Taking an academic position doesn't really seem like anything that can influence us athletically. Other than a day of publicity what could we really gain? Give it a few weeks and people will forget he even worked there. Not to mention something like that wouldn't seem like a very permanent job. More of a random job just to pass the time, similar to his stay in Indianapolis. More importantly I think this would be even more pointless than that, since at least in Indy he was doing something football related.

Trust me, I've been an Akron fan for a very long time. I'm just sick of all this damn losing in Northeast Ohio. I'm not a troll, just very negative because of that.

I too am not a fan of soccer. I'm not saying I'm not going to support football. If you read my earlier post I stated I will probably be buying season tickets for the first time. All I was saying is Bowden might have to get used to some losing. Yeah and his tournament record is 0-2.

Well he's in Akron now, he might have to get used to losing. Aside from our soccer team we haven't had much luck in the winning department.

I'm interested to see how well tickets have been selling so far. There's obviously no waiting list or fans camping out to buy them, but I sure hope there is a bit of an increase. Anyone hear anything yet? I'm still trying to decide if I want to pick some up or not. I live over two hours away, and it's a bit of a gamble since you never know how the team will be performing.

I won't believe it until I see results on the field. I'm not saying you're wrong, just having a tough time getting excited about recruits with two or less stars that no mediocre schools even want. Accomplishments at FSU and NCState are good and all, but at the end of the day they are meaningless to the Zips...

Now I get all this "a win is a win" but these are no where near quality opponents. These ugly wins against BG, Miami, Ball State, and CMU are scary because we know that this team is a few plays away from losing to these teams. Even though they don't we know it could happen and if we play like this against OU and Can't at home or in the MAC tournament we are going to get smoked! Ugly wins are fine, but every win is ugly it's proof of an unstable team. A team that can beat Mississippi State but lose to Valp, Duquesne, and Buffalo. This is what makes it difficult for our fans to get behind this team, and why no one in the country will take us seriously come March. If people think this type of play will win the MAC, you are in for a rude awakening!

Bowden stated he was going to acknowledge all scholarships promised by Ianello. I'm sure there are plenty of these recruits they really didn't want.

So did he sit out all of last year? or did he ever actually suit up for the Racers?

Yeah something doesn't add up. I had read he transferred from Cincy to Murray State, where he played last season.

This is a huge pickup, did anyone see the other schools on the list? Hell those schools are so impressive I can't even remember their names as I type this. Another Ianello diamond in the rough?

Free throws and like always turnovers! we have to be averaging about 20 a game. That's 20 possessions lost, and 40 potential points...but more realistically about 15-20 points.

CMU needs to stop calling freaking timeouts. Like it really matters...

I know this is irrelevant, but I just noticed their court design is UGLY as hell! It's like they tried to fit as much text on it as they could and the yellow lines are hard to see.

Harney will throw down 30 points. But really I think that we'll start out a bit sloppy, and have to rely on another 2nd half run to get us the W. If that happens great, but one of these days the run won't come and we'll lose to a terrible team...remember Buffalo...

I would like to see him have some sort of job with the football team, whether it be a position coach, recruiting, or something else. But my question is how does Jason really feel about Akron? Is he proud of being a graduate and want to give back, or does he just consider it the place he went to school? If I had to guess I'd say he just considers it the place he went to school, since I've never heard of him attending games, coming back to campus, or even talk about Akron.

It's tough to say where this kid could play since all different sources say RB, CB, and Athlete. If I had to choose I'd like to have him play CB and maybe try out as a return man. I think we need a lot of help in the secondary, but more importantly the defense needs all the help it can get. Has there been any news on the FSU transfer? is he still coming to Akron or no?

I graduated Buchtel the year John Heisman was coach...... I'm still waiting to see a good team But in all seriousness I know it's been said a million times but it's crazy how much campus has changed. I remember my four years at UA there was never a day that went by when construction crews weren't on campus. I now live in PA and get choked up every time I come back to campus. Great place and great memories!

If I had to guess I would say members of the rifle team.

In all honestly I find it tough to get excited about college baseball in general. I'm a huge Indians fan and love the game, just have found that when it comes to college I find softball more entertaining than baseball. But I hope to see every Zips team succeed and wish the new coach the best of luck!
