  1. Only reason I won't be wearing blue, is because the Rowdies shirts are black this year. At least they're not gold.
  2. Pardon my ignorance, but if Miami were to lose to OU or Buffalo, and the Zips win out. What would the tie breaker be? Head to Head is a draw. Does it then go to overall record??
  3. This is AWESOME! Thank you so much!
  4. Souders is in the starting XI for the USA U-17 game that is live right now over at ESPN3.com.
  5. Why do we have to assume they fixed the car? Until someone else does wins with the yellow car, I think that we should give credit to my incredible driving abilities! Heck, I consider myself part of history as being the first person to ever win with the yellow car!
  6. I mostly blame the JAR. Absolutely. The facility was to blame, not the students. The JAR was only allowing older folks in for this game. The JAR stopped students at the door and wouldn't let them in. If I were a student, I'd organize a protest against the JAR for discrimination. Obviously, the JAR wasn't stopping us students from attending, but it may have been preventing an accurate reading of how many students were actually there. The floor seats were fairly empty last night, but who is to say that there weren't quite a few students in the GA seating? Until we have one large designated student section, it is going to be really difficult to tell how many students attend. From where I was sitting on the floor, I picked out several students in Rowdies shirts in GA. I know that last year as a freshmen I didn't join the Rowdies and I attended quite a few games in the GA section. I'm not on the Rowdies board, but if I were here is my suggestion for filling the floor seats: I think that the floor seats should be opened up for all students 10-15 minutes before tip off. If you're a Rowdy and want to guarantee a floor seat, then show up a little early. Otherwise, those seats should be offered to the other UA students. Last night's basketball game was great and it's a shame that more floor seats weren't filled.
  7. Nice article over at Soccer by Ives about Nagbe's progress so far.
  8. The fact is that pretty much any of the MLS Zips could play in Europe in some of the second tier leagues, the real question is which one will play in one of the elite leagues such as the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, or La Liga. If I had to bet, I would say that it would be Bunbury or Zakuani. I've been surprised how much Bunbury has improved. Quite honestly, with the way he disappeared in the Cup last year, I wasn't sure if he had it in him. I was definitely wrong though!
  9. Thanks to the debacle that was "The Decision", everyone thinks he's a pompous, egotistical a$$. Is that really the guy we want as the face of Akron in the first place?
  10. What did Cribbs even do this past year? He was injured half the season. Joe Thomas made the pro-bowl and Choo is one of the top few Right Fielders in the MLB. Doesn't make any sense to me.
  11. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the UA Men's soccer team was nominated for the college athlete of the year along with Ricky Stanzi from Iowa, and Jantel Lavender from OSWHO. Awards show tonight at 7:00.
  12. Part Three I have to say, I love being part of the Rowdies!
  13. +1 To be without the two cogs in our offensive system severely crippled the 2009 team in the College Cup. Everyone usually points out Ampai was out, and forget that Nano was out too.
  14. I know that this is completely hypothetical, but what would this 2010 team have looked like if Zakuani, Bunbury and Gavin hadn't left early. Could you even imagine a lineup of: -------Zakuani--Bunbury-------- --Ampai/Nanchoff----Nagbe----- --------Gavin------Kitchen------ --Korb--Barson-Valentin--Kofi- -------------Meves--------------- Just the thought of it is amazing, and really makes you realize just how incredible what Porter has done here is.
  15. At the official celebration at the JAR, the athletics department put together an amazing highlight montage set to "Kings and Queens" by 30 Seconds to Mars. Does anyone know where I could find this video? I'm thinking that there are probably some copyright issues with ESPN, but I hope I'm wrong.

  17. Another fantastic article. Too bad there is some troll over there claiming that Akron plays negative football and just packs it in to win at all costs. Couldn't be further from the truth. Besides being , the best thing about Akron is their style of play.
  18. atdhe.tv looks a lot better than atdhe.me Edit: It worked for me one moment and now it's redirecting to a betting site. Sorry!
  19. A few months ago, this would have been really bad, but Time Warner now has ESPN3 and it's pretty amazing. Seems like just about every top 25 matchup is on there.
  20. While on the topic of Bunbury. The USMNT match in Cairo next week has been cancelled due to the political unrest going on in Egypt.
  21. Due to the fact that Mattocks and Soony Saad of Michigan were the two highest scoring freshmen last year, I thought this was a good fit for this topic. Mattocks was second highest scoring freshmen this year behind Saad of the University of Michigan. Saad announced today on Soccer by Ives that he will be pursuing a pro career in Europe. All I have to say is I'm glad this happened to UM and not Akron. Hopefully Mattocks continues his goal scoring ways next year.
  22. Nik is 3-3 in the post. Need to go to him more down there. Silas is unstoppable.
  23. Just had a thought. Why didn't Bunbury take PKs in the College Cup last year?? Bunbury really impressed me. I was skeptical of whether he was ready for this level, but in his two USMNT caps, he has really impressed me. Between Teal, Agudelo, and Jozy, the forward position is looking bright for the USA.
  24. GOOOOOAAAAALLLLLL!!!! Bunbury scores on the PK set up by an Agudelo run. Those two up top make for an entertaining front line.
