You guys that follow hs football, did you see Lorain play this year? Their rb Carlos Chavis looked real good to me but I looked him up and he didn't have any offers. On scout.com it says Akron is a school of interest, though. I saw Lorain lose vs. Olentangy Liberty in Mansfield a couple weeks ago and that kid really showed on offense and defense.

Age has nothing to do with it for the sake of this argument. We oldies live in the same modern world you do and have the same amount of things competing for our attention. I think it still boils down to either you want to come to the game or not. The problem is the game itself is not as great of a pull as it once was because you can see every game at home. I don't think giveaways and trinkets are the answer to get people to come to games, though. It's the social aspect that keeps a lot of people coming. How the U can promote the social aspect is not easy. You have to make those connections yourself, I think. I have tried to reach out to the zn.o community for years to stop by and introduce yourself at a tailgate. Very, very few have ever done that.

Younger fans have never been a priority. It's nothing new. All us old farts were once young. How did we become fans?

There was a thread about who was calling plays after Milwee was promoted to OC, questioning whether or not Bowden had relinquished the task. This is the first time I have ever heard Milwee was the playcaller from the get go. I call bullshit.

If the head football coach signaled in plays that he did not call, we have got bigger systematic problems than I thought. That is the job of a 4th string quarterback, not the DADGUM HEAD BALL COACH!!! Please tell me that is a joke to get a rise out of me.
