  4. Hello MeatChicken, meet Justin Marsh. Four TO's!!!
  5. That was fun.But it looks like they wore down our D. Holy shit, we just led the #11 team in the country in the second half!!!!
  6. Didn't JD fire his recruiting coordinator because of recruiting violations?
  7. Wait... Santonio can't read???
  8. First class, all the way.
  9. So How Bout them (Okie State) Cowboys???
  10. "And the hits just keep on coming..."
  11. It's Oklahoma State and our old pal, Les Miles. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-f...e-part-1-money/ The more I hear about this one, the worse it gets. Ohhh, this one is gingto take several issues of SI to tell it all. And the more I don't want Akron to try to be big and act like these hooligans.
  12. Another OT post that kind of goes along with soccer credibility. Did you guys see the crowd at Columbus Crew stadium last night? Holy crap, as fast as that sold out, it's too bad Cleveland didn't get the Mexico game instead, we would have sold CBS out (something the Browns rarely do LOL).
  13. The fight song hasn't changed in about a hundred years. I'm not a fan of the wholesale uniform changes other schools have done, like the day glow colors and trendy patterns. It sounds just like the newbs who want to change the Cleveland Browns colors and add a stupid logo to the helmets. You don't see the New York Yankees going 70's Houston Astros noise or the Chicago Bears going Jacksonville Gag-uars garb. Some teams see the class in heritage. I do like alternate throwback jerseys (except the Steelers, those things make me throw up, not back). That would be cool. And give the people who want an A on the helmet something to look forward to. But I'd rather they not screw with any of it, and put the money toward recruiting...
  14. Back on the winning end!!!
  15. Agreed. It's only an identity crisis for people who don't give a rats ass about the heritage and tradition of their school.
  16. The seats did look empty during the rain shower. If you didn't have enough sense to look at the packed concourse.
  17. I didn't know they had to wait for the Zips to line up before running a play...
  18. I should add, we need MORE early season night games. There's nothing like a football game under the lights. Until we start hearing "wind chill factor", that is.
  19. JUst got back from the game. OMG we came out flat, giving up an easy TD, puking the kickoff, and then giving up another easy TD. Then the offense finally made it to the foeld and went three and out. No intensity, they finally lit a fire after being down 13. We had two penalties for illegal substitution that kept JM drives alive. And then we wasted a TO on a $%#@&%$ extra point. JM was down 2, and the Akron coaches looked surprised they were going for two!!! They seemed slow to react when JM ran it up the middle over and over and over again. They still kept the safeties standing in front of the JAR. I'm still not excited about this coaching staff yet. The offense got it together, somewhat. But the D couldn't stop anybody in the 1st and 3rd quarters. If they play like that against Michigan and Louisiana, it's going to be UGLY. The D came up big when it needed it most. The Dukes may have had a first down at the end, when the Zips didn't let the runner hit the ground. But from where I was sitting, they got a gimme a couple plays before when the receiver caught the ball out of bounds and they still got the first down.So either way, the game ended fair. They also had a bad habit of wasting time outs, and it bit them in the ass. Great win tonight at home, against a very good team. A good way to turn on a very nice crowd. I'm still going with 3 wins.
  20. delete my mouse battery must be dying
  21. Good news for Will!! I think Brian will make a good coach. Even with that mess down there, I hope he gets a chance.
  22. You think the MAC would boot it's top basketball and soccer programs because the football program bolted? I just don't see the correlation. Although, now that you mention it, would you rather be in the Horizon League? Valpo and Butler at the JAR every year, intrastate rivalries with CSU, YSU, and Wright St (and non=con with Can't State obviously). Less fodder than the MAC West. Just thinking out loud of course, just for fun. Football's not dropping, although the super-programs may drop all the mids. And we're not getting a new arena anytime soon. With or without a full sized floor.
  23. According to Zac, football losing the B10 revenue would be a financial disaster for the other programs. Except eliminating millions of dollars in funding for those other programs.
  24. I do enjoy it, in fact my season tix just came in the mail today for football. This is the first time I'm attempting all of the games. OT, are kids under 5 free? The grandkids will be here and I might just bring one of them to the game.
  25. Sounds like several very good reasons to play FCS football and have a lot more fun... My high school won their conference and went to the playoffs. In Division 4. It was a hell of a lot of fun. And if things had fallen into place, we could have had a chance to win the state championship. In Division 4. Nobody whined and moaned about not trying to be Whitmer and Moeller and St. Eds. Nobody would have traded that experience for a 42-0 ass kicking in Massillon. Same with the Canton Invaders. While we were celebrating an indoor soccer championship, nobody complained that we weren't playing ManU and Barcelona. It's about living within your means.
