Not sure how surprising it is, I would have thought Barrett, but Schmitt has been solid in past years. Not the most talented guy, but I love his hustle. Can't hurt with the coaches!

Yeah, the numbering is terrible. I wouldn't have minded as much last year when I knew who everyone is, but being able to read the numbers is especially important as I'm trying to figure out who everyone is.

Actually it's home undefeated streak. That Cal match in the quarterfinals was officially a draw and we advanced on PKs. Either way it's still an NCAA record.

Don't forget that even though OSwho had a record crowd at that game. The Rowdies absolutely took over the place at that game. Screw Ohio State. THIS IS AKRON!

Along the same lines as new chants/ songs for the Rowdies, I would love to see them mix up the "When the Zips go Marching In" and do it along the lines that Tottenham Hotspur of the Premier League does it. The current version we do works great for the march, but this version would be sweet at times as well.

This may have been discussed in the past and I just missed it, but I walked past the college of education site this morning where Memorial hall once stood and they have back-filled in the area and planted grass. Anyone know anything about this? Did they come up short on funding or something?

The Cal game was incredible. I get goose bumps just thinking about it. Without a doubt the most incredible sporting event I've ever attended. The swings in momentum were incredible. Standing on that hill with 1500 other UA students is something I'll never forget. It was one huge roller coaster of emotions. I went from feeling like I would throw up to screaming in excitement. Simply amazing. Especially in PKs, standing shoulder to shoulder, arms linked with strangers. Heart pounding out of my chest. And then the Kofi PK. You could hear a pin drop when he stepped up. Followed by an absolute explosion! Is it August 25 yet!

I heard that Timber Joey is going to cut the cake at the wedding. haha

My guesses, UCSB away on October 5th and Wake Forest at home on October 29thAgreed. Only thing that might make it different is that FSC likes to broadcast Friday night games and the UCSB game is on a Wednesday.The Zips have no regular season Friday home games scheduled. In the past, FSC has broadcast Wednesday night games; that's why, besides the opponent/atmosphere, I'm confident in the UCSB away game. At home, if it's not WFU, it could be one of the Little 12...blOSU, PSU, or MSU.Actually the game against New Mexico on September 16 is a Friday night game. Don't think this would be worth an FSC broadcast though.

That's exactly what I was thinking. THey would be better than most teams, because of style of play and possession. However, that's exactly what Akron excels at equalizing out that factor. Then we'd win based on size and athleticism advantages over the women.
