  1. What are the top programs of the last decade? That's the question ESPN.com has attempted to answer this week. Fifteen college football experts and analysts ranked all 119 Division I-A programs, taking into account record, traditions, recruiting, facilities, coaches, attendance and support, among other criteria.Editor's note: Each day, one writer will attempt to explain why these teams were ranked in this order. The rankings reflect the average from the 15 ballots cast and are not the writer's individual ballot. Pat Forde breaks down Nos. 119-101 below. Where will Akron fall?101 Baylor 102 San Jose State 103 SMU 104 UNLV 105 Florida Atlantic 106 Idaho107 Arkansas State 108 Ball State 37-76109 Can't State110 New Mexico State111 Army 112 Louisiana-Lafayette 113 Louisiana-Monroe 114 Utah State 115 Duke116 Eastern Michigan 117 Florida International118 Temple 119 Buffalo
  2. Here is a better image of Scott stadium from 2002 when the Zips were there.
  3. Isn't it BOTH?It looks to me that below ground level, there are seats on both sides & the grass in the endzones .. and then the grandstands rise above ground level .. slightly on the east, and more on the west w/ the press box.Seems to me the lower section is a bowl .. seats not all the way around .. but this isn't the Doyt or anything like this.. when you enter the stadium, the field appears to be below grade, right?Hopefully the lawn seating creates the bowl like Scott stadium in Charlottesville.I sat there for the Zips game, I thought it was pretty neat.
  4. You'll find that many teams that "win", have things "fall in place" for them in a season.Take a look at our MAC championship year.
  5. Word is, that the Browns have inquired about the availability of there use.
  6. Prisco likes Frye to startCharlie Frye vs. Derek Anderson vs. Brady QuinnFrye went into last season trying to convince the team that he was their long-term answer at quarterback. He obviously didn't do that since they drafted Quinn in the first round. Frye is a quarterback who will never wow you with his physical skills, but he can make plays with his head and his improvisational skills. Anderson came on late last year when Frye was hurt and showed a big-time arm. But he's really raw. Quinn has the tools to be the franchise passer, but he didn't look so good in the team's offseason work after being drafted. Anderson was said to be the best of all the three.Edge: Frye, based mainly on the experience.Opening-day starter: Frye. Quinn isn't ready and this staff needs to try to win

  12. What's Florida?
  13. Zen, do you work for the UA Marketing department? What a spin
  14. I just had probably the craziest of sources from Youngstown tell me that he might choose Stanford. If this is true, I will tell you the back story. I had no idea that Jim Harbaugh is the coach there now.
  15. Better yet, someone tell the UA marketing dept. how to go about it. Draw the plan out with crayons.
  16. Timesaver. 3 pages from the 51 pages.
  17. I vote Romeo has to wear a moo moo the way Homer did, then he can coach from home on the computer.
  18. I have heard JD address this himself. To paraphrase, he stated that he had to "reach" when he first got here, now he is able to go after the kind of student athlete he prefers.
  19. Listening to NFLRadio today, Pat reminded me of the best player source on the web. NFL.comKiki GonzalezChase BlackburnAndy AllemanDwight SmithLuke GetsyCharlie FryeJason TaylorDomenik HixonAm I missing anybody?Who's on this list next year or the year after?
  20. The Wagon Wheel was not involved in all those meetings. Good thought though.
  21. hmmmm, maybe we can chant "Just like basketball, just like basketball..."
  22. Bullseye! I think most people understand that, and if Romeo is there in the end, I'm happy for him.
  23. The University is depending on us to do the advertising. I made a flyer and stapled it to the pole at the corner of exchange and brown.I'm thinking of spray painting it on a bridge on 77.What are YOUUUU doing? Don't just wait on the University to do EVERYTHING CK.
  24. Akron currently holds a 27-20-2 edge in the overall series.Akron has won 8 of the last 10 meetings against Can't State.
