Got an email announcing gametimes of 1st 2 games to be announced by joe Dunn And David Skoczen. I know not everyone cared for French and Dunn but just letting him go seems wrong

Is anyone else shocked by UA letting go Steve French and replacing him with Dave Skoczen? No offense to Dave but doesn’t 30plus years of doing zips games deserve a retirement goodbye?

I agree with most of what you said NW. However, to be clear Tim Lester at WMU only makes 800,000 before cuts, while Jason Candle makes 1,150,000 at Toledo. And they went 6-6 last year with no bowl game, and they lost to their big rival BG.

dustin fox has done color on several zips football broadcasts on espn3/+ the last couple years. Lets hope his ignorance is rewarded with no more games ever again. I believe UA must approve broadcast personnell .

in keeping with the memories theme, which I agree with. you have to remember back in the 80s when UA forced Huggins and company to go independent so football could be 1A. Life as an independent is not sustainable. Can we really justify flying our womens golf and cross country teams and the rest accross the country for (summit league) conference matches? It seems like whatever we save by dropping football would be spent on new expenses plus wed still have Infocision to pay off.

In defense of Reece, I thought at least two of his fouls were ticky tack at best. One involved the player behind him (Toure) reaching over for a rebound but the ref calling white 5. offensively his hands are so much better than Deng's. I think they need to give Sayles a few minutes earlier in game too -not just when Cam and Deng are fouled out. As of today in the NET ratings Akron has dropped to 88. Still tops in MAC. The Canton Charge will reportedly relocate from the 5200 seat Civic center to the new $75 million 5500 seat Hall of fame village sports arena. If anyone has seen the new (fawcett/Benson)stadium they know this new arena will be 1st class. Just doesnt seem fair-Neither Akron or the university combined can afford such a building but the NFL and its owners are building one for Stark county.

Is Groce interested in UA job? None of us really know. But hes under contract with Illinois for another (2, 3 ?) years meaning he is being paid already so salary is not the initial obstacle at least until his contract expires. Isnt it sickening to see that Cleveland is going to spend 140 Million to renovate Quicken Loans arena ( totally unnecessary) yet we cant even get a facelift of the JAR to keep Coach D! This is the 3rd multi million dollar renovation of the Q since it was built in 1994.

It was a nice run! But too good an offer to turn down. $7million Plus incentives Plus extra money for assistants. For 7 years, 50-60 Million renovation of an arena already nicer than the JAR. And the kicker, A10 conference. He wont have to win tournement to get in NCAA any more.
