Anybody catch some of the comments being posted on the UA Facebook page? I'd post a screen shot but this is supposed to be a family friendly forum.

How much money are you planning to wager on the game?

If Polytechnic is a word that most people don't know the meaning of, why in Hell would you want to use it to describe UA? This gets dumber by the minute. Question for those looking at attendance numbers (I'm too lazy to look myself): What MAC opponent draws the 2nd best crowds after Can't? My guess is Ohio but would be interested to know if any of you have taken note of that.

I don't foresee a home game versus Canada boosting attendance.

I disagree. Can't has about 13 fans that care about football.

It would probably be more beneficial for both Can't and Akron to remain separate schools that decided to drop intercollegiate athletics.

I've changed my mind. If we can transform this lousy old university into a polytechnic, we should. Immediately. Since I read Dave's last post I can't help but fantasize about the day that the institution formerly known as The University of Akron might be mentioned in the same breath as the prestigious UW-Stout!

If and when the press conference is held to announce this name change, they might as well announce the termination of the athletic program in conjunction. Current support is anemic, but what little support there is will dry up for the Ohio Polytechnic Institute and State University Zips.

As the master plan becomes more obvious, you have to realize that the A-Roo must be erased from our culture. The A is going away. Perhaps you could persuade Dr. Scarborough to consider commissioning an OT-Roo design down the road. For now, the Z will have to suffice.
