  1. You heard nothing on the network from all the players that praised what a great guy Tressel is/was to them.
How much praise should we give a coach with a long history of cheating? I'm sure some convicted murders are very nice to a many people they come across in their life. Do we go out an interview all those people? No? Do you know why? They broke the law, just like Tressel broke the rules. Now they have to pay. Columbus State gets tons of publicity because they have tons of fans.
  2. Didn't he actually get cut by two teams before catching on with the Steelers and becoming one of the best linebackers on planet earth?
Harrison went undrafted in the 2002 NFL draft , fearing he was too short (six feet) to play linebacker, and too light (240 pounds) to play on the defensive line. A few teams did send him training camp invites. The Steelers signed Harrison as an undrafted rookie in 2002. Harrison spent two years on and off the practice squad for the Steelers, being released three times, and was also briefly on the active roster towards the end of the 2002 season, playing only special teams. Teammate and fellow linebacker James Farrior later told NFL Network that Harrison was so green early on in his career that he would simply “give up” on plays he was struggling on and would even ask the coaches not to play him when he was struggling. Farrior said, "He was a knucklehead that didn't know the plays. We'd be in practice, in training camp, and he might not know what he doing so he'd just stop and throw his hands up and tell (the coaches) to get him out of there. We thought the guy was crazy."He was signed by Baltimore in late 2003, then sent to the Rhein Fire of NFL Europe, but eventually cut by the Ravens. After being cut for a fourth time, Harrison considered not playing anymore. Shortly after, he was signed a fourth time by the Steelers during training camp in 2004 after Clark Haggans sustained an injury in an offseason weightlifting accident. Showing much improvement, Harrison made the final roster and has remained with the Steelers since.sourcejames-harrison-eyes.jpgSI's Rare Photos of JamesA lot of stuff was left out of the article, James also called Colt “an idiot kid quarterback.”
  3. Stone cold nut. I'm pretty sure I've told this story here before. The year Dwight Smith beat Ken+ in Ken+, CK and I were walking to our seats and got stopped as the Ken+ team was coming out of their locker room. It was as cold as it's ever been in Ohio that day, every Ken+ player looked like they were going to the electric chair, except for one dude. I had no idea who James was at the time, but he was jumping around and yelling like he was getting ready for the fight of his life. I think he lives most days of his life like that. Marketing genius by Mens Journal interviewing this coo-coo. They couldn't have paid for marketing this good.Read the article, not ESPN writing about the article.James Harrison: Confessions of an NFL Hitmannfl_harrison_mj_600.jpg

  4. All I want to hear from him is something along the lines of...last year was my first year as a head coach too and I made some mistakes --- I've learned from them and look forward to the new year.
+1 Having never talked to the guy, from what I read/hear, I don't think it's going to happen. With that being said, some exciting football and some victories will make me forget all about it.
  5. Whichever QB is worse is the one I want starting against OSU so that the good one isn't injured the rest of the season.
This attitude stinks IMO. I hope the team proves you wrong.
He would have been much better off saying he didn't want the QB to get hurt in a meaningless game, which the vast majority of BCS vs non-BCS games are (with the exception of the pile of cash that lands in the non-BCS teams' banks).
When is the last time an Akron QB got hurt against a BCS team? Play to win. Think NC State.
