Easiest fix to Mike's new offense is to get this guy involved in the game plan! I'm sure he would be all for it.

One of the things that makes that great is, Steve does his typical downer voice at the beginning..."...then it bounced right past Owen and ALL the way to the ten yard line"...then the dimmer switch gets slowly turned up till it reaches CRAZY. The other thing I like about it is Frank in the background..."lateral it"...."look at this"..."OH YEAH"...."YEAH"...."WOHOOO, YEAAAAAHH". I picture Frank jumping up and down on top a desk throwing his headphones and running down to the field. I love that piece.

Feel free to predict the score below.

I agree Brian, I wish the Zips AD was as passionate about it as Mike is.

I think Akron has done that (offensively) this year, and iCoach has stated so in his press conferences.

Thank you, Anthony Ponikvar (& Mens Soccer Team)

I think a lot of it has to do with the quality of apparel also. I don't want to wear something that isn't cool. When I went to school in the early 90's there was hardly any cool Akron stuff. That has changed now. I hope it continues to get better. Another idea off the top of my head. Have a student stand at the entrance of our games with a 5 x 7 card that has something written on it that explains that The Zips would appreciate your support, and would appreciate it if you wore Zips gear instead of our competitions gear. Maybe even put Anthony's picture and his quote on it. Politely hand it out to anybody wearing another team's apparel. -

Preach it my brother! I know this can't happen, but since games sell out, it would be fun to deny students admission if they had some other school's apparel on. Maybe banish them to a particular section. -
Soccer the most profitable program at Akron??

Your right, I got an early copy of it, you have to listen real close to hear Luke though, it's just Ztv's

Good analysis of the season thus far. I am cautiously optimistic that we are becoming a team. Offensive play calling, offensive line, special teams and the wide receiving group improved last week. The one area that still concerns me is the secondary. I've never really paid much attention to the college coaching in the secondary before. I know NFL teams have a secondary coach, but it is a shared position on iCoach's staff. Coach Okruch is in charge of the special teams AND the safety position. Coach Mallory is our D coordinator AND is in charge of the defensive backs. I wonder if there was one coach working with the group we would be more cohesive? Maybe I'm over thinking it, but I'm just looking for answers for better play back there with the talent we have on the team right now. Carter seems to be improving at wide out, so I can see he is staying put, so I'll stop bangin' that drum. Here's to hoping Coaches Okruch & Mallory get our secondary playing some good ball. It should be a high priority, especially before the Ken+ game!

I don't see anything wrong with it, nobody playing on NIU played in that game anyway, what should they care. If they are focused on that, great. Too bad Luke won't be there, Pitt has a game Saturday also. Hixon might be there since he is on the IR and not practicing with the Giants right now.

Good news for you, the NFL changed the rule in the playoffs this year. Each team will get at least one possession in the extra period unless the team that wins the overtime coin toss scores a touchdown on its first possession. Here is some history for you: The N.F.L. has had 14 overtime playoff games in the last 16 years, with the team that won the toss going 7-7. In the regular season, from 1974 to 1993, teams that won the toss won the game 46.8 percent of the time and teams that lost it won the same 46.8 percent of the time.

Paraphrasing some "new" stuff: -Andy Alleman in charge of 2005 MAC Championship reunion at the end of first quarter at this weeks game. -NIU has seven seniors on defense. -Igor kicked off second half, kick off is an open competition. -Wildcat is called "wildcat", not "wild kangaroo", thought it went well. -Like Dr Z suggested, full back was used more the first half, we are pleased with Austin. -I hope it shows on the scoreboard, but the more I am listening to iCoach, I'm starting to warm up to him. -No significant injuries to report. -Half of our recruits are playing, half are red shirting. Zip fans should be excited about our recruiting here. -Several young guys coming in January -Good reception on recruiting, went to Cincy area before Kentucky game. *Coach seems to do a better job being accessible to the media than previous coaches (whomever is in charge of it). I enjoy watching and listening to the coach speak about previous and future games.

have you seen overtime in the NFL???? Talk about irritating Totally disagree. If the NFL run overtime like soccer, they would lineup at the 30 yard line with just a kicker and have a field goal contest. Hockey does it proper. During the season they have a shootout due to the length of the season, come playoff time, you have to score a goal playing hockey. In soccer you should have to score a goal playing soccer, not a kick ball competition. Maybe it's okay during the season, but come tournament time...play the game until you get a winner. With that said, go Zips....don't let it come down to a kickball competition in the tourney, score a goal!

The Hosiers had 33 passing attempts and 29 run attempts. I remember the color commentator saying something to the effect of, I'm surprised Indiana is passing so much, they need to become more effective in the running game before they start Big10 play.

Sacks?!?
-
Paraphrasing: -Team made strides, we were able to run the ball against the Hoosiers, we outgained them on the ground 2 to 1. -We are improving, but we need to improve on the scoreboard -We have our work cut out for us with NIU -We held Indiana to 3 yards a carry and we averaged over 5, that needs to continue to be in games in our conference -Offensive line as a whole played their best game, only 2 sacks and one was QB's fault for not stepping up in pocket -Patrick McCloskey got 15 or so snaps as a second team offensive lineman -I'm happy how defense defended the run, but we need to improve getting pressure on the QB -Happy we only have two turn overs, but we need to start to create turn overs also -Pleased with the progress of PN7, he played his best game yet, he is seeing things down field, he needs to continue to improve -NIU runner is good, he gets a lot of yards after first contact, they are committed to the run -We are not happy just to compete, we need to continue to move forward, no regressions

Gophers are trying to add coach Dungy to compete with MAC teams

10.6 as a team is impressive. What "defense" do the Gophers play? If you think you passed with ease against Minnesota, wait until you see the Zips secondary.

Get out of your hotel and head down to Penn Ave, go to Rolands, great beer selection. When your done there continue down the strip, you can't go wrong with bars down there. If your hungry, go to Primanti Brothers, if you like sushi, to to the sushi bar at the Westin. If you need to do something spiritual, go to The Church, also close by.

I'm not sure what Ztv is, but they might want to learn a few things about location of interview. You can still get a little out of what iCoach is saying though. Did he say they made halftime defensive adjustments???
-
I'll give credit to the field goal kicking unit. Excellent job on Saturday. If it is due to hard work and practice, thank you, it paid off. Keep it up for two more months.

Another rumored house for LBJ in Coconut Grove, modest 7.65 million dollar home. Hoops superstar LeBron James, the Miami Heat’s new golden child, has a contract to buy a villa in an ultra-exclusive Coconut Grove enclave named after the eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes, Page2Live has learned. “It’s not officially done (the deed transfer) just yet, but he has a definite interest in it,” said Miami realtor Peggy Brin. She had the Hughes Cove listing, but the place has been off-the-market for months. I hear the 25-year-old multimillionaire James, who signed a six-year contract with the Heat believed to be worth $110 million, first approached owner David Lipman in August — this despite the fact that the home was no longer listed. Lipman, a lawyer and philanthropist, is known for, among other things, winning a $31 million-judgment for an asbestos victim who sued a brake pad manufacturer. The amount that LeBron would be paying for the Devon Court digs, meanwhile, hasn’t leaked out. The four-bed, five-bath house with direct view on Biscayne Bay once was listed for $7.65 million. Click here for ten photos of the home. Google Map of 3309 Devon Court Did LBJ buy in Coconut Grove?
