  3. Starting right now in the JAR...will give updates if no one wants to watch the MAC stream. Watching stream with mute, along with listening to 1350am(MAC stream is static)...
  4. it always seems to be this way when we travel up to Northwest Ohio.
  5. Why are we playing in a zone? It slows the tempo, and doesn't prepare us for saturday's game. Press up!!!!!!
  6. Sounds like BG is controlling the tempo...We need to speed the tempo up here...BG can't score enough points...only way they have a chance to win, is to keep it in the 50's, lower 60's
  7. it directs me to espn3
  8. any stream online? can't get ESPN3 and firstrowsportseu not working for me...listening to French right now
  9. Jay Bilas with another tweet: Jay Bilas Tweet #5 about Akron Caption says "Nike did the Zips right. These new unis are sweet. I'll be stylin' at the Y, kicking tail with my "old man game."
  10. Yes I did...Thought it was great he's ripping on Ohio all of a sudden...However, if you look at ESPN main site, Bilas has Cooper as the "best passer in NCAAB"... Which tells me he will be trying to catch the Ohio-Akron game on ESPNU, and him getting a jersey means he most likely will now!
  11. Mama Zeke, you beat me to it Here's his other tweets: Jay Bilas Tweet #1 Jay Bilas Tweet #2 Jay Bilas Tweet #3 (The one that Mama Zeke mentioned) Jay Bilas Tweet #4
  12. ESPN Cleveland 850AM just talked about social media night...Tony Rizzo, an OU grad, talked about how both squads are undefeated in MAC play. Talks about NCAA "no" a little bit...i'll look for a podcast if they post it... Zac Jackson's article on social media night
  13. I saw that Jay Bilas, Pat Forde, Zac Jackson, Michael DeCourcy, Fran Fraschilla, Mike and Mike in the Morning, Darren Rovell, Andy Katz, Seth Greenberg, Seth Davis, and others received or are receiving jerseys.... Quite remarkable actually. Don't get to say this often, so I'll say it when I can...GREAT JOB MARKETING DEPARTMENT!!!!!!! Seth Greenberg already tweeted about the jersey and talked a little Akron basketball as well: Seth Greenberg Akron Tweet #1 Seth Greenberg Akron Tweet #2 Seth Greenberg Akron Tweet #3

  15. Possible "Sweet Sixteen" matchup with David Kool...
  16. Oops...thats what happens when I look at mens and womens standings at same time.
  17. Final from the JAR...With Toledo beating BGSU today, Akron Lady Zips now leads the MAC East by themselves...
  18. Right now i agree with you. At the moment, I feel Toledo, CMU, and Miami(OH) are better. However, people said Cincinnati was better than Akron too People said Michigan was better than Akron a few years ago, but by the post-game press conference by the Michigan coach, we saw what that outcome was on that day.
  19. To me, basketball is basketball. It's my most passionate sport, so maybe that's why I don't understand how people prefer one over the other. But I guess people still have the prejudging of female athletics still, which I guess is understandable since we aren't too far away from the beginning of Title IX, but still...just seems like I'm the only "true" basketball fanatic...
  20. Yeah...this is what I thought...No one wants to talk about the positives in Akron athletics...all people want to talk about is the negative...go ahead, but I'm done with the negativity...I'm going to support the teams that are going in the right direction, and also the teams that aren't. HOWEVER, the difference is I will talk about the teams going in the right direction, instead of the teams going in the wrong direction. It's easy to coach from your computer chair, but when things go right, I give kudos to where it is deserving, and the women's basketball team deserves that...
  21. Here's the Cincinnati highlights:
  22. And that team is the women's basketball team. Everyone is getting frustrating about the men's basketball team, so why not support the team that is producing wins and decent basketball? The women's team is 8-2, and here is their schedule/results on who they've played so far: v Hiram W, 83-24 @ Tennessee Tech W, 78-67 v Bryant W, 78-56 @ St. Francis(PA) L, 73-74 @ Providence W, 81-78 @ St. Peter's W, 103-57 v Canisius W, 81-72 @ George Mason W, 65-49 v Wright State L, 71-73 v Cincinnati W, 67-54 They've had two hiccups against St. Francis(PA) and Wright State. Their only two losses are by a combined 3 points. They host a top 25 team in Dayton(#17) tuesday night at 5:30 in the JAR. Everyone should come and support the team in their quest for the MAC title and a high seed in the NCAA tournament...
  23. seriously? You're going to compare men's and women's basketball records?!?!?!?! You really amaze me. Almost every post I see from you is pessimistic. Comparing women's basketball record to men's basketball record is like comparing cars to buses. It's not the same. You're underrating the women's program, who will have their best season in program history, and then you berate the men's program, who has dealt with a lot of adversity, and will have a very good season. I'm starting to think you're just an OSUcks fan that occasionally posts on here to bash on akron athletics. Only reason I say that is because I haven't seen one positive post out of you in a long time.
  24. Every chance you can take a shot at Dambrot, you do. It's quite sad to be honest. Just because you have a blog, doesn't mean you know more than the current coaches. I even recall you saying one time at a tailgate you knew more about what soccer decisions need to be made than Porter during 2011 season. Anyways, We win that game if we made more intelligent basketball decisions on the court. Dambrot can't make those decisions for the players, as he's not playing on the court. I really don't understand why KD is getting so much heat for that OOB play. It's all about execution. You could have the best X's and O's coach in the world, but if your players don't execute at all, it doesn't matter. With no Treadwell or Harney, and our two bigs picking up 5 quick fouls in the first few minutes of the game, I feel Dambrot coached one of his best games of his career to be honest. It was just basketball instinct/decision-making down the stretch that hurt us...Even with the amount of shots and layups we missed. At full strength and/or an average shooting day, we win this game by 20... It will get better...People may laugh at me at the moment, but I believe if this team develops like they should, we'll be right in the middle of March Madness...
  25. I have moved on. All I was doing was replying to someone saying that he was bragging Akron basketball to co-workers in September, and probably before that as well. Which on paper then, we were looking good for a major season... That's all i meant by if we had all three... It will be a successful season for Akron basketball in general. Women's basketball off to a great start at 2-0, and wouldn't be surprised if both Akron teams have #1 seeds going into MAC tourney...
