Cool. You may get to see me fall on my ass. I'm the EMT/Trainer. I hang out on either side of the penalty boxes.

Spin replied to RootforRoo44's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
Just got DirecTV today, and Nate was tearing them up tonight. Very neat seeing him play again. Looks like he may have put on 5 or 6 ounces, too... lol You just never know, as awful as the Cadavers are, he might see time on the big league team this year. Especially with the injuries... -
State of ohio moves forward to the 1990s

BUT when it hits $5.00 and $6.00, that HSR that the other states have will look awful good... Could you show me some source for your prediction that gas prices will go up that high and that it would have any relation to high speed rail? Honestly, if you have it, I truly would like to see it. When is that predicted to happen? Show me where the world is NEVER going to start running out of petroleum. And I never said the price of gas has anything to do with HSR. But WHEN petrol goes up, for any of a bunch of reasons, it sure would be nice to have an alternative mode of transportation. Ohio is so stuck in the past I can't stand it. There are still people all over Ohio waiting around for the steel mills to open back up. WAKE UP. It's not the 50's anymore. There's a reason most of the worst rust belt wastelands are in Ohio and people are leaving everyday... -
Blah blah blah. They do it, so it's not so bad if we do it. Cam Newton blah blah. Tress is well respected among the NCAA. Not that that says much. And Akron doesn't discipline it's players (like the starting QB). The Buckeyes self reported it. But it was found out when the IRS investigated the tattoos. So which is it? Oh well, you can't have an objective conversation with a honk. It's not that I hate the Buckeyes, I proved otherwise. But their defending these jerks, and filing appeals, only a few weeks after Gee's elitist commentary, casts a pall over the Shoe for me. They're no better than the rest of the NCAA. Here's a point I haven't heard brought up yet. If the NCAA had any sense, they would have released their ruling AFTER the Sugar Bowl. Then there wouldn't be any controversy about these men playing in the bowl game, yet suspended in 2011. Not only are they money grubbing hypocrites, they're also very bad at hiding it.

Funny how people don't consider for a minute that the Ohio network would be only part of a nationwide network of high speed trains. They would just stop in Cincinnati, right? The line through Cleveland and Toledo would just stop at the Indiana broder, right? Come on, Ohio has been the hub of transportation since settlers started moving out of the colonies. We advertised it for years. Now all of that is going to BYPASS our fine state because some myopic politicians turned down millions of dollars, hundreds of jobs, and millions of dollars coming in from out of state. I'll be sure to bump this thread every time gas goes up another dollar per gallon... -
They're acting like these guys never KNEW it was illegal to do that stuff. BS If the Sweater Vest was such a virtuous and honest man, he would leave them guys in Columbus and not dress them for the bowl game. Instead, he's APPEALING the penalties. After he admitted they did it. Real men like JD and Keith kick men off of their teams for being stupid. The Vest makes excuses for them and files appeals. The NCAA was investigating the tatoo incident when they found all this other stuff that was illegally sold. THEN tOSU came out and reported it. I was born and raised an Ohio State fan, still have my autographed Archie Griffin picture. Still have tOSU clothes. Still hope they win. Unless they play Akron. But I don't take a blind eye to the hypocrisy fuelled by the NCAA. And I no longer see the Vest on the same throne as Jesus like a lot of "honks" do anymore. Thank you, you made my point. If it were Iowa or Ball State or John Carroll those guys would never see the field again. But because it was one of the NCAA's money machines, it's a double standard. I gotta think the rating$ are going to be a little bit better for tOSU Nebraska. Many in the media outside Ohio see it the same way.
-
However, if this was anyone other than OSU, you guys could care less. Yeah because tOSU still acts like they're holier-than-thou in all of this. Because tOSU just came out spouting off that it doesn't WANT anybody else besides them and their elitist buddies to be able to play in the BcS. Because if it were anyone else, those jerkoffs would be suspended for the BOWL GAME too. And magically they're back on the field before the Nebraska game? Pure coincidence I'm sure.

Imagine Can't being the one missing. Their idea of headline news is a swim team from the 1970's...

What a great role model too. Hope he grows roots in Akron.

Five new construction projects debut at akron

The library today is mostly used as a large study area with some books. It's a place you can study with friends and classmates away from the noise and chaos of the student union. You can also borrow textbooks from there, if you don't feel like buying them. Maybe it's the courses I'm taking, but the textbooks they do have are unable to be checked out. And you can only read them in-house for 2 hours at a time. I have had them brought in from other schools through OhioLink, but one I was three days late returning and wound up with a $50.00+ fine. The whole textbook thing is a sore subject for me... -
I don't know what happened to the old GoZips website, but the hockey team is back on the internet at https://sites.google.com/site/uakronhockeyc...keyclubteamhome Next home game is tomorrow (Saturday) at 4:00 at Center Ice. It's the last home game before Christmas break.

As much as I HATE to say it, I realized last night why LeBron left. What a freakin joke of a basketball team...

Even us old farts can yell and cheer with the best, when we decide to. Look no further than the soccer games or the Cavs games the past few years for a reference. When you've been through the decades of heartbreak and outright "same old shit, different season" we have, THEN you can criticize us.
