  1. You are NEVER allowed to review or challenge a penalty. WOW we held Miami to a field goal....time for a parade down exchange street!
  2. Is it possible to get some of these dummies from practice? Maybe use them in the second half instead of using our defense? You may not agree with me, but if you think our defense is playing well you need to get your head checked. The offense is keeping us in the game, but football is about executing on both sides of the ball. You can't expect us to score on every possession.
  3. Our defense is an embarrassment. In reality the score would be almost the same had we not even fielded a defense for the first half. We had what, one stop? I don't know how you can even say at 1-4 you can look at this as a positive game.
  4. I agree this would be a good idea, but are the Zips a team good enough to have people show up a few hours before gametime? Do we want the band playing in front of a few dozen fans? I think that once the RooWalk gets larger crowds it can migrate inside. Also sometimes with indoor events like that, some fans might not even realize it's happening.
  5. The team walked through campus the past 3 years and it never worked out. The buses would drop them off by the rec and they had to walk over to the fieldhouse. It usually turned into a long period of awkward silence, and about 5-10 fans watching with an occasional clap heard now and then. I always felt like that might have hurt the team's motivation more than encouraged them. Also recruits couldn't have been very impressed watching it either. Not to mention Ianello was so dull he really didn't even acknowledge the few fans that did show up. The goal is to have the team walk through the most condensed area of fans. I really don't care if it's in the middle of campus, or in a tailgating lot. Honestly I'd have cheerleaders and players throw out tshirts and other giveaways as they walk through. Everyone loves free stuff, maybe that could help draw some crowds at first.
  6. To be fair, other than Zeke have we had very many high profile recruits? I mean most of these guys signing with the Zips have a handful of MAC schools and Xavier as their offers. Now I'm not saying they aren't good or bad, but they aren't "high-level".
  7. The truth hurts the OU tool. They would have lost by more than 30 points to Tennessee. Recent history has shown how the SEC is on a completely different level than the BigTen. Like I've said before, the Bobcat fans' arrogance and stupidity is an embarrassment to the MAC. Even Can't State fans are laughing at them now!
  8. To me it's more frustrating to see a 1-3 team, when we have a conference rival at 4-0. It's doesn't matter that they have played 4 bad teams, and us only 1. People only care about records...
  9. no it's over
  10. just like Akron to rip our hearts out. Would have rather seen a blowout honestly
  11. Defense looks done...can't do anything to stop them. We need to catch a break if we want any chance in this game...
  12. There's been a lot of "no calls" for UT. Davis got interfered with so bad his jersey got ripped off the shoulder pad, hmm.
  13. Let's just hope we don't have the same outcome EMU had today.
  14. Would have tried to run a few plays at the end of the half...but I'll take a tie at the half.
  15. way to early to say that. The game could end up being 55-13 or something and no one would remember how it started. I'm nervous that the UT touchdown gave them some momentum
  16. Wow our lead didn't last long at all.... Defense comes up with a big play, then lets UT go right down the field. Still our teams weakspot, by far.
  17. I like the optimism, but I honestly don't think we have any chance against Tennessee...
  18. I would prefer Flannigan. Just looking at his offers, he would be a huge pickup.
  19. Exactly! Beating a Penn State team that has lost everything means nothing. And then beating Marshall and Norfolk State are not impressive at all. It's unfortunate that that I have lost a lot of respect for OhioU fans recently. It's one thing to celebrate a "win" but to be so arrogant and obnoxious about it, is an embarrassment to not only your school but the entire MAC.
  20. I thought I noticed a considerable difference in the presentation of today's show. The sign, along with on-screen graphics all seemed to be better designed.
  21. I hope they never have to tarp off any sections of the stadium. It may improve the atmosphere, but it makes it look as if UA has given up "Why have the seats open if we will never be good and no one will sit there" It's the same as if the school would have built a 10k stadium. Not only is it embarrassing, but it gives a bad reflection on the direction of the program. While it may be embarrassing to see small crowds, it's even worse to see a program accept that as normal.
  22. I agree with you. I feel like there's nothing better than a Zips sporting event with a large crowd. I have to drive 3 hours, and still try to make it to a few football games a year. I feel like people in Northeast Ohio take it for granted, because I would love to be at every home game. But I can understand the frustration/lack of interest in Akron football. I'm sure most people don't know who our coaches are now, and think think of us as a 1-win team. I hate to put it this way, but the program was a joke. Things are getting better, but we're not there yet. Can a 66-6 win change anything? probably not. But it can't hurt. Playing tough at UT sure could turn some heads. UA Football needs to not only start winning, but become the "place to be". Much like soccer and somedays basketball.
  23. Could it be that we underestimated Ianello? Maybe he was the "great recruiter" everyone said he was once hired, but he didn't have the football sense to translate talent on the field? Just a thought. While I'm happy with the win, I just have to keep reminding myself that it was Morgan State. Even JD was able to beat them pretty good. I hope, if anything, it gives the team confidence and let them have some fun. God knows the players deserve it. I'm never one to encourage running up the score but after what all of these players went through. They deserved to score 100. With that being said I hope next week isn't too bad. Just be competitive and I will be happy.
  24. Dear NCAA, can we have Dalton Williams for 3 more years? Grant us a hardship waiver for having to deal with Ianello for 2 years. My hope is that his success is more a result of the system. Meaning that if we plug any similar QB into this offense and they can succeed.
