Yeah getting a full ride to college, special privileges, and any girl they want. Wow what a tough life. So people like me, spend four years in college eating ramen and Rob's cafe food. Lived in dorms that lack heat and hot water (Gallucci Hall). Cannot afford to buy a car, cannot work because of unpaid internships and now left with a ton of student loans. Yeah I don't feel bad for them....sorry.

The purpose of school is to get an education. Athletics is secondary. If they don't want to take classes like the rest of us, then don't go to school. They can go to the arena leagues and play for money if they want. Do they want scholarships or do they want to get paid? It can't be both.

I've always said, pay them $20,000 a year and take away all their scholarships and "special privileges." As someone who has student loans, I have no sympathy for the "student athletes."

Nothing better than watching Toledo get destroyed right now! Not very likely, but I wish for the same outcome for OhioU and Can't.

Not when they play this bad. It's embarassing

Well the Zips gave up on this game before it even started. I've never seen a team so uninterested in playing.

Another loss to another terrible team. Just stupid turnovers and fouls by this team.

down 1? this is the most overrated Akron team of all-time

Better than MAC, C-USA, Mountain West and Sunbelt.

For some reason a lot of Zips have a very "high school" mentality when it comes to college athletics. The small stadiums/areas of the MAC, schools located VERY close to one another, and a regional conference that really is only centered in two states. Do we really need 6 schools in Ohio? I would definitely support some sort of BE-MAC merger. Maybe North and South divisions? Akron, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Temple, Ohio, NIU, UMass, Toledo, USF, UCF, Houston, Memphis, SMU, Tulane, and ECU would make a very solid conference and cover a lot of the eastern US.

Didn't the Big Ten add Maryland and Rutgers just because of Rifle and Soccer?

Like 2-win Coastal Carolina...

Exactly. At least the schools in the Big East carry some weight, and are located in big markets than can get us exposure. I doubt that many casual fans actually look forward to the Zips playing their conference games.

Who can honestly say they'd rather be playing Eastern Michigan, Buffalo, and Bowling Green on a weekly basis instead of teams like Cincy, UCF, and Houston.

OhioU lost to Robert Morris. I don't get it.

Zips will never win the "big" games

Yes, this game is over. Much like the football team the outcome can be decided before halftime.

I like that they have a huge basketball painted at center court...I guess in case you forget which sport you are watching?

Akron looks like a MAC team. Going on one of our famous scoring droughts right now. One of many I'm sure.

So...not even 10 games into the season and the Lady Zips have more wins that our football team has had in the past 4 years! We are awesome...

Prediction: Creighton 75 Akron 60

Is being a part of the MAC something to be proud of?

It doesn't matter if teams like OU or Can't have a good season because we have to win the MAC tourney to make it to the NCAA. The worse the rest of the MAC is, the easier it will be to make a run in March.

Wow the WAC is really going downhill. So glad they are abandoning football.
