    My number one problem with the Rowdies is their total lack of rhythm and timing. Every time they eff up the Let's Go Zips chant by stomping too soon pisses me off. It's not that hard. 1-2-3-4. 1-2-3-4. Lets-Go-Zips-Stomp.

    I couldn't make the game last night because of the 6 P.M. start, so I watched from my recliner with the game on a tablet with headphones while my wife watched The Bachelor or some other dumb show. When Big Dog made that shot, I jumped out of my chair (which by this time had been de-reclined and I was sitting on the edge of) and gave a fist pump and yelled "Y-Y-Y-Y-E-E-E-E-E-S-S-S-S-S-S!!!!!!!" My wife wasn't nearly as happy as I was. That's why you have to make it to the game. I have been kicking myself in the ass all day today because if I had left right after work, I could have made it just in time for tip-off, but I was being lazy and just went home. Go Zips.

    I think Chase and Domenik had quite a bit of Zip pride, or at least I got that feeling as a bystander. As a person from Giants country, can you confirm that? I don't think Zips fans are trying to demean these two, but I doubt if they have a lot of cachet with a 17 year old.

    I think the issue here is not so much about how the University can use Jason Taylor's stature to help the football program as it is about how great it would be if Jason Taylor wanted to rep the Zips. So far, he hasn't shown much desire to do that. What we can do is show up in droves at the induction ceremony like Zips Superfans to show how much we love and remember him. Maybe he will rekindle some Akron love in his heart if there are some embers left. Zippy says: "Ask not what your university can do for you, ask what you can do for your university."

    I don't know, but I doubt if Kent is experiencing a Julian Edelman uptick in recruiting today. We, as fans probably overestimate former players influence over the recruiting process.

    Jason Taylor played for Akron before today's recruits were born. His legend would resonate much more with late 30s early 40s alums than it would with 17-18 year old kids. We need him to stir up fan interest, not influence recruits. Sadly, kids care more about uniforms.
