For some reason a lot of Zips have a very "high school" mentality when it comes to college athletics. The small stadiums/areas of the MAC, schools located VERY close to one another, and a regional conference that really is only centered in two states. Do we really need 6 schools in Ohio? I would definitely support some sort of BE-MAC merger. Maybe North and South divisions? Akron, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Temple, Ohio, NIU, UMass, Toledo, USF, UCF, Houston, Memphis, SMU, Tulane, and ECU would make a very solid conference and cover a lot of the eastern US.

Exactly. At least the schools in the Big East carry some weight, and are located in big markets than can get us exposure. I doubt that many casual fans actually look forward to the Zips playing their conference games.

Who can honestly say they'd rather be playing Eastern Michigan, Buffalo, and Bowling Green on a weekly basis instead of teams like Cincy, UCF, and Houston.

Akron looks like a MAC team. Going on one of our famous scoring droughts right now. One of many I'm sure.

So...not even 10 games into the season and the Lady Zips have more wins that our football team has had in the past 4 years! We are awesome...

It doesn't matter if teams like OU or Can't have a good season because we have to win the MAC tourney to make it to the NCAA. The worse the rest of the MAC is, the easier it will be to make a run in March.

Wow the WAC is really going downhill. So glad they are abandoning football.

If soccer was unranked, 2-6 in MAC Championships and 0-2 in the NCAA I'm sure attendance/interest would be very low. But to me basketball and even football will always be more exciting games to attend. I played soccer in high school, but honestly I just don't find it all that exciting anymore.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't there an entire thread bitching because they encouraged students, not sitting behind the hoop, to sit in section 11 last game?
