  1. Some of my favorite posts are ones that are based on knowledge gained from Playstation.
  2. A sophomore threw for 405 yards and 4 TD's against the Bearcats last week, what will LR8 do this week against that swiss cheese secondary?
  3. • Tailgating. Nice day. Forecast looked threatening, but it turned out great. Was much worse 17 miles north.• I sat on the grass for a quarter of the game. What a great place to watch college football.• Trying to drink 300 different kinds of beer, and watching ZN members get on board.• Making good money betting on the game.
  4. NFL opening weekend, or post on ZN about a team that can't score points? Easy choice for me. I'm planning my beers for Sept 24 tailgate already, should be some good ones, I'm making good money off this team. -31 This week should be more free money for beer.

  6. I agree. The team is better than last year. The question is, will the wins improve? It is possible to improve and still only win one game. I don't look at as we won three in lieu of one so we are better. I like to look at things in a range. 0-4 wins is a disaster. 5-7 wins is average in the MAC. 8+ wins in the MAC is a really good year. We may still be in the low range at the end of the season. If we win three this year and four next year, are we getting better or are we still a terrible program?Again, I don't want to speculate until Sunday. Let's see what happens and then we will have a better indication as to where the program is heading this season. As the blind man walked into the blast furnace, he said "feels like it's going to be sunny today."The progress I thought I saw in Columbus was due to a poorly coached Columbus team. See Toledo vs Columbus.
  7. Finally seeing LR8 play in person for the first time, here is my evaluation on his second Div I game:• He needs to have better pocket presence. He abandons a pocket too quick when he feels a little pressure. This may be due to the fact he has issues seeing over his lineman.• He needs to get his feet set. Many of his throws seem to sail high because he doesn't have his feet set.• He needs to find the open man. There are receivers open and he is not going through progressions. This is probably due to the fact he is not comfortable with the offense so far. He needs to work harder in practice.• He needs to realize he has a receiver that is a real player with good hands, Marquelo Suel. When this guy is one on one, which he was most of the night, get the ball to him, he will help you be a better QB. He also knows what to do with the ball once he gets it.• I believe his size is an issue. I saw it affect more than a few plays last night. Some QB's that are his size have so many good things going for them, they can overcome this. I hope he gets to that point.• Keep Rossi on the field for LR8, he seems to like to check down to him. This might get him comfortable enough to get through some reads eventually.• IMO, he doesn't have the strongest arm on the team at his position. With all this said, I don't mean to turn this into a Couch vs Holcomb debate. I hope LR8 works hard and improves throughout the season.PS I thought it was classless of Rob bringing PN7 in to do mop-up last night. What does that prove? What do you accomplish? Was that supposed to be PN7's reward?
  8. Not on your #2. Might have taken a step back this week. Needs improvement in multiple areas. See my thoughts here.
  9. Yes.
  10. FYI
  11. Wouldn't it be great if he were knowledgeable, and it was true?
  12. This looks like a pretty challenging schedule to me. Outside of the major programs, there is YSU so the fans will have fun. CSU is a good program and it should be a fun game to attend. Detroit has history as a good program. We have MTSU for a trip down memory lane in Tennessee. We all know what VCU can do. WVU is a good program....too bad it is on a weeknight so not many will get to see the Zips play in a really good college arena. Three road games in a row to start January will provide a good challenge as well."Challenging" is the word I would use to describe this schedule. Some say it isn't any good because of Hiram and JC...everyone plays those types of cupcakes and two games don't make an entire schedule weak.I wasn't speaking so much to the overall schedule (which looks fine and actually stronger than you've had in a while), as much as I was referring to scheduling non D1's in the regular season. That is not something everyone does. D1 transitional teams do that and weaker D1 squads, of which the Zips are neither. I'm sure Dambrot could have gotten a sub 300+ RPI squad that the Zips could beat on just as easily. It's one thing to want national recognition and respect for your achievements, but IMO you set yourself up to be disrespected when you play squads like that. Your home slate stinks...but there are some very good road games on the slate and an opportunity to build a decent resume should you win them.Marian?? http://www.butlersports.com/sports/m-baskbl/2010-11/scheduleI would prefer we play cupcakes like Gonzaga does to get into rythem http://www.gozags.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPS...p;Q_SEASON=2010 Most good teams play cupcakes to get the rhythm going, lose the jitters of first game and to correct flaws without jeopardizing the season. I think KD likes to schedule local teams because it is good for their program and good for us. He is from the area and is big on loyalty....I can't find fault with his approach. So...we schedule a lower level local team every year. It does not affect our RPI so who cares. Here is a nice How To to help you with your links.Reminder How To on the proper Reply button. 13. Stay out of the Belgium isle at Red White & Brew, or we will be doubling our efforts.
  14. Seems like no amount of drama that happened in Columbus could have prevented that beat down as much as us fans had hoped it would. I hope before I die, we can beat them chumps without any drama.
  15. I can't answer for KD, I'm sure someone else here will try, but I have heard him say on a post game show last year, we are not good enough for a tough schedule yet. It seems like we are ready for a tougher schedule to me. Personally I think it benefits this team to play a tougher schedule. Maybe we are a year behind due to scheduling ahead of time. Maybe we will see a change next year, hopefully. We see enough cupcakes during mac play.
  16. I have four good ones for tomorrow...excluding the Mango.
  17. Nice list. Can I add?7. Game planning. Simply, we need to find what Temple's weakness is on defense and attack that with our play calling. This is not rocket science, but I need to see this to feel better about our offense. I think it was GP1 that brought up how nice it is not to complain about the gimmicky 3-3-5. I totally agree. I'm so gun shy to criticize anything defensively because we are playing the 4-3 now. I'll get to watch "units" better being at the game, the one unit I am excited to watch is the secondary. I believe they have improved from last season, but I need to evaluate from the game. It's too hard to judge from tv. I will also be watching to see what routes are run on offense to have a better understanding if the QB is being handcuffed, or is not making reads.
  18. Now I'm mad, I hope we kill Temple! I forgot they are Flyer fans.
  19. I loved Bum because "he couldn't kick the door in!".... here's another one...."How do you win? By getting average players to play good and good players to play great. That's how you win."Your quotes in the video Keener, same, but different.
  20. I'll be there. Same time, same spot...I assume.
  21. I hope this discussion (Al vs Rob) doesn't turn out to be like when the Cleveland media/fans used to compare Tim Couch's early stats to that of Troy Aikman's early stats.
  22. Maybe the Lot Niners™ should wear these shirts this year?!?
  23. I like your positive outlook g-man. I hope I can get on board with your line of thinking. Unfortunately the only thing I have to make an educated opinion on, is what I see on the field. Like I said this week, even in that beat down in Columbus, I saw some improvements. I hope to see more this week. I'll be there.
