What a stupid article! I'm sure he never imagined OU would knock off Georgetown last year either. That's the beauty of this tourney, all it takes is for McNees and D-Rob to get hot from deep and you never know what could happen!

Careful. Texas Tech & Georgia Tech are in need of head coaches. If KD can pull an upset in the ncaa and get some more notice, they may come looking; he has plenty of career left and no one could begrudge him a move up from the 1-bid mid-major MAC. I actually heard that KD's name has been mentioned in connection with TT. Don't think there's much to it, but the fact that he was mentioned is a tribute to the man. KD truly is a class act. Good coach who produces great young men.

I think that after the last two or three games (especially the double OT game where half our team fouled out) the League called them in today and told them LET THEM PLAY Must have had that talk in between the games yesterday. They let them play in the second game last night too. If they let them play, Zeke is one of the best players in the MAC.

We saw today the kind of player Zeke can be if he doesn't have to worry about getting called for a foul every time he breathes on the guy he is defending. As the game went on and Zeke realized that the refs weren't picking on him, you could see his confidence building. Great game from the big fellow!

Definitely, best example would be Scott Caldwell. I don't think anyone would rank him very high nationally, but he fits Porter's system well and look what happened last post-season! Ummmm... Well, here's from Caldwell's UA bio. Member of U-18, U-17, U-15 and U-14 U.S. national youth teams ... ninth-ranked high school prospect in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer ... 2008 Parade All-American ... three-time NSCAA Youth All-American (2006, ’07, ’08) OK, he missed the U-16 national team, but I think if I were a coach, I wouldn't mind having such a lowly-ranked player on my team. Hmmm... surprises me, but I guess I was wrong. I would have never guessed he was a top-ten recruit. I love Scottie, but at times last year I was scratching my head about why he was out there over a guy like Speas. Of course, he showed why Porter started him in the post-season!

What was Ohio's seed last year? 7 or 9. I think 9. Read number one very carefully. There is a clue there. Duh! Btw, here is the MAC tourney bracket with game times : MAc Bracket Zips would play at 2:30 on Thursday if they beat EMU.

Your bracket is a little flawed. You inverted the second round matchups. MAC Website Bracket Here is the correct bracket: 1. Can't vs (Buffalo vs CMU) 2. WMU vs (BGSU vs NIU) 3. Miami vs (Akron vs EMU) 4. Ball State vs (Ohio vs Toledo)

Fact is, 1st round bye is completely in the Zips hands right now. With a win over the Flushes, and either Miami or OU losing to the other, the Zips will get a first round bye. Personally, I'll be rooting for OU on Friday night. Much rather have them as a three seed where we wouldn't have to play them till the final.

Should have looked at that a little closer, missed the division record tie breaker which comes first. If the Zips win and Miami loses on Friday, Akron will be 6-4 against the East and Miami 5-5. This would give the Zips the four seed and first round bye.

According to the MAC site, the tie breaker after head to head is winning percentage against ranked conference teams. What's a ranked team? Are they talking about the top four in the conference or what? Given Miami's loss to Buffalo tonight, if they lose to OU on Friday and the Zips beat the Flushes, who will get that 4 seed and a bye?

Do the Zips have the tiebreaker over Miami? If they do, the best case scenario would have Miami losing to both Buffalo and OU. Then the Zips beating the Flushes. This would drop the Redhawks to 5 seed. Zips would have the four and a bye. OU would move up to three and we wouldn't have to face them until the finals.

Tonight's Miami- Buffalo game is huge. If Buffalo were to come away with the win, then a win on Friday at Can't would guarantee the Zips a 4 seed because the OU-Miami game would eliminate one of those two from the top four. Game tonight is on STO I believe. Still a shot for the Zips.

I asked the question about the spring matchups. Of course, by the time they released this the spring schedule had already been released, but oh well, better late than never. Hearing Porter talk has me pumped up for next season already. The depth on this team will be incredible. Hope to see more of these with Porter. In all honesty, I don't care nearly as much about hearing from the other coaches. Porter has done a phenomenal job at endearing himself to the students and fans here at UA. Of course this always helps:

Please tell me that OU will have a video feed of this one! Half tempted to drive down there for the biggest game all season. Driving six hours for a 2.5 hour game on a school night with gas being way to expensive, all adds up to hopefully settling for a video feed. Can't wait and Go Zips!
