Someone just called Baskin & Phelps, on TheFan in Cleveland. Now this might be hard to believe, but he actually said Can't State should have gotten an at-large bid. Wow I thought it was bad OhioU fans wanted an at-large.

I think the location and drive is just about perfect for Zips fans. Maybe it's too late in the evening, but I think regardless fans would have to take a day off work. We definitely have the location advantage for once, but I still say VCU is way too tough.

Lundquist/Raftery/Nichols carrying the game on CBS. Solid placement if you ask me. Nichols isn't as annoying anymore since she isn't talking about the Miami Heat 99% of the time.

They crushed Butler and I'd say they are a big team, size wise. We will have to shoot lights out from 3pt land to have a shot.

They all seem very happy with the match-up. Very surprising, but glad they are confident.

Exactly. They don't let you inbound the ball, let alone get to half court. Akron is already careless with the basketball and turn it over very often. Even against some of the worst MAC teams we had 20+. VCU lives for the NCAA tournament. They've won 11 tournaments games all-time and 6 in the past two years. Yes, I've always been the voice of negativity around here but I can honestly say we have no chance.

Is it too late to play in the NIT?

Well worst case scenario just happened. We have no chance. They are already talking about VCU in the sweet 16.

I actually hope we avoid playing a mid-major. I feel teams like Gonzaga, VCU, and STL are very strong this year. Bigger schools may overlook the Zips, but Mids have played teams like Akron all year. As far as big schools, I hope we avoid Michigan and Syracuse. Syracuse just looked scary good during the BE tournament and the OhioU connection with Michigan. Just don't see them getting knocked out by MAC teams two seasons in a row.

Exactly. I can't even count the number of times I stood outside along with 5000+ other fans in sub-freezing weather to watch the soccer team. Making excuses about seating and concessions has gotten old. Obviously it can be improved, but people go to games to watch the team win. If they cared about comfort/food they would stay home and watch on the couch. I don't know if there's a such thing as "attendance momentum" but I sure hope fans keep showing up.

I watched it earlier and waited for him to drop a hint about an arena. Unfortunately I don't think he mentioned it, but it is the "elephant in the room". UA definitely needs to do everything they can to keep him in place. My wish is that the 5000+ crowds will carry over to next season and that will send a message that something needs to be done. Football and soccer coaches will come and go, but there's only one Dambrot. An Akron guy who seems like he wants to be here for the rest of his career. Obviously he can leave, but I'd hope that's not the case.

I would like to see him as a 25ppg 10rpg average by the end of his career. He is probably the only guy on this team that has star potential. I like Harney, but don't think he is consistent enough to do that.

Sometimes it's frustrating not having that "go-to" star, but it certainly works in our favor. It allows us to retool not rebuild. Of course you can't replace a guy like Zeke or Tree, but I think KD can bring in solid players to place into the system. In turn I think it helps sustain success. Hopefully the same will happen with the incoming recruits. Obviously the arena situation needs to be resolved, but that's been covered extensively. I read their board for this first time today, and don't have an interest returning. Love how UA isn't a "real University" and we rely on non-qualifiers.

Same here. I'd hate to take a vacation day just to watch a basketball game. But I do think CBS has all of the games online.

Hoping the game is a reasonable trip for Akron fans. Right now I'm more worried about who we play and when. It should be a 4 seed, 5 at best? Just need the game to be after 5:00 and I'm happy!

I can't even imagine how scary this team would be if Melo was a scorer. But right now just being able to manage the game is enough. Offense makes the highlight reels but defense will win championships.

So I've heard the Terminal Tower is lit in blue and gold right now. If so, that is awesome!

After this season KD deserves another 10 year extension!
