  1. It landed in the turn around btw the field house and the stadium what is that Vine st or something like that. There is not much there other than field house, rec, and stadium.
  2. A lifelight just touched down next to the Info, hope whatever happened isn't too serious. Not sure if our team was practicing or not.
  3. Officially Released: http://www.gozips.com/SportSelect.dbml?&am...amp;SPSID=47177 Oct 23rd will be the Day to Corral the Broncos as we play them in both Soccer and Football. I'm bummed that we played Syracuse in Football in the middle of the UNC weekend. I was lookin forward to going back after last year. A bunch of easily travelable games.
  4. Talked to one of the coaches today and he said Rogers is still not completly recovered from his injury but in the fall it will be a wide open competition.
  5. Pure speculation, but maybe Darryl Roberts gives up his scholarship? Pure speculation, but maybe Darryl Roberts gives up his scholarship, wins the Nobel Prize in Economics and we sign the under the radar monster wingspan man. Darryl Robers winning the Nobel Prize eh? More deserving than someone else i can think of I hear that person is going to win the Heisman Trophy this year based off of him attending a football game.
  6. Look who's on the top of the list. http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1398338

  8. Correction on that...April 15th is not the day that AC comes back on as some rumors stated. It is the day that UA LOOKS at turning it back on. They determine if it will get colder again and if there is a chance it will, they leave the heat on.
  9. Lots of fumbles, 5 that I can remember. Several recruits were there as well.
  10. They played on grass once last year (Penn State) and will play twice this year (Kentucky, Temple). The MAC title game is on artificial turf as well. Seems like the 50 yard practice field is fine for the frequency of play on natural grass. It's impossible to run a college football practice with over 100 guys on a 50 yard field, individual drills would be impossilbe, not to mention the kickers need a place to practice, and being that we have no goal posts on the grass space, that's impossible. If there's one position where practice on grass before a game on grass is an absolute must, it's kicking, and right now they have nowhere to do that. How about we worry about our kickers getting good on turf first. Let's not waste our time worrying about kicking on grass until we make our extra pts every time on turf.
  11. I went up and watched them at the Wollstein THIS year when they were ranked 15th maybe. It was a good basketball. I recommend going up for some good midmajor bball. The tickets we purchased were for the 2nd row of their student section (they knew we were students they just never said of who!) PS-I was rooting against CSU. B)
  12. It could be a Zoo of MAC mascots. We could have a kangaroo, bull, bobcat (Or a large housecat), an eagle/hawk (paint one half orange&brown, the other Blue & maze, the ass red, and the turds green), and a sled dog. The remainder of the animals can be found living free in the general vicinity campus. The zoo keeper can dress as a Chippewa. It would be like the ESPN commercials. This is completely ridiculous...no dentist has ever performed surgery on an eagle to give it teeth before so the zoo can not be accurate.
  13. Midmajors lose in National Championships. in epic ways..like not giving up a goal and losing in PKs....or giving up 2 goals in the final minute. My prediction-they are up by 10 with a minute left and lose.
  14. Well we knew this time would come but after taking Akron to 4 straight MAC Tourney finals and leading us to the postseason the last 3 years KD is moving on to a BCS school. Iowa has given him an offer he couldn't resist and which is a lot more than Akron can pay. OK APRIL FOOLS.
  15. The workers in the JAR team shop, the new team shop, and the little trailer they have at soccer games are all employees of Barnes & Nobles.
  16. So word is that Jake Barnett was released from Toledo. Avged 13ppg 1.5ast 37% 3pt 34 min a game. He is a 6-5 Guard. Do we want him?
  17. Well we do need another PG so thats good. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 5th player too...
  18. I posted this in another thread but I would like to make it a thread of its own... I went to the Marketing Department last week and asked some questions. They have no say in what is in the team shop since Barnes & Nobles is in charge of it. They can suggest things but BN doesn't have to listen to the request. This seems wrong to me. It is OUR team shop so AKRON ATHLETICS should be in charge of it. How did we get in this deal?
  19. ++ Concur with that sentiment -- as if I haven't been saying it for months. And, if TPSjuggler is correct -- we will be down to Zero on any slasher-type players. Is this addition by subtraction?? Don't worry I wasn't right at all.
  20. Steve Swiech is NOT leaving. He is not the type of person who would transfer out just for playing time. I would say Alex Sullivan is a good guess. The other I am going to say is Humpty. Both players got suspended this year. Humpty doesn't always get along with KD and throws fits. It will be one of these two.
  21. Coach K saw a need and filled it. Hope Dambrot can do this sometime. http://jucojunction.rivals.com/barrier_noe...p;mid=&rid=
  22. I was actually reasonably impressed with the way DeVaughn Washington (6-8, 225 lbs) performed this year -- 50% from the field, 70% on free throws, 11 points and 5 rebounds per game. He's not a dominator, but I think he will give Ohio a decent inside presence next year in his senior season. No doubt Washington is good inside, but my point was, Zeke tops him in height by 4 inches. Zeke averaged 16.8 min 5.1 pts 3.9 reb 1.7 blks Washington averaged 25.6 min 11.3 pts 5.4 reb .4 blks Zeke averages against Ohio 16.6 min 2.6 pts 3 reb 1 blks Washington averages against Akron 27.6 min 9.3 pts 6.6 reb .3 blks Ohio also has a 6' 10" player coming in next year so there goes the height advantage you speak of.
