This is a dead serious question. Why do you spend money going to Zips games? The NCAA is designed for the BCS teams to win. I support them because I am a fan and I like college football. One, I'm an alumni and enjoy supporting the team. Two, football is a an exciting sport even if you are losing (check with Browns fans), baseball is not (check with Indians fans). The bottom line is, I'll drive to Buffalo to watch the Zips lose a football game, I won't drive to Cleveland to see an Indians game (2010). Doesn't really matter the reason, that's how I feel. I haven't even watched a full baseball game this year. The MLB has alienated me. This is not coming from a casual baseball fan who just roots for the local team. I have been to 11 different MLB parks to watch games and was a big fan of baseball.

Pittsburgh baseball fans are known for showing up for their giveaways. Yinzers love their giveaways. Too bad they don't show up in between. There are only three teams worse than them for home attendance this year. Guess who is dead last in the league? 19 of the 30 teams attendance is down this year. I'm actually thinking of going to the new Cincy park to watch a game this year. I will attend one Pirates game this year. The Pirates have cold called me twice. Send me weekly emails. Send me tons of mail. Their marketing is 10x better than the Indians. Speaking of which, I got a cold call from Akron's ticket office this week asking me questions about the upcoming football season. Joe Sieaforeth (sp?) was his name. He said they just hired him. I told him if he was bored one night to get on ZN and do a search on "ticket office". A fan can only be pushed so far. The Cliff Lee trade pushed me over the edge. I haven't been to a game or watched a game since. Wake me up after a good strike that enables small market teams to field a team that can compete with large market teams. The NHL fixed their league, now it's time for the MLB to do the same. PS Funny video, but that isn't my definition of "insane." I think that is a sane man's reaction to having to cover that "team"

I'm not exactly sure what I'm voting on here. No real question was asked. I voted as if the question was "who has had the best recruiting class in the last three years" To me those bs ratings mean nothing. I have never seen a trophy case with a best recruiting class plaque or trophy in it. I voted OU because they made it to the second round in the big dance. They got results and rewarded their fans with an upset win in the big dance. If I could vote for second place I would have voted Akron.

If the numbers work out to prove my point, then they are true because numbers don't lie, if data proves to differ from my view, then there is an error in the collection of the data. It's very scientific, and better than trying to form my own opinion.

Nothing makes me happier than KD addressing the PG. I think it's the place where our team can make the biggest improvement that will benefit the team the most. Point guard seems to be getting a lot of attention/respect in the NBA right now. I was listening to CP3 talk about the talent at PG in the NBA right now. I'm watching the LBJ team get outplayed at that position in this current round of playoff games thus far. ESPN has a headline story on the PG right now. I'm hoping Abreu can come in and make an immediate impact. I'll hold my breath until I see him play in a Zips uni.

I watched most of this movie this weekend. While a lot of it is "pretty out there" I did learn a few things. Thanks for the link. At the very least, it entertained me.

I believe the NHL has it right. They award the Hart trophy AFTER the playoffs to let the players focus on the games at hand. I think we saw first hand tonight what happens when you deviate your focus and turn your energy to individual awards right in the middle of the playoffs. I'm wondering if LBJ makes a comment about this.

I don't care what anybody was wearing. Especially the players. They didn't take the podium (I'm guessing). I think it was great that LBJ did it in Akron and gave many props to Akron. But seriously, four out of five professionals figured it out. I think Mike was out of it all weekend long if you ask me:

This is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. You are essentially saying that we shouldn't play any games until football season ends. Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday during the day. That is when people are looking to be entertained the most. They aren't nearly as likely to come out to a weeknight game because of work, school and other commitments the next morning. Look, if you are a bigger football fan than a basketball fan that is fine. But to say we shouldn't schedule games during the three "primetime" entertainment slots of the week is unreasonable. I didn't say we shouldn't schedule those games. I said I knew I was in the minority. Those games don't fit my lifestyle. I'm just stating a fact. I hope all Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday day games (during football season) sell out at the JAR.

I agree ZB, I liked the RI game. It showed exactly what our team needed to work on. I like the Houston & Temple ideas too. I would go out of my way to see all three of those games. The one thing that keeps me away from earlier season games is scheduling. I'm not going to a game on Friday night, Saturday night or Sunday day game (during football season). I'm sure I'm in the minority, I'm just saying...

This conversation is going to go nowhere. We obviously have a different set of morals. I wonder how Tom Brady's life would be different if he got his high school girlfriend pregnant in high school instead of a super model after an established NFL career?
