E.J. Thomas to cease producing shows
K92 replied to Blue & Gold's topic in General UA & Campus Discussion
This is the entire ad: While this is a first class piece of smart-assery, it makes me sick to my stomach that my favorite place in the world has been reduced to a joke. I hope the U can recover, but right now it looks like we are at an all-time low and the hits just keep on coming. If you love UA, don't search Google news for recent articles. It's depressing. I am hoping the football team can break out this year and give people an opportunity to rally around something positive. I know success on the gridiron doesn't solve the fiscal problems but I think a lot of us have a real need to feel good about something. UA played a huge role in making me the person I am today in so many different aspects. It hurts so bad to see her struggle like this. -
University of Akron President Scott Scarborough garnering lots of attention, but for all the wrong reasons.

As far as MTB goes. . . He has caught 29 passes for 368 yards in his first two seasons. His status is the least of my concerns. I am with you, Dr Z. Cody Grice is great. What a character. Also, for being such a beast on the field, JB1 sure seems reserved off the field.

Josh McNeil gets a mention in this unflattering piece. Let's hope he breaks the streak & overachieves here.

Interesting choice of players to attend.

I agree that a win over Can't would have done a lot to soothe the sting of the 2014 Zips' unrealized potential. I don't know what the problem was with the defense. If I remember correctly, there was a pass interference call on that last drive that aided the Flashes but yes, after the exhilarating Chisholm run, the defense certainly fell flat on the ensuing drive. Although the defense has been drastically improved over the last 3 years there is still a lot of room to improve as witnessed by the disappearing act on the last drive in Can't and the 55 point debacle in Buffalo.

Here's the defense article.

Hopefully some of Funk's toughness rubs off on the Zips.

It would also help attendance if the league office didn't schedule the Wagon Wheel game on Black Friday. I'm no MAC Commissioner but I have stayed at a couple of Holiday Inn Expresses over the years.

Why mess around with D2 when Akron could be the undisputed king of D3?

I'm just waiting impatiently for the installment #2 to hear the next nickname.

92.3 The Fan to discuss "Rumors" Football to move down
K92 replied to K-Roo's topic in Off Topic, Smack & Jokes
Post of the year by CK. Why no blow-bag faculty members bloviating to the BJ during the Ianello Pigskin Holocaust? Why speak now? With the demise of baseball, they just couldn't restrain themselves from letting their anti-athletics true colors show and pile on at the expense of the most visible program. Their sentiments should have been dismissed out of hand by Rick Armon. I have to wonder what axe he has to grind with UA to author an article based on such an absurd recommendation. As infuriating as the article is to anyone who cares, it is as puzzling why no one from the athletic department would set the record straight. I agree with Zippy5. CK for AD. -
Kinda shows where their head is in regard to the program also. Disgusting.
-
What is bullshit is the story. If you are advocating a dropdown, do it behind the scenes. Don't make it public. It shows those people care less than zero about the program. That's what burns my crack.

Not true. We are still going to the ACC for all the other sports. Just like ND only different, I heard.

No way. Balsy said Bowden will finish his career at Akron.
