And Akron doesn't discipline it's players (like the starting QB). The Buckeyes self reported it. But it was found out when the IRS investigated the tattoos. So which is it? Oh well, you can't have an objective conversation with a honk. It's not that I hate the Buckeyes, I proved otherwise. But their defending these jerks, and filing appeals, only a few weeks after Gee's elitist commentary, casts a pall over the Shoe for me. They're no better than the rest of the NCAA. Here's a point I haven't heard brought up yet. If the NCAA had any sense, they would have released their ruling AFTER the Sugar Bowl. Then there wouldn't be any controversy about these men playing in the bowl game, yet suspended in 2011. Not only are they money grubbing hypocrites, they're also very bad at hiding it.

BUT when it hits $5.00 and $6.00, that HSR that the other states have will look awful good...

Funny how people don't consider for a minute that the Ohio network would be only part of a nationwide network of high speed trains. They would just stop in Cincinnati, right? The line through Cleveland and Toledo would just stop at the Indiana broder, right? Come on, Ohio has been the hub of transportation since settlers started moving out of the colonies. We advertised it for years. Now all of that is going to BYPASS our fine state because some myopic politicians turned down millions of dollars, hundreds of jobs, and millions of dollars coming in from out of state. They're acting like these guys never KNEW it was illegal to do that stuff. The NCAA was investigating the tatoo incident when they found all this other stuff that was illegally sold. THEN tOSU came out and reported it. I was born and raised an Ohio State fan, still have my autographed Archie Griffin picture. Still have tOSU clothes. Still hope they win. Unless they play Akron. But I don't take a blind eye to the hypocrisy fuelled by the NCAA. And I no longer see the Vest on the same throne as Jesus like a lot of "honks" do anymore. Thank you, you made my point. If it were Iowa or Ball State or John Carroll those guys would never see the field again. But because it was one of the NCAA's money machines, it's a double standard. I gotta think the rating$ are going to be a little bit better for tOSU Nebraska. Many in the media outside Ohio see it the same way.

However, if this was anyone other than OSU, you guys could care less. Yeah because tOSU still acts like they're holier-than-thou in all of this. Because tOSU just came out spouting off that it doesn't WANT anybody else besides them and their elitist buddies to be able to play in the BcS. Because if it were anyone else, those jerkoffs would be suspended for the BOWL GAME too. And magically they're back on the field before the Nebraska game? Pure coincidence I'm sure.

The library today is mostly used as a large study area with some books. It's a place you can study with friends and classmates away from the noise and chaos of the student union. You can also borrow textbooks from there, if you don't feel like buying them. Maybe it's the courses I'm taking, but the textbooks they do have are unable to be checked out. And you can only read them in-house for 2 hours at a time. I have had them brought in from other schools through OhioLink, but one I was three days late returning and wound up with a $50.00+ fine. The whole textbook thing is a sore subject for me...

Even us old farts can yell and cheer with the best, when we decide to. Look no further than the soccer games or the Cavs games the past few years for a reference. When you've been through the decades of heartbreak and outright "same old shit, different season" we have, THEN you can criticize us.

This is the thinking that drives college football, and will hold back anybody but about a dozen programs for anything (championships, awards) as long as these elitists are in control. He likes to brag about how strong the Big Ten schedule is. But the bottom half of the Big Ten would have a real challenge in the WAC, MWC, CUSA, or MAC. Why should the 104th and 105th rated programs in the country be eligible for stuff the 3rd and 4th rated teams are? Just because of their conference? If the conference is the only problem, let these schools into the "legacy" conferences and drop some of the dead weight. They don't WANT anyone outside the big 4 or 5 conferences to be able to show what they're capable of. They just might be that good. I'm glad college basketball isn't controlled by these elitists...

It think there's some growth, whether it ever moves into the top four I don't know. It's making strides, but we'll need more than just the 2010 WC to keep the momentum going. I also think the haters are going to hate and will never change. That's nothing against the sport, each one has it's detractors. They just happen to like the popular sports and want to criticize everyone else. If it were the other way around... So we criticize a sport because an athlete is 5'8 and not built for basketball or football. That's a reach... Maybe Zeke wanted to play soccer but was too tall and uncoordinated. Does that mean basketball is stupid? Maybe we should compare attendance figures within UAkron...
