  1. regardless of the ruling on the field, that was a great catch!!
  2. This game could easily be 17-0, lucky to be tied.
  3. It's one thing for the Zips to lose, but to not even be competitive? there's no excuses...
  4. Out defense is flat out terrible. 7-0 after two of the same exact plays.
  5. Sorry. I only replied to your post because I didn't think UCF had a chance to come back. I brought up Penn State because of all the OhioU fans that have been saying BCS ever since the win. A PSU loss again shows how bad their team is this year, and that beating them really means nothing.
  6. It was over, but at least Penn State lost again. To Virginia of all teams...but yeah OhioU does deserve a BCS game now.
  7. They were going toe-to-toe...now they are getting destroyed.
  8. I said "heck no!" when people repeatedly brought up Paul Chryst last year. Good thing UA doesn't listen to Zipsnation!
  9. Agreed. The next "phase" should have it expanded to take up the entire south sideline and finally build a real pressbox. It's funny when you compare our facilities... InfoCision Stadium...amazing facility, no fan atmosphere. First Energy Stadium...poor facility, amazing fan atmosphere Rhodes Arena...poor facility, poor fan atmosphere
  10. I heard Jim Tressel was in the student union yesterday...maybe?
  11. It looks more like a soccer stadium or FCS, than a FBS stadium. Even if it's "Phase I" having only one level makes it seem a lot smaller than it probably is. This is why I think we did it right. Build multiple levels on the sides first, and worry about the endzones during the next phase. Which in our case may never happen. ...and man it's tough to accept the fact that beating FIU would be considered an upset, but that's the state of our program.
  12. Not impressed... Looks like the poor man's version of UCF's stadium.
  13. We already have an Ohio U joker present, only a penguin could make this thread better. But he's probably too busy celebrating another "amazing" win over a team that is in the dumps.
  14. Do we know about TV for next weeks game yet? Gozips doesn't say anything about ESPN3
  15. A few things contributed to the lopsided loss. Turnovers, the defense's inability to make a stop, and missed opportunities. Williams had a few good passes that were dropped, but also had a few that were a bit off target. Those mistakes along with the fumbles can hopefully be fixed. My real concern is the defense. A good offense means nothing if you can't keep the opposing team off the board. I don't think we can beat FIU, after watching them last year at least. On the bright side I'm hoping our coaches can fix mistakes from the first game, and gameplan for FIU. Watching Oregon's offense right now shows what a good offensive mind can do when given the right players. Can Bowden make that happen in Akron? I don't know, but an offense that exciting will put people in the stands.
  16. I also enjoyed that win, but unlike the Ohio U fans I didn't make it out to be more than it was. As a side note, Youngstown State is going to beat Pitt. Same scenario really, Pitt has been in the dumps lately. Kinda glad we didn't get Chryst.
  17. Syracuse was a big program at one point too, winning a National Championship in '59. Guess our win from a few years back was pretty epic! Name alone doesn't constitute a big win. Just because a team was successful in the past, doesn't mean they still are. On a side note, I just saw that OU fans are talking about making a BCS game this year. Talk about dumb, it's not even statistically possible with their schedule. Why they would even be thinking that is beyond me. They are one of the best in the MAC, but that's all...
  18. Beat a team that has lost everything? wow that's something to be proud of Ohio U fans.
  19. Sportscenter was just showing a video montage for the start of the college football season. Started out talking about new coaches, big name coaches...and along with the names of Meyer, Weis, Leech and...Bowden!
  20. The only real preseason game even worth watching is the 3rd. Although still meaningless, you can see a good glimpse of the starters. Most will be sitting tonight, so I just don't see how someone would rather stay home an watch that.
  21. Dining dollars? It counts as food right?
  22. Looks like there are 8-9 games aired on ESPN3, ours being one of them. If I had to guess, I'd say they pick up one of the other 7:30 games so it doesn't mess too much with scheduling. Either UMass vs UConn, or McNees State vs. Middle Tennessee.
  23. My question is, why sign a 10-year contract if you're only going to leave after a few years?
