  1. Only at Ohio's Polytechnic University
  2. Halley's comet has made two appearances since that victory
  3. No, it ( the bonus)was mentioned in an interview with Rhoades in the ABJ... That was my source-- I don't think it exists anymore -- or was never mentioned when he got a new contract I am just of the belief , better / tougher teams on the schedule -- and the road seems like where they can most easily be added will move this team along more than soft wins at home.. As a fan I am willing to see fewer home games at the expense of fewer reg season wins -- and I will say that KD is a great coach... The schedule, which SHOULD really fall on the athletic dept is where improvement is needed
  4. I would like to see a team lose a timeout for an injury
  5. I think he would... But if it's not the buckeyes go find someone else
  6. I don't think there is a 20 win bonus anymore... Just a comfort level?... Which I have been fine with to a point-- but it's time to you know what or get off the pot... Move this thing along at the expense of some tough seasons (Duquense was like the Browns job- not attractive at any price)
  7. I don't think a note from me will do it ... I do remember a quote from the Romeo, Dru era, where KD defended his schedule ( I think their Sr season) where he said the kids had worked too hard and been too good to "send them out on the road". ..presumably to play tougher teams --- enough said
  8. Off to a solid start, the zips seem to be headed in the right direction. Congrats to the players and staff
  9. DIG--drawing some conclusions--in 4 of the 7 seasons you reference OSU was a sweet 16 team.. And in 2 of them a final 4 team, and in one -National runner up. The relative strength of a MAC/ OSU team vs the Zips does little to make me think OSU would be scared of playing them. Remember that i believe KD did have a bonus in previous contracts for 20 wins --that to me seems to have been a bigger factor in scheduling many years--then a perceived fear of the Roo. This is a Zip team that most recently competed in the 2013 NCAA tourney after a "gaudy" 26-7 record and lost in a game that featured the following USA today headline "VCU demolishes Akron in historic NCAA tournament blowout"
  10. he was at North Alabama for a reason
  11. Less than 0% thought is given to vendors and arena workers... I'm not sure what that number looks like but it is way less than 0
  12. If I said I am shocked,--- you would know I was lying.
  13. swing batter
  14. You must not know the differences..it very well could have been an official visit-- but there is very little need or benefit to making it one of his officials
  15. ?.. I know the differences
  16. Either way it is good to have him visit
  17. Is this an official visit... To "Akron University"?... Odd to burn one on such a close school, that doesn't cost anything to visit
  18. Frankly, it is a tough program to sell. They play in the MAC (which is ok for middle recruits), play in a gym, have no student support, not great support overall, play an avg ooc schedule, play a lousy ooc home schedule, are limited financially (like many programs) and have never won a tourney game. So I guess 20 + wins is something to talk about... but as I have said before, an ooc road schedule vs bigger teams --at the expense of a weak home schedule, will appeal to a better player/ recruit, in my opinion.....and moves the program along.
  19. When consecutive 20+ wins puts you in a small group of schools that all have a great history of NCAA success-- and you don't, you are miss-using/ valuing the info... the 20+ wins should not be the hook to bring in kids
  20. Thats not what it is... It is the misc costs.
  21. It wasn't about Noah--I think he is great.... it was about recruiting off of 20 wins
  22. Well if Akron can build a good away schedule based on 4-1 they would be crazy not to do it. They would be better served playing a better road schedule, and skipping the lousy home schedule. EVERY decent recruit would rather play on the road vs any number of top opponents than at home vs Coppin St or Hiram.... forgo the wins or steal one or two to build a better team-- that doesn't get blown out in the NCAA when they get there
  23. I'm guessing 99% of students who leave school and want to break a lease have "extenuating" circumstances.
