A good team makes a mediocre goalie look good. He barely gets any shots on goal and fumbles the ball very often. But most of all his attitude bothers me. I had to sit behind the goal during the Cal tourney game last year and he was screaming at the players 90% of the time. Now I understand sometimes he may be telling them to make adjustments, but it was more the case of him flipping out every time Cal got a shot on goal. It's like he never has any shots on goal and when he actually does, he throws a temper tantrum because he has to do some work for a change.

Has to be the worst kick coverage I have ever seen. Gave VMI a 39yd drive, one play and they scored...wouldn't be surprised if we lost this one!!

This is the worst possible time for Akron to be at rock bottom for football. With all of this movement, we going to get thrown under the bus and end up in FCS playing teams like VMI all year. It doesn't matter if soccer wins 10 national championships, a conference like the BigEast will never let us in with this football team. Even if they could be mediocre like Houston or UCF we'd have a chance. We have the facilities, enrollment, and location to make it, but the conferences don't care unless you win. I see 4 super-conferences with everyone else dropping down to FCS. It's sad but true that we won't see small schools becoming the next Boise, TCU, etc. Right now is the time the conferences will be determined, and I don't see any way teams will move up or down. I think the ONLY advantage we have is that I like to think our administration wants to move up in college athletics.Dream scenario? fire Ianello. Sorry but he hasn't shown anything. Hire a guy like Tressel. As much as I hate OSU this would be the only thing that could help a program at rock bottom. Second, build a new arena. Show a bigger conference that you are committed to building and able to spend money to improve. Make a run this year in the tourney and you might get conference's attention. Look at UConn, Cincy, and Louisville, schools that had good basketball teams that carried their entire athletics programs into bigger conferences. I know none of this will ever happen, but we can dream right?

He's not only a bad coach, he is stubborn as hell. He has a game plan, he sticks to it, and REFUSES to make adjustments. First of all as bad as Nicely and Moore are, they are not Pro style offense QB's. They both flourish out of the shotgun, especially with a line that gives you one second to pass. By the time our QB's drop back they have 4-5 defenders ready to hit them and receivers draped with coverage. Second, we have a talented RB but he cannot run up the gut without a line. The defenses we face KNOW where he's running and know they stop it. Resulting in 1 yard runs. Was it any surprise that the 1 time 44 ran to the outside he picked up 30+? I guarantee that wasn't a designed run to the outside. Chances are he was supposed to run up the gut and said hell with it, gained 30 yards and probably got yelled at by Ianello on the sideline.

The prediction is pretty easy based on the first two games.Cincy +40Akron -3take a guess where I got those numbers! I mean i've really been impressed with coach's Run-Run-IncompletePass-Punt offense. I only wonder...if the Browns had used that last week maybe we would've beat the Bungels.

He got us 3 points in 2 games. If I were him I would have stayed in Juco, I'm sure the coaches are smarter there...

I'm sure most have seen these already, but they have to be some of the coolest uniforms ever! C'mon Akron get with it!!!!!!

Had to bring this back up, since I found a cool graphic online. I'm in no way taking credit for this. But these are by far the best Zips uniforms I've seen designed. Glad that we have some talented Zips fans! Gotta love the 3 different helmets, 3 jerseys, and 3 pants. Really giving us a lot of combos, like Oregon and Maryland. Maybe if we had worn something sick like this we would have scared OSU off the field haha

The one bright spot we can take from the game..... Our kicker is a good as OSU's kicker. lol Our punter is better! have we seen their punter yet? hahaha nope, that's my point! Ours has had some nice punts, while OSU's punter is being lazy and sitting on the bench. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in street clothes during the second half, why even suit up if you're not going to contribute!!!!

Is it just me, or has out PUNTING been fantastic this game. I'm in awe at how amazing they have been. It's like giving me hope we can win this game. If Oregon had punts like us maybe they would have won the Championship last year. Touchdowns are overrated, punting wins championships. Fear the Punt

The two rushing zips defenders decided to tackle each other instead of going after him. We're not playing to win, we're playing to not lose by 50. Coach I does not want to win this game, and it's pretty obvious since the first series. Run Run Incomplete Pass Punt It's like watching Brian Daboll's offense for the Browns last year!!! Only we don't have a good O-line or Running back...

Not sure what coach is thinking. These play calls are terrible, Oline is playing terrible, defense can't tackle or cover no chance in this game, maybe we'll be good next year...

Right here is one (THE?) reason that when I read the threads about moving the the Big East, I generally have the "careful what you wish for," thought. I'd rather stay in the MAC and dominate this conference every year. We'd have consistent, perhaps annual, Top 25 rankings, even if no real chance at winning the national championship. But that's fine w/ me. My grand vision for Akron football is lower-eschelon Top 25. And we'd be packing the Info & everyone would know who/where Akron is (even though I guess LBJ's already accomplished this one). Become the Boise State of the MAC. Boise State translated their success into moving to a better conference. Akron needs to get to C-USA if your "grand vision" is to happen. I don't have anything against C-USA, except for greater travel time/expense. But we don't need C-USA for lower-tier Top 25 rankings. We just need to win out in the MAC. I'd be happy if we could win more than one game in the MAC honestly...

I think I saw you post this on ESPN.com. Love how you called them "red & silver" it REALLY pisses off OSU fans, which is hilarious. I've noticed something about the comments about the game over there. If you post something like "Go zips!" or "fear the roo" they will respond with a paragraph trashing akron and everything about our university and city. Just shows how low class they all are.

I love being on National TV! But.....this means the whole nation will see us get embarrassed, not good publicity.

A "radio host" on WKNR this morning smashed the Zips pretty hard. Said they had no chance in hell and would probably lost by over 70 pts. I think his name was Aaron? Not to mention he went on repeatedly bashing our program as the "worst" in the country. Apparently he thought that every D1, D2, and D3 team is better as well. Thankfully Tony Rizzo was quick to stand up for Akron and at least someone in the Cleveland media has our back. I rarely don't listen to WKNR but I found it interesting that the Aaron guy that was bashing Akron into the ground, is actually facing a suspension from the station due to an incident with a HS football coach. Classy Guy! Now I know most of the media would say that Akron has no chance. But I really don't care! We won't win, I know that but I just hope we show up to play!

It's going to be 31-9 with OSU taking the win....you can take those numbers to Vegas. I hate the Suckeyes more than any team on earth, but I really don't see how a 1 win team has a chance. Well technically OSU is a 0 win team, but you know what I mean haha. Has anyone else noticed how OSU fans are jumping all over "the U" because of the scandal going down. I just find it ironic they were the FIRST ones to make fun of Miami. Just shows how classy they are!!
