I agree with you. I feel like there's nothing better than a Zips sporting event with a large crowd. I have to drive 3 hours, and still try to make it to a few football games a year. I feel like people in Northeast Ohio take it for granted, because I would love to be at every home game. But I can understand the frustration/lack of interest in Akron football. I'm sure most people don't know who our coaches are now, and think think of us as a 1-win team. I hate to put it this way, but the program was a joke. Things are getting better, but we're not there yet.
Can a 66-6 win change anything? probably not. But it can't hurt. Playing tough at UT sure could turn some heads. UA Football needs to not only start winning, but become the "place to be". Much like soccer and somedays basketball.
