They will..you have to remember, and i feel like im hitting my own dead horse about this, but we're one of the top 20 youngest teams in the NATION...out of the 320 DI college basketball schools...just saying.. This team against last year's Akron team wouldn't even be close. This year's team would blow them out...

yeah...and if we forced it inside even if they weren't opened and turned the ball over, then we would be all still blaming Dambrot...seesh... People have to understand, it's so easy to turn the ball over there...just because Zeke is tallest player on court, doesn't mean the ball can get there...because the passer may not be able to see where the ball should be at because they're being guarded someone their size...it's easier to TV coach than to play in the game or coach on the sidelines...trust me on that...

People do understand how much of a veteran team Northwestern is and how young we are, right? And they only beat us by two on their floor. We're not losing anyone really, except for Cvetinovic, who we'll miss in MAC regular season play, but not much when it comes to non-conference play. A lot of heartbreaker losses this year may be a good thing for this squad, other than the seniors obviously. Other than the Ohio, Middle Tennessee State, and West Virginia losses, were we blown out? I don't think so...This team will learn from those close losses. NCAA committee made a strong point that non-conference SOS is critical. With Creighton, Cleveland State, Middle Tennessee State, Marshall, Detroit(i think?), the Puerto Rico Tip-off(Akron, Xavier, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Penn State, Oklahoma State, Providence, and NC State), we should be able to pick up some quality non-conference wins, and maybe even add a couple to it still...

Not surprised about Toledo...they paid the WNIT to host the whole tournament basically...they won the WNIT without leaving Toledo...

Figured to get this going...I am one of the posters that I will follow the Zips where ever they play in Postseason. I was beyond livid when The Zips didn't care when they had a home game against UW-Green Bay in CBI. I don't understand how players don't want to keep playing, even if it means not the NCAA tournament. You first started to play the game because you love it, and us fans follow the sport/team because we like or love the sport as well. IF anyone watched the Selection Show yesterday, it sounded like non-conference strength of schedule was a deciding factor for the selection committee. So, because of that, can't wait to see what our schedule would look like. Here's a start on that: Puerto Rico Tip-off Teams Akron Southern Miss Xavier Penn State Oklahoma State Tennessee Providence NC State It's not a bad field of teams. If we expect to be where we think we should be next year, we need to win this tournament or at least make it to the finals. We should be the crowd favorite with two players from Puerto Rico on our team next year...

If you feel deprived of Cleveland this mid week due to new tournament format, You can come out and watch the Lady Zips at 2:30pm today in the 2nd round against Northern Illinois at the Q. They lost to NIU 72-66 earlier in year, and really should of won that game. Players know that, and want to get some revenge. If the Lady Zips win today, they'll play tomorrow at 2:30pm against #3 seed Toledo...

I wonder if some MAC voters still can't get over the fact of what happened in Mount Pleasant a couple decades ago, and they would rather vote for any other coach in the MAC, than Dambrot...

11th and 12th seeds are both going to Cleveland while Charlie Coles is not making it to Cleveland. When has that happened? Not at all...this is really a season of firsts in the MAC...let's hope it ends there for Buffalo...

I think she might of meant two years ago. When the last game of season was at Akron, and it was a white out, on ESPN2, and we got embarrassed on our home floor in the 2nd half...

really? Last time i checked, out of the six 2011 state champions, 4 of them were from NE Ohio. The year before, it was 3 of them.

Out of 15 players that have signed so far today, 7 of them are from Ohio, 3 from Florida, 2 from Pennsylvania, 1 from Michigan, 1 from West Virginia, and 1 from New Jersey. More importantly, out of those 7 Ohio players, 5 of them are from Northeast Ohio...

I would love to go to every single game as a student; however, I can't go to majority of the games. I coach basketball and majority of our games are on wednesdays and saturdays. So it's hard for me to catch any games usually...been able to catch a few, show up after halftime for a few after coming from practice, and so forth...but it's just hard...so in some cases, there are people that care, just can't make it due to other obligations... which is why i would guess that a Televised, weekday, game will get between 2-3K...

What I thought was crucial tonight, was that Jones may of beaten Marshall around a bit, but when KD took Zeke out, in came Tree...Jones certainly had his problems against Treadwell tonight...hard for any post player to be mentally ready for two different types of post players...

I'm not sure how much credit to put on this, but according to ASN, Wistrcill told the hockey team that they plan on making them from a club team to a scholarship team. ASN is the only place covering Akron hockey, so i figured they might of been told this by the hockey team on what Wistrcill said. If this is true, could we see an arena be built where it could be used for basketball and hockey? To be completely honest, I want to keep the JAR. It would be a great place to host volleyball matches, basketball practice, summer camps/shootouts that the basketball teams have(sure volleyball does too), and would create more jobs for the Akron area if they keep the JAR, and then build an arena for games..." look under "Other News"
