  1. Thanks Jacob. That was awesome. Take a look at #63 -- Harlem Globetrotter futbol! Hilarious Also, watch #21 by Falcao -- reminds one of Roger Federer, between the legs!No problem. If you have a youtube account, I'd highly recommend subscribing to that channel. Thursdays get a boost when I get to watch the goals of the week.
  2. There's this channel on youtube that puts up a top ten goals of the week from around the world. Unfortunately, since it's FIFA offseason he just switched to goals of the year. However Darlington's goal made the list at the 11:10 point in the video. If you enjoy soccer/ football you should watch the entire 12:00 video. There are some unreal goals in there and our own Darlington Nagbe made the list!
  3. Trending nationwide on twitter as I type this...
  4. I'm going to be there with several other Zips fans. Any chance Gavin will be back?
  5. According to Speas's FB wall, he is indeed transferring to UNC. What a great opportunity for him. Hope he does well as long as he's not playing the Zips.
  6. CVCA as a matter of fact.
  7. Exactly. Dagilis is a great example of this. Started in 2008, but was pushed to the bench by the likes of Barson and Valentin.
  8. I think that part of this probably just comes with the territory of recruiting the top players in the country. When they realize they aren't going to get the playing time they feel they deserve, they'd rather transfer to a school where they can start. Speas on the other hand confuses me. Personally, I thought he deserved more playing time last year, but it looked like he was going to get his chance this year...
  9. Can't read, Can't write, Can't count, Can't State. LOL
  10. "Have a good life everybody!" What a class act. Someday I'll tell my kids about the greatest announcer to ever call the game of basketball. We've truly been blessed to have him calling the Cavalier games.
  11. Like MD said, Xavier made the tourney last year. In fact, they got really close to knocking out WVU. If memory serves me right they went up by a couple goals early in that one before WV made a comeback. Also, Chris Korb was a transfer from Xavier.
  12. The extended post-game made me wish they could have done something similar for the College Cup...
  13. I think we're going to see how good of a keeper Meves is this year. In the past he has had a lot of clean sheets because he hardly ever had to make a save. This year he's going to have to earn those clean sheets.
  14. Match Highlights KC v. Vancouver
  15. First off, nice turnout for a spring match. A lot of schools would love to see that many people at a regular season match. Game play was sloppy at best today. I didn't see the Zips string together a lot of passes like we're used to. That will come with time and chemistry. Our back line was pretty bad today. Hopefully the freshmen can really step up this fall. Porter tried a lot of different looks today. At one point there were 8 mids on the field with Barson, Mattocks and Meves the only guys truly in their positions. At the time Speas was up top and Holmes was tucked back in the midfield which I found interesting. A few of the individual performances that I remember well enough to write about: Mattocks: Same old Darren. Flashy on the ball. Loves to have the ball at his feet at run at guy. Needs a lot of maturity for this team to do well this year. Seemed to be a me first guy for a majority of the match. Needs to learn to pass the ball instead of doing it all himself. Great shot on the goal from outside the box. Holmes: I really like what I saw out of Holmes. He had a great shot on goal from a header that was cleared by a UM defender. Had another shot on goal that bounced off the downed defender over the goal. Looked cool and calm on the ball and my first impression was that he can be a major contributor for this team. Stevenson. Started at right-back and shifted left late in the game. looked really good in joining the attack and I think that he could fill in for Kofi well in that role. Unfortunately, he was weak in defense and from my angle, I think he was partially responsible for the first goal.
  16. Teal Bunbury returned from his injury today and scored a goal for KC. Guess that means he'll be on the pitch in a few weeks when KC comes to Columbus. Too bad he wasn't healthy enough to train with the USMNT for their game tonight. I think Bunbury and Agudelo up top may be the future of US soccer. Agudelo has two goals in three matches and is only 18. Pretty impressive!
  17. I have to root for VCU, since they're playing in Akron next year. The farther they go, the better that looks on our schedule.
  18. Great article from MLS website
  19. And we beat Can't to get to the tourney! I love all their fans saying that they'd rather be deep in the NIT than have a first round loss. Do you really think they would be saying that if they had beaten us?
  20. I figured out the missing link between Butler and VCU and therefore the secret to Akron's success in the future... All we have to do to become an elite program in NCAA basketball is to fire Dambrot and hire a 30 something head coach! Presto! It's that simple!
  21. Nagbe is still injured. Zarek plays for the Goats.
  22. Thats the way of it. I just surprised me because of its uncommon nature. That's what I've always heard too. Now that we've shown we know our origins, what exactly is a fl@sh??
  23. Zakuani should have had two assists. Great balls into the box!
  24. Zakuani is in the starting XI. This is the year that the Zips take over the MLS! Go Zips!
