  1. I like them, but no Akron logo on them like the past?
  2. UA wouldn't have made the deal if it didn't feel that InfoCision was a good company, and if they fell that it could end up hurting our image I'm sure the name would be changed. It happened when the Astro's ballpark was changed from Enron Field to Minute Maid Park. Ianello did much more than just damage our football program.
  3. I think that we have a solid rotation of good players, but not really those stars you need to make a run in the postseason. It doesn't seem like we have a guy who can score in double digits on a consistent basis, but rather rely on a team philosophy. While it's good to not have to rely on one player to win, it hurts when we have those games that the team doesn't mesh and struggle to score. They star of our team is Zeke, but more for his defensive ability. I really hope someone like Harney, Tree, or one of the new players can step up and really put points on the board. It makes for more exciting basketball.
  4. In all fairness Rob Ianello did more damage to the Zips image than InfoCision ever will.
  5. I've had the same problem at the JAR. But there have been a few times, that I have had reserved tickets and the ushers actually came up to me and asked if I belonged there. Just because I look like a student, doesn't mean I'm not allowed to sit there. I paid for my seat and they really have no business bothering me about it.
  6. Every team has injuries. You don't see us using injuries as an excuse for losing games. The fact is you are squeaking by, barely beating bad teams.
  7. Well just like that we're down by 7, soon to be 14. Can't wait to see how you guys will consider this a "positive" loss.
  8. Ohio U playing close games against terrible teams. But seriously feel like their luck has to run out eventually.
  9. Bowling Green 45 - Akron 35 Only way we can win is if the defense shows up
  10. Isn't the WAC going to be dropping football within the next few years? If not this is a terrible move. Smaller FBS conferences are going overboard adding schools that have no business playing at this level. Do we really need over 120 schools? Does Utah Valley and UTSA deserve to move up? I guess I wouldn't care as much, but it really angers me that a school like Charlotte will be joining CUSA. Doesn't give us much hope, when a school yet to establish a football program is already in a better conference than us.
  11. Funny you brought up the Browns. Since 1999 every fall I found myself looking forward to watching the Browns play on Sundays. Other than Infocsion's opener in '09 I really never looked forward to watching the Zips. That completely changed this year and the Zips are easily more fun to watch than the Browns. I may be ZipsNation's most negative poster, but I have never had more fun watching the Zips. I just wish we had some W's to show for it.
  12. I feel like they are shifting away from a unified brand, to having each season/sport unique. For example football this year uses "Bowden Ball", baseball used "the Mob", and basketball is using a "bigger" campaign. I think having "Fear The Roo" as the main slogan works stronger, then have each sport use something specific per season as a secondary slogan. "Fear the Roo" may be kind of cheesy but I've always loved it. Maybe because I was at UA when it started, but it was really the best thing to happen at UA since the new Zippy logos were introduced.
  13. Bowling Green? Do we know if the game is on TV yet?
  14. Really we only have two options to move up, the Big East and CUSA. Both are much better than the MAC. We are NEVER going to be an ACC or BigTen team, so it's a critical time to take whatever we can get. I'd rather be playing Houston or SMU on saturdays, than the crappy Eastern Michigan, Buffalo, and Bowling Green schools of the MAC. Fan travel really isn't something that worries me. Right now do we have to worry about fans traveling to Boise, when they don't even want to travel to InfoCision to watch a home game? I think CUSA is the only conference that would take us at this point. But the BE has added the markets of Houston, Dallas, Orlando, Memphis, and Philadelphia with their recent expansions. I'd would make sense to add Cleveland/Akron to that list.
  15. It wasn't very smart to use up our timeouts earlier in the half. They were used on a 3rd-1 and 3rd-4, both times it backfired and Miami was able to get 15+ yard plays to convert for first down.
  16. Competitiveness doesn't get fans to come to the games. There were plenty of games over the past few years that we only lost by a touchdown or two. Just because the offense is scoring more points, it doesn't make up for a terrible defensive performance.
  17. Don't see any way that Ohio U loses to UMass.
  18. There is no way you can blame the refs, you let Miami score on every possession you deserve to lose. A huge step backwards for this team. Yes, there were two 15 yard penalties on that drive. But how is that any different than the defense giving up 15+ yard passes on every play?
  19. Competitiveness doesn't show up the in the win column. At the end of the day we're looking at a 1-4 football team.
  20. If we want any chance to win, we need to come up with a turnover.
  21. You are NEVER allowed to review or challenge a penalty. WOW we held Miami to a field goal....time for a parade down exchange street!
  22. Is it possible to get some of these dummies from practice? Maybe use them in the second half instead of using our defense? You may not agree with me, but if you think our defense is playing well you need to get your head checked. The offense is keeping us in the game, but football is about executing on both sides of the ball. You can't expect us to score on every possession.
  23. Our defense is an embarrassment. In reality the score would be almost the same had we not even fielded a defense for the first half. We had what, one stop? I don't know how you can even say at 1-4 you can look at this as a positive game.
  24. I agree this would be a good idea, but are the Zips a team good enough to have people show up a few hours before gametime? Do we want the band playing in front of a few dozen fans? I think that once the RooWalk gets larger crowds it can migrate inside. Also sometimes with indoor events like that, some fans might not even realize it's happening.
