. You're referring to Dru, right?
  21. 2 blocked shots and 4 rebounds in 6 minutes ain't bad. He needs to put the biscuit in the basket! PS If you play the video at the top, you can see Zeke.
  22. I like the writer of Stuart Scott's comment.
  23. Nice job. I'm with JZ84 about MT-B. Coach is looking for a difference maker in that spot. From speaking with him, it "seems" (my interpretation) coach would like one of the freshman to fill it. Nobody thinks Hirschman will start?
