  1. The double OT game was during 2007-2008 season. Dials was the shooter. We played again at Dayton during the 2010-2011 season and lost by 8.
  2. KD's Buyout $100,000 Search Firm ($60,000) Net Gain $40,000 One of the purposes of having a contract buyout is to cover the costs of finding a replacement. Seems disingenuous to act like this cost the university.
  3. I would guess pretty much any candidate that would have been interested a couple months ago would still be interested now assuming they didn't take another gig. It's not the norm, but it's really not that late for a coaching change. For comparison, Matta was hired on July 7th. I don't think they make the move without having a really good idea who the next guy will be.
  4. To make the move now, it feels like they almost have to have someone in place. No way they didn't reach out candidates through back channels before firing Matta, right? They can do better than Crean.
  5. She "unretired" the following year. Saw her last year at another game, still as great as the first time I saw her. http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/156613178/red-panda-krystal-niu-nba-halftime-acrobat
  6. But you are doing the exact opposite. You are spinning for whatever reason not to include OSU. The "facts" you bring up aren't even true most of time. I already pointed out the huge flaw in the "late season loss" argument and how it isn't accurate. Maybe your reading comprehension aren't that good either.
  7. No, he's not. He's arguing against Ohio State. Same as you. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm not even OSU fan, so I'll save you that reply. With five P5 conferences and only four playoff spots, playoff expansion that would have given WMU an auto bid is really the only thing that would help a school like Akron.
  8. You've been stating that Penn State should have been ahead of Ohio State. That's an interesting way of sticking up for your alma-mater.
  9. They fell to 6th/8th depending on what poll you want to use. Didn't have anything to do with preseason because they had already beaten highly ranked Oklahoma and Wisconsin on the road at that point. But it really doesn't matter. As I already mentioned, there were 10 0-1 loss P5 teams at that time with OSU, all of which except Alabama/OSU lost after that game. Multiple times in a number of cases. It really doesn't mean a damn thing how far you want to drop them in Week 8? because they were going to pass them regardless when those teams in front of them kept losing.
  10. OSU/UM were 2 of only 5 P5 teams at the time with 1 loss or less. They got those "labels" because of pre-season polls?
  11. Would Arizona (7-8-1) get in over Seattle (10-5-1) because they would be West Division Champs because of a better Division record? College conference champs ignore overall record, so I can only assume that is the preferred method? As much criticism of the college football selection process as their has been, the teams with the best records have still gotten in every single year.
  12. The four P5 teams with 1 loss or less made the playoffs. Three years ago it would been a debate about which 1-loss team would face Bama. The talking heads would have brought up their dream "Plus One" scenerio where there we be a 4-team playoff and foolishly mention that it would end all debate. I can only imagine the horror of the NFL letting teams with the best records in the playoffs. The absolute horror of a 7-9 Division champ not being let in the playoffs in favor of 10-6 team from a different Division. Wake me up from that nightmare. It's completely asinine to suggest that it still wouldn't be the teams with best records as in college football.
  13. TCU lost to Baylor in the 5th game that season. Both lost early in the season. The OSU/PSU game was midseason and was before any Playoff Rankings came out. Clemson and Washington both lost later in the season. as did every other P5 school with 0-1 losses at the time not named Alabama. You'd be better off sticking with the "early season loss is less" argument. As for the bias, in 2014 that if it was "Texas" and "Oklahoma" instead of "Baylor" and "TCU" that I would guess that Ohio State probably doesn't get in. But in 2016, I can't rationalize how the #2 team in AP and Coaches poll doesn't make a four-team playoff.
  14. NIU was one of 20 schools who were interviewed. I think anyone who applied got an interview. Waste of time.
  15. "Partial" qualifiers are not academically eligible either. To be more accurate, there hasn't been such thing as a partial qualifier for more than a decade. The "partial" just refers to the waiver granted by the NCAA in response to the initial eligibility waiver request. The NCAA also can grant full approval to someone who is not academically eligible and they will be eligible to play right away. Or they can receive a full denial. I didn't take the comments as "not academically eligible" as a denial of a waiver of request.
  16. Not necessarily. Partial qualifiers are eligible to receive a scholarship and practice with the team. Just not eligible to participate in games.
  17. People change their minds. That’s why most don’t care about a list of teams that turned us down in prior years. Especially when they include teams that have said “Yes” in the recent past. A lot of times it comes down to having the right dates open. I could have let this go until you doubled down by suggesting that Louisville might be having difficulty scheduling because of certain issues. Here is reality: H-Kentucky (11) H-Akron (34) H-William & Mary (67) H-Evansville (93) H-Eastern Kentucky (211) @ Grand Canyon (91) N-Indiana (24) N- Battle 4 Atlantis -3 games vs. Michigan State(12), Baylor (25), VCU(37), Wichita St (47), LSU (94), Old Dominion(140), St. Johns (246) H-TBD- Battle 4 Atlantis Opening Game H-TBD- Big Ten/ACC Challenge
  18. IMO, I don't see the marginal revenue being enough to justify increasing to 20-team leagues. With that said, if the events in your post did play out, I think it would be the B12 that would cease to exist, not the ACC. You'd still have 8 ACC schools remaining, UConn/Cincy from the AAC would quickly bring them to 10. West Virginia could easily be plucked from the B12 sinking ship. The ACC would be in the power position.
