  1. I still can't figure out why Arkansas fired Bobby Petrino. . .
  2. The author of the article looks a lot different than he did when he was fronting Jane's Addiction.
  3. Unless there is a drastic change in philosophy, I am confused about bringing in more TE's. In 2014, Anthony Ritossa caught 6 passes and Jerome Lewis chipped in with 3 receptions. Not exactly Tony Gonzalez and Shannon Sharpe. The four TE's on the roster now seems like plenty, but we shall see. . .
  4. I will be surprised if the "one read" offense benefits anyone.
  5. Spring ball is over. Unfortunately, we haven't learned much about our 2015 Zips. For some inexplicable reason, spring practices were closed to the public. Due to this development, we had to depend on reports from the ABJ and the PD for our news. I sure would have liked to see some insights from the fans, since we had some very astute observations posted by board members in the past. I would guess summer/fall practices will be closed as well? Wait until Oklahoma to see what the deal is, I guess. The game on Saturday was just about totally worthless for getting a read on what was going on. All I saw was: 1. Jamal Marcus appears to be legit. He could get around the outside at will and also looked impressive on the bull rush knocking the OT backwards on numerous occasions. 2. As impressive as Marcus looked, Donnell Alexander looked as unimpressive to the same degree. 3. Did you catch a load of Matt Blaha? This enormous man tips the scales at 393 pounds and got some playing time at center with the white team. I'd say he showed pretty well. 4. Speaking of showing well, it appears that there may be another LB in the pipeline. Sophomore LB Tevan Ray looks like he wants to play. He made some very aggressive stops. The rest of the game? Yawwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnn.
  6. Great job, Dr. Z.
  7. He distinctly said turrible.
  8. I can't believe no one is talking about the elephant in the room. Demetrius Treadwell was almost immediately suspended on a domestic violence accusation but it's ok to bring in a transfer football player who has not only been charged with domestic violence but a judge thought there was enough evidence to warrant a trial. Embarrassing.

  10. You are wrong.
  11. Find another thread where I trash talk the Browns. I truly do not care about pro football. I have no dog in this fight and my comments were more about the dumbass uniforms than they were about the actual team. I never referred to the Browns as the Clowns. You called the Steelers the Squeelers. I'm done on this subject. I realize it's the off season, but wow. . .we are arguing about nothing. However, since the Squeelers were mentioned, I will contribute one of my favorite songs of all time as a closing peace offering of good will. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYqqj90pO4g
  12. That's why I don't get excited about uniforms. They don't soothe the sting of losing. I'll drive to Detroit to watch the Zips play in the MACCG wearing burlap uniforms and be happy.
  13. Akron fans don't have any room to talk? To comment on the Browns? Where Akron fans don't have any room is to talk shit about taking down opponents until they actually prove they can, but I don't see Akron fans doing this. It's Browns fans that need to check themselves. I don't have any NFL rooting interest at all, but for a Browns fan to be trash talking Steelers fans is beyond pathetic. In my opinion.
  14. Why? Are those two fan bases tied at the hip? Do the Browns count in #TeamOhio? In that case, I need to be a Bengals fan too.
  15. Enjoy the euphoria surrounding the new unis, Browns fans. I hope they still make you happy in December when the Browns miss the playoffs. Again.
  16. FIFY
  17. He certainly had Heisman type numbers last year.
  18. One of the reasons Dalton gets love is because he was the ultimate team player. I already liked the guy, but his actions on the sideline versus Toledo made him #1 in my book. As I write this, it actually makes me a little emotional remembering that evening. If this program can ever turn the corner and become a winner, I will always believe in my small mind that it started with DW13. He may not have had the record of a champion but he certainly had the class, composure and heart of a champion. The 2011 Zips completely quit. They got completely annihilated by some weak MAC teams. They finished out the year on the lowest rung ever. Smashed 35-3 in Oxford vs. 4-8 Miami. Slaughtered at home vs. a worthless Can't State team 35-3. Then they were humiliated in Buffalo 51-10 by the putrid 3-9 Bulls in a game that wasn't that close. Then the capper, they went in the all-time crapper at Western Michigan 68-19. Clayton Moore was 5-18 for 35 yards. Patrick Nicely went 0-5 and a pick. Dalton's legacy in the minds of people like me probably gets exaggerated to some extent because of the contrast with 2011 shitshow. The Zips went from the pinnacle of quarterback inefficiency and offensive ineptitude to actually being competitive in 2012.
  19. Absolutely. The defense was a sieve in 2012. As much as I have been critical of the football program, I must say the staff has done a fantastic job upgrading this side of the ball the last 2 years. The defense won't be very deep in 2015, but the starting front 7 should be as solid as they come in the MAC.
  20. Where's #TeamOhio? No Football, but LeBron James Family Foundation?
  21. DW13 may not have been a "stud" but if he had not been taken out of the Toledo game after the first series he would hold the Zips all-time single season passing yardage record. I think that qualifies him for at least the "prime-time player" moniker.
