  1. Howard told the Canton Repository recently that he needed B averages in four of his five classes to be able to join the Zips for fall practice.Hoover coach Don Hertler Jr. said Wednesday morning that Howard's status won't be known until June 1, when Howard's final transcript is available. It could go longer than that. The NCAA allows an athlete to enroll in one summer class to apply to his GPA.''He's taking the ACT at least one more time,'' Hertler said. ''He's got to have a great second semester. We'll have to wait and see how he finishes.''If Howard's last-gasp academic push fails and he's declared a Proposition 48, he could attend UA this fall but would have to pay his own way and not participate in football. Or he could attend a junior college or a prep school like Fork Union Military Academy, which would open the door for the Tressels of the world to go after him. That would happen next year in the case of a prep school, or in two years after Howard graduated from junior college.''We've done our research on the young man, we've checked him out,'' Ianello said. ''Part of the process is to do a thorough academic evaluation, visit with their counselor, talk to them in terms of academics. Young men all over the country still have work to do to get into college. I'm sure our class is no different.''The full story can be found here.
  2. Oh no, KD got mad after the Eastern game too! He thinks the team has room for improvement? "I was mad after the game....We may not win the MAC Tournament....Is it the best team we've ever had? Probably not. Does it have room for improvement? Yes." Keith Dambrot Feb 3rd 2010
  3. Pictures are worth a thousand...you know the saying. My favorite is when they slow it down and zoom in on NB-See tv to see if the nose of the ball touches the ground. That never gets old to me, going back and forth, back and forth... Here is an image taken from the six photos above of each players arms, is the true frosh out working these guys in the weight room?
  4. I posed the question in a previous post about what type of offense we ran. I never really got an in depth answer from any ZN member. The coaching staff was gracious enough to give me a complete answer. The staff also wanted me to express how thought out they are on the offensive end of the floor. Hard to argue after a 90 point performance.Coach Dambrot runs a combination of different offenses. First he runs a fast break similar to NC which tries to get the ball inside. From there on ball reversal we screen down and the get into baseline runner, with our 4/5 men on blocks and a player running off their screens. If the backside post helps we flush hi for a hi/lo look. We can sprint into on ball screens and either pick and pop or pick and roll. We run a lot of quick hitters always looking to get the ball inside and then play out of the post. Depending on what the defense does will determine which cut we run. We have set plays to isolate individuals in the post, sets designed to shoot the 3 and sets designed to drive the ball. We can run a set that is motion offense, we can spread the floor and use the ball screen to create total defensive rotations. We run a lot of different things to utilize our personnel. Hope this gives you a quick overview of our offense.
  5. Nice photos by Phil Masturzo on Beacon Journal website.
  6. From the press conference today, When asked if anyone has left the program: "No."
  7. Quotes from today's press conference from MR's blog"In our offense, we like to throw the ball to the tight end""We really felt like we'd need a fullback in this class to do some of the things we want to do with a two-back offense."A lot of ZN posters are getting what they want.
  8. Agreed, I hope it shows up here eventually.
  9. Darn it! Who recruited all these "nice, but not spectacular" players anyways?I think the complete question should be: Sorry, I'm not good at rationalizing.
  10. I can't take this woman, but for those of you that can, this aired awhile back, you might enjoy.
  11. KSPU signed 7 DLs
  12. Post game radio. Tune in.
  13. Darn it! Who recruited all these "nice, but not spectacular" players anyways?
  14. Does our deep rotation have to do with KD trying to match up all the time, both offensively and defensively? Is he "out-thinking/over-coaching" himself?I've always wanted to stand next to him during a game and ask "now why are you sending him in right now?" Not to be a smarty, to learn his way of thinking.
  15. Will we get some tv time on KYC tonight? Info released on their site. They know how to find a nice graphic of our logo.Canton Repository, same.
  16. BaRksdale (not Baksdale as the pd printed) committed to Wyoming in October?Wyoming Commit List shows him
  17. It's nice to see somebody email EA, and take care of this.Has to be the fastest we ever got our class up on the PD site.PS Can the PD figure out how to use the pen tool in photoshop instead of the magic wand for our logo? At the very least, steal it from here.Worst resolution Zippy ever. Did they cut and paste it from Zippy's facebook page? Why is his image even next to Austin Bailey, is Austin going to be Zippy next year?According to Rasor, Rob Ianello will be on Michael Reghi's radio show at 4:40 on 850 AM.2:50 Start time for Rob Ianello press conference today

  19. What gave you that idea, the first question is "are you a season ticket holder"?
  20. I'm starting to see why something like this wasn't mailed out before, I think I wasted my lunchtime.
  21. Man, I couldn't agree with more.
  22. I received a nice survey in the mail last week from the university and took the time to fill it out to the best of my ability. I would hope some of our members here took the opportunity to do the same thing. If for some reason you did not receive it and would like to help by providing good feedback to help create an enjoyable game day atmosphere, feel free to answer as many questions as you like in this thread. (I paraphrased some of the questions) I'm happy stuff like this is happening. I left off the 10 suit and club questions.Q1 Are you a season ticket holder?Q2 How many home games did you attend?Q3 How many away games did you attend?Q4 If you were unable to attend the game, how did you follow the game?Q5 How many years have you purchased season tickets?Q6 Which tailgating do you participate in, pre, post, varsity A, zipfest?Q7 Do you visit a local bar or restaurant before or after a game, how often?Q8 Where did you get your primary information about tickets from?Q9 How did you purchase your tickets?Q10 What type of ticket did you purchase, ga, family plan, reserved, priority, club, loge, suite?Q11 Would you change the location of your seating for this year?Q12 Do you think the cost of a ticket is too high, low, just right?Q13 If you purchased single game tickets in 09 will you get season tickets in 2010?Q14 Please select each category to which you belong, faculty, parent of student, z-fund member, alumniQ15 Rank the following factors according to how important they are in whether or not your choose to attend a game. Scale of 1 to 5, 1 is very important, 5 being not important. Day of game, time of game, weather, team performance, opponent, ticket price, parking location.Q16 How many hours ahead of kickoff did you arrive on campus?Q 17 Did you have a problem finding designated parking on campus?Q18 What parking did you utilize, z fund pass, purchase season pass $25, single game $5, RV $25, downtown and shuttle?Q19 Your wait in long before entering the stadium was, less than 5 minutes, 5-10, 10-20, over 20 minutes?Q20 Which gate did you enter?Q21 Finding your seat was, easy or hard?Q22 Were parking lot attendants, ticket takers, ushers and guest service employees helpful and knowledgeable?Q23 Where you satisfied with the price of food, quality of food, and get your order in a timely manner?Q24 Please provide any additional comments on your game day experience.
  23. Yes I heard the quote in question.I am surprised that nobody has had the same reaction that CK has had over the years. I've heard KD numerous times complain about the crowd on the post game show. I always took it as a slap in the face. I always felt he is complaining to the wrong audience. He is crying to the diehard fan that is listening. To me that is a disservice to his cause. I think his passion should be expressed to those that aren't attending games, the ones that aren't listening. I think the majority of people that listen to the post game show are the ones that attend the basketball game. I think once that our marketing savvy AD gets wind of this, it may stop.
  24. G-mann, do you listen to KD speak to French after the games? How often? I think that is the reference.
  25. Kohl's has some nice shoes on sale if you think $120 is too much to donate to Nike.Z Fund is a good place to donate too
