A few things contributed to the lopsided loss. Turnovers, the defense's inability to make a stop, and missed opportunities. Williams had a few good passes that were dropped, but also had a few that were a bit off target. Those mistakes along with the fumbles can hopefully be fixed. My real concern is the defense. A good offense means nothing if you can't keep the opposing team off the board.
I don't think we can beat FIU, after watching them last year at least. On the bright side I'm hoping our coaches can fix mistakes from the first game, and gameplan for FIU. Watching Oregon's offense right now shows what a good offensive mind can do when given the right players. Can Bowden make that happen in Akron? I don't know, but an offense that exciting will put people in the stands.
