  1. Any word on Anthony's injury?
  2. That's where Jeremy LaFrance comes in.
  3. Lebron talks with Sampson:http://ohiostate.rivals.com/barrier_noentr...p;mid=&rid= Hopefully Lebron will help Akron in this. If there is any recruit we have a shot at, it's an SVSM player. Between Lebron, KD, and everyone else, Akron must have a pretty good shot. Sampson could have an impact here early, just like Marshall. If anyone has any inside information on Sampson, please share.
  4. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=1501...6723&ref=mfAlready over 1300 confirmed guests at the "new" Nightmare on Sumner Street. Anyone know what the ratio of students/undercover cops is supposed to be this year? If it's anything like last years Sumner Fest, then it just gives UA students another reason to go to Athens for Halloween. And that's no good. Ugh...Athens..
  5. Man, that stinks. Good luck to VCU!
  6. Yeah but did he do it rugby style?
  7. So if Ohio State is No. 2 in football, and they are obviously not #1 in soccer......is there any sport that they can truly claim they are the best in Ohio(this year)?
  8. At first glance I thought this was posted in the football forum. As for the futbol squad, I say it's a given so long as they play like they have all season. I think Hartwick will be a really good test to finish off the season. It's going to be tough though. To truly finish off unbeaten, we'd need to beat both 'wick and NIU twice each. That's tough, but we aren't number 1 in the nation for nothing. Go zips!
  9. Very well deserved. http://philsteele.com/fbsinfo/FBSAllConf/2...season_MAC.html
  10. I was just making sure. I heard it was pretty intense last year when the Rowdies went to UB for the basketball game . Should be fun.Edit: Does anyone know how many students they plan on bringing?
  11. Yup. I wasn't sure if we were supposed to be keeping this on the dl like Ohio State last year.
  12. I'll believe it when I see it.
  13. I think you have them in the correct order. Yes, go with that.Doubtful, Bardo didn't even start the 2nd half of last year. It was Nik starting at C. So if Zeke isn't quite ready to take over the starting spot I'm sure it will be Nik starting at C. I would go with Nik, Zeke, Bardo. Not quite, good sir. Bardo's quick feet and supreme coordination make him a shoe in for the starting spot.
  14. And so by association that would make uakronkid..
  15. Wait...so after running two plays with Torrence they decided he should be thrown towards the back of the depth chart? As timmyboy mentioned, couldn't it have to do with reading the defense?Sorry, I just seem to question every move our coaching staff makes since "The Nicely Revelation".
  16. His last facebook status said "this is my team now". I don't think he's going anywhere.
  17. Yeah a lot of their fans seem to have some sense of entitlement. I can't understand why. They haven't won anything of note, period. And anywhere on either coast people will think they're wearing a green buckeye shirt when they have on any Ohio gear.I have a couple friends from high school that go to OU. Both are die hard OSU fans, and graduated with sub 3.0 GPAs. I can't talk trash to them about Akron-OU match ups because they are indifferent to it. It's all about Ohio State. I guess we aren't alone.
  18. I'm glad you mentioned that. The defense was running all over the place and was pumped up. You could see they fed off the student crowd and that they badly wanted to win. I just feel bad that they are forced into a defensive scheme that doesn't necessarily fit their strengths. That defense is a really good group of guys. You can see Bowser's passion during every play, and Tuzze's effort speaks for itself. I love some of the individual personalities on this team. This is not the personality you typically see on a 1-4 team. The bottom line? Most of this team hasn't quit. They want to win. I enjoy watching the heart of the players. I think they wanted that more than OU did. Just some special teams mishaps which will always kill a team.
  19. Haha, I saw the tittle and I knew I HAD to post this on ZNO.
  20. A bunch of people in my part of the student section cheered when Nicely came in. He energized the team and proved that he should of been starting all along. I loved the way he played tonight.
  21. http://www.ohio.com/lifestyle/63830377.htmlThe 30-inch statue of a black squirrel, sitting on its haunches, resides in a high-profile spot: inside the Can't Student Center.I didn't read to far into the article(and neither should anyone else) but who actually paid for this?
  22. That's a good point. A while ago, someone mentioned how the attendance at soccer games would show the city's ability to support a proven winner. If the soccer team can attract 5,000 people once a year, I think having an Xavier type basketball program could sell out a good sized arena.
  23. That's really cool. Now if they could just update the block from exchange to vine...
  24. The homophobia on these boards is overwhelming.
  25. Just an FYI, you guys were totally off base with your description of Mentor in another thread. I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic or not when one of you called it the "beverly hills" of lake county. I'm from Lake county and that's just about laughable. Mentor is just a normal middle class city. It's big enough(50,000+) that you have some pockets of money. But for every cul-de-sac lined with McMansions there's a good chunk of working class neighborhoods over closer to the lake. If you want proof:Estimated 2007 median household income: $65,262http://www.city-data.com/city/Mentor-Ohio.htmlYour point still stands, nonetheless. Mentor isn't North Hill. Besides, the kid had a full tuition scholarship. What the hell does he need to steal books for? Obviously his priorities were a little mixed.
